The last generation Probably one of the most sought out prophecies is when the end time is near or who will be the last generation in this world age. Although know one knows the time, we are given many signs when the end will take place. Being more specific, the Bible even tells us of the last generation. To understand who this generation may be, we must first go back to the book of Jeremiah to see how our Father speaks of a generation of the fig tree. The Lord gave Jeremiah a vision and showed him a basket full of figs, some were very good and some were rotten. Then the Lord explained what the figs would represent to Jeremiah. Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good. For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up. And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the Lord: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart. (Jeremiah 24:5-7) We are looking for a return generation that has already taken place. Searching History, in 1948 the house of Judah and the house of Benjamin formed a nation Jerusalem. Matthew 24 and Mark 13 also speak of a generation. But what about this generation that makes it a benchmark in time. After Jesus explained to the deciples what the end time signs would be, he gave them a little parable to further explain the time. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This Generation Shall Not Pass, till all these things be fulfilled. (Matthew 24:32-34) Believed by many Scholars to be the generation of the fig tree spoken of in Jeremiah 24, the return generation of Judah and Benjamin forming a nation in 1948. Could this be the last generation before the end of this earth age? The book of Daniel chapter 11 tells of the end events that are taking place at the present time, and the messenger from God goes on to tell Daniel in chapter 12. "But Daniel, keep this prophecy a secret; seal it up so that it will not be understood until the end times, when travel and education shall be vastly increased!" (Daniel 12:4) Many shall be purified by great trials and persecutions. But the wicked shall continue in their wickedness, and none of them will understand. Only those who are willing to learn will know what it means. (Daniel 12:10) This would only apply to us today with such a vast amount of travel and knowledge, but lack of truth and study in our Fathers Word. Even the European and American generation of 1948 would be a benchmark generation. Many not aware that we are part of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel that went north over the Caucus Mountains and settled in Europe and the Americas. A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this. (Psalms 22:30-31) The last generation, an intense generation, who's purpose to bring forth the truth of God's Word to turn the hearts of the people back to the Father, to fulfill His master plan. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. (Mark 13:37) Yes we could very well be in the last generation, and rightly so. A generation that is so out of control in many ways, with only the hope of God to set the record straight.

I was just thinkin about this today. I'm fascinated with Revelation. Generations, everyone seems to be concerned with what a generation is. It seems to me that, someone born in or around '48 would still be alive today. A mere 60 years old give or take. They have many years left, as you say it could be 60 more years of life. So, as I see it, it's not about how long a generation is, I think it's the people that were born during that time (as you speculated above). However,,,,, Even though Israel is more than probably the fig tree, all these things are not fullfilled, as in, the tree is not yet bearing fruit. Obviously it is very much alive, but it's still winter yet. We'll certainly be seeing the leaves turn green soon enough.Did that make any sense?
