This is not of much significance as whether you call her Mary or miriam the significance of the article shared is that Mary the mother of Christ is not a decendant of Aaron.
That is the mistaken of thus writer understanding regarding on the verse that has been written. The moslem regarding on that verse wasn't thinking like the writers did. So if you want to complain, complain to him which what I call false in understanding the meaning of the verse. It is you and the authors of the link who has thinking like the way you want not Muslim. I already giving you our understanding, if you still want to follow those false meaning then go a head, that's your right. But again because you are talking about Quran which is Muslim's faith then i suggest you following what the prophet Muhammad s.a.w. has said regarding on that verse. Then if you are still insist that i must giving the answer regarding on what you want, then sorry don't ask me because that is not what i'm thinking, that is not what moslem thinking, that is not scholars thinking, that's only out of moslem faith that has the thinking. So ask them who thinking like the way you are thinking.Wallaahu a'lam.

I have never asked you to answer me to begin with but when you do decide to participate in a conversation, I may ask you to prove your points. Between, don't bother if that's the best you can come up with because all I asked for specifically in my first reply to you was to show me the ladder / geneaology how Mary is related to Aaron it's as simple as that with no ifs / buts... Same clan / faith is like saying since my ancentors were married into different clans (multicultral marriages) of same faith therefore my ancentors are same as sister kriss ancestors. What crap is that?

A'udzubillaahiminasysyaithonirrojiimBismillaahirrohmaanirrohiimAs said in my analysis, God was quoting the Jews on conversation with Mary, it is not God who saying so, but God pick up the conversation on what happen by the time Mary got birth. And it is Jews who said like that way by the time Mary got birth. And as said in my analysis, Mary in Hebrew was Miriam. Where the name of Miriam was taken from the name of Moses and Aaron sister. So the name of Mary was the name of sister of Aaron as well. It's the same name.So by the time Jews was talking to Mary, the Jews was using word "Sister of Aaron", instead of word Mary which is has the same word of result. That is why, prophet Muhammad s.a.w. giving the explaination regarding on the hadith in that link. Then you will see the meaning of that verse regarding on what prophet Muhammad s.a.w. has said.Wallahu a'lam.
Here is the complete Sura 19 (Mary / Mariam / Maryam / whatever) for ALL of you to have an insight to the islamic version of the birth of Christ our Lord!!!Note: In quran and it's english translations Allah uses 'WE' for himself rather than 'I'. So don't let this confuse you as to who is addressing who in the surah.http://www.islam101.com/quran/QTP/QTP019.htm019.001 Kaf. Ha. Ya. A'in. Sad. 019.002 A mention of the mercy of thy Lord unto His servant Zachariah. 019.003 When he cried unto his Lord a cry in secret, 019.004 Saying: My Lord! Lo! the bones of me wax feeble and my head is shining with grey hair, and I have never been unblest in prayer to Thee, my Lord. 019.005 Lo! I fear my kinsfolk after me, since my wife is barren. Oh, give me from Thy presence a successor 019.006 Who shall inherit of me and inherit (also) of the house of Jacob. And make him, my Lord, acceptable (unto Thee). 019.007 (It was said unto him): O Zachariah! Lo! We bring thee tidings of a son whose name is John; we have given the same name to none before (him). 019.008 He said: My Lord! How can I have a son when my wife is barren and I have reached infirm old age ? 019.009 He said: So (it will be). Thy Lord saith: It is easy for Me, even as I created thee before, when thou wast naught. 019.010 He said: My Lord! Appoint for me some token. He said: Thy token is that thou, with no bodily defect, shalt not speak unto mankind three nights. 019.011 Then he came forth unto his people from the sanctuary, and signified to them: Glorify your Lord at break of day and fall of night. 019.012 (And it was said unto his son): O John! Hold fast the Scripture. And we gave him wisdom when a child, 019.013 And compassion from Our presence, and purity; and he was devout, 019.014 And dutiful toward his parents. And he was not arrogant, rebellious. 019.015 Peace on him the day he was born, and the day he dieth and the day he shall be raised alive! 019.016 And make mention of Mary in the Scripture, when she had withdrawn from her people to a chamber looking East, 019.017 And had chosen seclusion from them. Then We sent unto her Our Spirit and it assumed for her the likeness of a perfect man. 019.018 She said: Lo! I seek refuge in the Beneficent One from thee, if thou art God- fearing. 019.019 He said: I am only a messenger of thy Lord, that I may bestow on thee a faultless son. 019.020 She said: How can I have a son when no mortal hath touched me, neither have I been unchaste ? 019.021 He said: So (it will be). Thy Lord saith: It is easy for Me. And (it will be) that We may make of him a revelation for mankind and a mercy from Us, and it is a thing ordained. 019.022 And she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a far place. 019.023 And the pangs of childbirth drove her unto the trunk of the palm-tree. She said: Oh, would that I had died ere this and had become a thing of naught, forgotten! 019.024 Then (one) cried unto her from below her, saying: Grieve not! Thy Lord hath placed a rivulet beneath thee, 019.025 And shake the trunk of the palm-tree toward thee, thou wilt cause ripe dates to fall upon thee. 019.026 So eat and drink and be consoled. And if thou meetest any mortal, say: Lo! I have vowed a fast unto the Beneficent, and may not speak this day to any mortal. 019.027 Then she brought him to her own folk, carrying him. They said: O Mary! Thou hast come with an amazing thing. 019.028 O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a wicked man nor was thy mother a harlot. 019.029 Then she pointed to him. They said: How can we talk to one who is in the cradle, a young boy ? 019.030 He spake: Lo! I am the slave of Allah. He hath given me the Scripture and hath appointed me a Prophet, 019.031 And hath made me blessed wheresoever I may be, and hath enjoined upon me prayer and almsgiving so long as I remain alive, 019.032 And (hath made me) dutiful toward her who bore me, and hath not made me arrogant, unblest. 019.033 Peace on me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive! 019.034 Such was Jesus, son of Mary: (this is) a statement of the truth concerning which they doubt. 019.035 It befitteth not (the Majesty of) Allah that He should take unto Himself a son. Glory be to Him! When He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! and it is. 019.036 And lo! Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So serve Him. That is the right path. 019.037 The sects among them differ: but woe unto the disbelievers from the meeting of an awful Day. 019.038 See and hear them on the Day they come unto Us! yet the evil-doers are to- day in error manifest. 019.039 And warn them of the Day of anguish when the case hath been decided. Now they are in a state of carelessness, and they believe not. 019.040 Lo! We, only We, inherit the earth and all who are thereon, and unto Us they are returned. 019.041 And make mention (O Muhammad) in the Scripture of Abraham. Lo! he was a saint, a prophet. 019.042 When he said unto his father: O my father! Why worshippest thou that which heareth not nor seeth, nor can in aught avail thee ? 019.043 O my father! Lo! there hath come unto me of knowledge that which came not unto thee. So follow me, and I will lead thee on a right path. 019.044 O my father! Serve not the devil. Lo! the devil is a rebel unto the Beneficent. 019.045 O my father! Lo! I fear lest a punishment from the Beneficent overtake thee so that thou become a comrade of the devil. 019.046 He said: Rejectest thou my gods, O Abraham ? If thou cease not, I shall surely stone thee. Depart from me a long while! 019.047 He said: Peace be unto thee! I shall ask forgiveness of my Lord for thee. Lo! He was ever gracious unto me. 019.048 I shall withdraw from you and that unto which ye pray beside Allah, and I shall pray unto my Lord. It may be that, in prayer unto my Lord, I shall not be unblest. 019.049 So, when he had withdrawn from them and that which they were worshipping beside Allah, We gave him Isaac and Jacob. Each of them We made a prophet. 019.050 And we gave them of Our mercy, and assigned to them a high and true renown. 019.051 And make mention in the Scripture of Moses. Lo! he was chosen, and he was a messenger (of Allah), a prophet. 019.052 We called him from the right slope of the Mount, and brought him nigh in communion. 019.053 And We bestowed upon him of Our mercy his brother Aaron, a prophet (likewise). 019.054 And make mention in the Scripture of Ishmael. Lo! he was a keeper of his promise, and he was a messenger (of Allah), a prophet. 019.055 He enjoined upon his people worship and almsgiving, and was acceptable in the sight of his Lord. 019.056 And make mention in the Scripture of Idris. Lo! he was a saint, a prophet; 019.057 And We raised him to high station. 019.058 These are they unto whom Allah showed favour from among the prophets, of the seed of Adam and of those whom We carried (in the ship) with Noah, and of the seed of Abraham and Israel, and from among those whom We guided and chose. When the revelations of the Beneficent were recited unto them, they fell down, adoring and weeping. 019.059 Now there hath succeeded them a later generation whom have ruined worship and have followed lusts. But they will meet deception. 019.060 Save him who shall repent and believe and do right. Such will enter the Garden, and they will not be wronged in aught - 019.061 Gardens of Eden, which the Beneficent hath promised to His slaves in the unseen. Lo! His promise is ever sure of fulfilment - 019.062 They hear therein no idle talk, but only Peace; and therein they have food for morn and evening. 019.063 Such is the Garden which We cause the devout among Our bondmen to inherit. 019.064 We (angels) come not down save by commandment of thy Lord. Unto Him belongeth all that is before us and all that is behind us and all that is between those two, and thy Lord was never forgetful - 019.065 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them! Therefor, worship thou Him and be thou steadfast in His service. Knowest thou one that can be named along with Him ? 019.066 And man saith: When I am dead, shall I forsooth be brought forth alive ? 019.067 Doth not man remember that We created him before, when he was naught ? 019.068 And, by thy Lord, verily We shall assemble them and the devils, then We shall bring them, crouching, around hell. 019.069 Then We shall pluck out from every sect whichever of them was most stubborn in rebellion to the Beneficent. 019.070 And surely We are Best Aware of those most worthy to be burned therein. 019.071 There is not one of you but shall approach it. That is a fixed ordinance of thy Lord. 019.072 Then We shall rescue those who kept from evil, and leave the evil-doers crouching there. 019.073 And when Our clear revelations are recited unto them, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Which of the two parties (yours or ours) is better in position, and more imposing as an army ? 019.074 How many a generation have We destroyed before them, who were more imposing in respect of gear and outward seeming! 019.075 Say: As for him who is in error, the Beneficent will verily prolong his span of life until, when they behold that which they were promised, whether it be punishment (in the world), or the Hour (of doom), they will know who is worse in position and who is weaker as an army. 019.076 Allah increaseth in right guidance those who walk aright, and the good deeds which endure are better in thy Lord's sight for reward, and better for resort. 019.077 Hast thou seen him who disbelieveth in Our revelations and saith: Assuredly I shall be given wealth and children ? 019.078 Hath he perused the Unseen, or hath he made a pact with the Beneficent ? 019.079 Nay, but We shall record that which he saith and prolong for him a span of torment. 019.080 And We shall inherit from him that whereof he spake, and he will come unto Us, alone (without his wealth and children). 019.081 And they have chosen (other) gods beside Allah that they may be a power for them. 019.082 Nay, but they will deny their worship of them, and become opponents unto them. 019.083 Seest thou not that We have set the devils on the disbelievers to confound them with confusion ? 019.084 So make no haste against them (O Muhammad). We do but number unto them a sum (of days). 019.085 On the day when We shall gather the righteous unto the Beneficent, a goodly company. 019.086 And drive the guilty unto hell, a weary herd, 019.087 They will have no power of intercession, save him who hath made a covenant with his Lord. 019.088 And they say: The Beneficent hath taken unto Himself a son. 019.089 Assuredly ye utter a disastrous thing 019.090 Whereby almost the heavens are torn, and the earth is split asunder and the mountains fall in ruins, 019.091 That ye ascribe unto the Beneficent a son, 019.092 When it is not meet for (the Majesty of) the Beneficent that He should choose a son. 019.093 There is none in the heavens and the earth but cometh unto the Beneficent as a slave. 019.094 Verily He knoweth them and numbereth them with (right) numbering. 019.095 And each one of them will come unto Him on the Day of Resurrection, alone. 019.096 Lo! those who believe and do good works, the Beneficent will appoint for them love. 019.097 And We make (this Scripture) easy in thy tongue, (O Muhammad) only that thou mayst bear good tidings therewith unto those who ward off (evil), and warn therewith the froward folk. 019.098 And how many a generation before them have We destroyed! Canst thou (Muhammad) see a single man of them, or hear from them the slightest sound ?

Ok, i'm sorry for 'if' that you are underlined, that is my bad.I just want to say, that the verse 19:28 was not talking about Maryam mother of Jesus as descent to Harun. It was God Words that giving to prophet which was taken from the dialog between Jews and Maryam at that time(time when marry got birth). In that dialog Jews was saying word "O 'sister of Aaron' ! ...."And prophet Muhammad s.a.w. has confirming what the meaning was.Which is we believe the meaning of that verse was not about the descent of Maryam thorough Aaron. And for the unconvinience i do apologize for it, and thank you.Wallaahu a'lam.

A'udzubillaahiminasysyaithonirrojiimBismillaahirrohmaanirrohiimOk, i'm sorry for 'if' that you are underlined, that is my bad.I just want to say, that the verse 19:28 was not talking about Maryam mother of Jesus as descent to Harun. It was God Words that giving to prophet which was taken from the dialog between Jews and Maryam at that time(time when marry got birth). It's Ok Ricky. You have given your views and I have given mine. If this is what the jews said (if it is to be seen that way) then what they said was not true as a matter of fact still your prophet confirmed the false fact in hadith by giving further explanation given to us by you. Now why would your prophet do that? (Ricky W;19493)
It turns out that Christians in Najran during the time of the Prophet(P) raised a similar objection and it was answered by the Prophet(P). In Sahih Muslim, the hadith related by Mughirah ibn Shu`bah [5326] says: When I came to Najran, they (the Christians of Najran) asked me: You read "O sister of Harun" (i.e. Maryam) in the Qur'an, whereas Moses was born much before Jesus. When I came back to Allah's Messenger(P) I asked him about that, whereupon he said: The (people of the old age) used to give names (to their persons) after the names of Apostle and pious persons who had gone before them. This claim of contradiction is apparently mistaken because it disregards both the Arabic idiom and the context of the verse. In Arabic the word akhun or ukhtun (Underlined with Red colour in the images) carries two meanings. 1. Blood brother or sister and 2. Brotherhood/sisterhood in clan and faith. The above verse has used the word ukhtun in the second sense. Jews said, Muhammed confirmed or Allah revealing; it still dose not make sense.I have nothing more to add to this topic. Therefore, I thank you for your participation and comments and I see it best that we leave it to the readers to decide !

Mays genealogy is in Luke 3:23 it is shown through her fatherMary was a direct descendant of King David which gave Jesus the right to ascend the Jewish throne, both through Mary and through adoption by his foster father, Joseph. Mary’s genealogy is supplied in Luke 3:23-38. Dr. Henry Morris explains the genealogy in Luke:“Joseph was clearly the son of Jacob (Matthew 1:16, so this verse [Luke 3:23 - says “son of Heli”] should be understood to mean “son-in-law of Heli.” Thus, the genealogy of Christ in Luke is actually the genealogy of Mary, while Matthew gives that of Joseph. Actually, the word “son” is not in the original, so it would be legitimate to supply either “son” or “son-in-law” in this context. Since Matthew and Luke clearly record much common material, it is certain that neither one could unknowingly incorporate such a flagrant apparent mistake as the wrong genealogy in his record. As it is, however, the two genealogies show that both parents were descendants of David—Joseph through Solomon (Matthew 1:7-15), thus inheriting the legal right to the throne of David, and Mary through Nathan (Luke 3:23-31), her line thus carrying the seed of David, since Solomon’s line had been refused the throne because of Jechoniah’s sin” [Dr. Henry M. Morris, The Defender’s Study Bible, note for Luke 3:23 (Iowa Falls, Iowa: World Publishing, Inc., 1995).].Although Jesus was clearly legally related to both parents (to Mary, by being born from her, and to Joseph by legal adoption), was he genetically related to them or to his brothers and sisters? For thousands of years, every human child has been born with an inherited sin nature and sinful flesh (Romans 8:3). This is a result of our sinful first parents, Adam and Eve to whom we are all genetically related. Each generation (without exception) has sinned (Rom. 3:23) and passed on its sinful nature and the curse of death, to each succeeding generation (the biblical doctrine of imputation of sin - Romans 5:12-19). There is only one exception in history. Although Jesus grew in the womb of Mary, in the same manner as any baby, he was different from all other babies. It appears that he was not genetically related to either Mary or Joseph, for both had an inherited sin nature. Jesus was sinless, and one may reasonably assume without genetic flaw, since he was to serve as the spotless and sacrificial Lamb of God.Ever since the Creation, each subsequent life has been created at the moment of conception. Scientifically, the new entity begins at the moment the DNA of man and woman combine. This was not the case with Jesus. As a spirit and part of the Trinity, Jesus existed before the Creation of the world. In fact, John reveals that he is the Creator (John 1).Furthermore, the physical body of Jesus as born in Bethlehem was clearly a special creation of God, placed in Mary’s womb. This is the biblical doctrine of the Virgin Birth. Thus, neither Christ’s spirit nor his body must have resulted from the DNA of Mary’s egg or from any man’s sperm. Both would have contained inherited genetic defects and the sin nature. As Scripture tells us, Jesus was truly the Second Adam. The first Adam was a special creation of God (not related to any human being), and so was the second Adam (Romans 5:12-19). Jesus was just as fully human as the first Adam. And just like the first Adam, he had no sin nature, no inherited sin, no sinful flesh, which has always been passed from one generation to the next since Adam and Eve’s sin. He was absolutely pure and without sin—from the day he was born, till the day he died. He had to be—he was the Lamb of God, without blemish or spot, sacrificed for sins (John 1:29).
Thank you Kriss, for sharing Dr. Henry Morris articles. Bless him for that. Amen for that.(Amy;19569)

Thank you for the share you bring up sister Amy. I appeciate that for us to see how corrupt this and every Qu'ran. This is very sad indeed.Yahshua wept and so shall I.Much love, Jag.

Miriam, Mary was a common name there are several in the bible just because someone has the same name doesnt mean its the same person. You have to go to gen. to see who is who same as today everyone named John,Abdul,or Mary isnt the same person.

Correct. It's also appear on Quran regarding on Marry.
You have to go to gen. to see who is who same as today everyone named John,Abdul,or Mary isnt the same person.
Well, as i already gave regarding on the word ukh in Quranic languages, there are two kind of meanings of using those word.1st. Has related with blood/DNA.2nd. Related with brother/sister in faith. As far as i concerned, the word of Mary in Jewish word was Miriam. And if we take a look what was foretold in the Quran, clearly state that Jews saying to Mary by called her "O Sister of Aaron", which is impossible for Jews to telling that as literally. Now regarding on the meaning of the Quran understanding ofcourse i will not to try interpreted this using my own desire at the first, but i will try to find it on the Quran itself and of course His Messenger, because His Messenger the one who know well about what God want to say.It turns out that Christians in Najran during the time of the Prophet(P) raised a similar objection and it was answered by the Prophet(P). In Sahih Muslim, the hadith related by Mughirah ibn Shu`bah [5326] says:When I came to Najran, they (the Christians of Najran) asked me: You read "O sister of Harun" (i.e. Maryam) in the Qur'an, whereas Moses was born much before Jesus. When I came back to Allah's Messenger(P) I asked him about that, whereupon he said: The (people of the old age) used to give names (to their persons) after the names of Apostle and pious persons who had gone before them. And so that's why with the analisys that i has brought above, match with what the prophet s.a.w. has been said. And the word of mary can be resulted by saying "Sister of Aaron".019.028 O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a wicked man nor was thy mother a harlot. And we pay attention to the verse also, the jews was using the piousity thing, by the time using the a pious person. This is as far as i can give for the explanation. And this one of Islamic answer regarding on this "Polemic" among you (non muslim) to us.Wallahu a'lam.

I do not really understand what you are saying here Ricky your english is to broken for me to get it very straight But scripture is very clear Miriam and Mary (mother of Christ and Mary Magdelene are all differtent people It sounds like Quran does have these mixed up Miriam was Aaron sister from tribe of Levi Mary (mother of Jesus is decentant of David Mary Magdelene was follower of Jesus after he cast demons from herMatthew 27:61Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb.Matthew 28:1[ The Resurrection ] After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.Mark 15:40Some women were watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome. Mark 15:47Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses saw where he was laid. Mark 16:1[ The Resurrection ] When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus' body. Exodus 15:20Then Miriam the prophetess, Aaron's sister, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women followed her, with tambourines and dancing. As far as I remember this is the only Miriam besides a minor person in the Bible and it was long before Mary Mother of JesusMiryam Miriam = "rebellion"1) elder sister of Moses and Aaron2) a woman of Judah............................Maria Mary or Miriam = "their rebellion"1) Mary the mother of Jesus2) Mary Magdalene, a women from Magdala3) Mary, the sister of Lazarus and Martha4) Mary of Cleophas the mother of James the less5) Mary the mother of John Mark, a sister of Barnabas6) Mary, a Roman Christian who is greeted by Paul in Rom. 16:6You can see there was quite a few Mary's

A'udzubillaahiminasysyaithonirrojiimBismillaahirrohmaanirrohiimYusuf Ali:[019:027] At length she brought the (babe) to her people, carrying him (in her arms). Theysaid : "O Mary! truly an amazing thing hast thou brought![019:028] "O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a woman unchaste!"These two verses were the dialog between her people(Jews) with Mary mother of Jesus(pbuh). At the first time Jews was saying to Mary with called her sure name, at the second time(which is in the second verse above) they called Mary with the one who has thus name at the first time, which thus person was a pios person. So eventhough those Jews naming of her with "sister of Aaron" that's doesn't mean that mary mother of jesus was sister of Aaron really is. But that was because her name actually taken from pious person to jews. And prophet Muhammad s.a.w. says something like this below :It turns out that Christians in Najran during the time of the Prophet(P) raised a similar objection and it was answered by the Prophet(P). And word of Miriam was the first time shows up in the name of sister Moses and Aaron which one of the pious person to Jews.Mary (mother of Jesus)Hebrew: Miriam.http://www.christiananswers.net/dictionary...herofjesus.htmlSo that verse was nothing todo with DNA or blood to sister Aaron. Now, could you tell me how to explaint this verse below ?In the Bible, Elizabeth was called daughters of Aaron(P). Was she literally a daughter of Aaron? In the days of Herod, King of Judea, there was a priest named Zechari'ah, of the division of Abi'jah; and he had a wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth. [Luke 1:5, RSV]Wallahu a'lam.

A'udzubillaahiminasysyaithonirrojiimBismillaahirrohmaanirrohiimDear Kriss,I've something interesting that perhaps we can discuss, still regarding on this thread. In recently i have read an articles, and bible commentary by Gill and Clarke(e-Sword).Luke 1:5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. In here i have found something interesting regarding on this verse1st. "Luke 1:5. ...and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth"; The same name with אלישבע. "Elisheba", the wife of Aaron, Exodus 6:23So I don't know where is the idea of Luke get inspired, so he get wrong on it.2nd. If in this verse (Luke 1:5), Elizabeth was considered as descend to Aaron, then Mary mother of Jesus can be considered descend also to Aaron. I've got the verse in NT about that telling this mater in Luke 1:36.1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 1:36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. The word cousin on that verse with greek.G4773συγγενήςsuggenēssoong-ghen-ace'From G4862 and G1085; a relative (by blood); by extension a fellow countryman: - cousin, kin (-sfolk, -sman).And Gill Commentaries at E-Sword has described like this way : Luk 1:36 - And behold thy cousin Elisabeth,.... For though Elisabeth was of the daughters of Aaron, or of the tribe of Levi by her father's side, yet might be of the tribe of Judah by her mother's side, and so akin to Mary.Wallahu a'lam.

23And Aaron took him Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab, sister of Naashon, to wife; and she bare him Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.5THERE was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. If I understand your question Ricky we are talking two different people a Mother Elisheba,Wife of Aaron and a daughter of Aaron Elizabeth (most likley named after her mother Elisheba)the children of Aaron and Elisheba were sons mentioned and daughters It was this daughter of Aaron and Elisheba called Elizabeth that was married to Zacharias who was barren till old age and became the mother of John the Baptist. She was Marys cousin

Dear Wise Heaven and Kriss,By bring in my previous post, there are two points at least that we can discuss.1st. It's about Elizabeth daughters of Aaron, which is so far as i concern, none of the daughter of Aaron has that name. Then where did Luke got thus idea by saying Elizabeth was daughter of Aaron ?2nd. Regarding on Geneology Mary mother of Jesus, from here we also can see that, Mary was also has blood or geneology to Aaron. Why ? Because Mary mother of Jesus was cousin with blood to Elizabeth which also has blood trough Aaron. So if thus verse of Luke 1:5 was considered truth. Then from the 2nd point, Mary mother of Jesus was descend or has DNA or has lineage through Aaron. And I hope that also can answer the problem regarding on verse Maryam(19):28.Wallahu a'lam.

A'udzubillaahiminasysyaithonirrojiimBismillaahirrohmaanirrohimAnd here another article that perhaps could solve the problem.O SISTER OF AARONMughirah Ibn Shu-bah®, a companion of the Prophet Muhammad(s) relates that He was receiting the Qur'an before Christians in Najran and whilst reciting the Ayah:~At length she brought the (babe) to her people, carrying him (in her arms). They said: "O Mary! Truly an amazing thing hast thou brought! "O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a woman unchaste!"~~{Qur'ân 19:27-28}~The Christians confronted Him and said:~"You read "O sister of Harun" (i.e. Maryam) in the Qur'ân, whereas Moses was born much before Jesus."~Mughira Ibn Shu-bah® did not know the answer so when He came back to the Prophet(s) He asked Muhammad(s) about it, where upon Muhammad(s)said:~"The (people of the old age) used to give names (to their persons) after the names of Apostle and pious persons who had gone before them."~~{Sahih Muslim-Kitaab al adab-vol 3-Hadeeth#[2135]-}~This Hadeeth of the Prophet opens up 2 avenues of explanation:1} Many Islamic scholars say that Mary® had a brother named after Prophet Aaron which could have been possible as many of us (like the Prophet(s) says) give names to our children after the names of Apostles and pious persons.2} Abdullah Yusif Ali says in his commentary ~"Mary® is reminded of Her high lineage"~ meaning that She was a blood descendant of Prophet Aaron and Mosesand She was given a title of honour after a name of an Apostle of which lineage She came from.Even though Mary could possibly had a brother in her lifetime named after Prophet Aaron explaination 2 is a definite. However i have found orienlentalists not to be satisfied with the satisfactory answer that the Prophet(s)has given and furthermore they still accuse the Prophet(s)of anachronism.ANACHRONISMAnachronism means something that is out of harmony with the period in which it was placed in which the oreinlentalists accuse Muhammad(s) of confusing 2 different personality’s (Miriam® and Maryam®) and the time periods they lived in.The Bible tells us that the a man by the name of Amram bore 3 chidren, Moses, Aaron and Miriam®~"And the name of Amram's wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, whom her mother bare to Levi in Egypt: and she bare unto Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister."~{Numbers 26:59}And Miriam® was also addressed in the Bible as the sister of Aaron:~"And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances."~{Exodus 15:20}*} In the Bible we have the sister of Aaron called Miriam® who has a father called Amram®*} In the Qur'an we have Maryam® the mother of Jesus being addressed by Her people "o sister of Aaron" who also happens to have a father called Imran.for the person without knowledge this can be quite confusing, however as i have stated before the Prophet(s) was asked about this alleged anachronism and He(s) said:~"The (people of the old age) used to give names (to their persons) after the names of Apostle and pious persons who had gone before them."~~{sahih muslim}~*Meaning Maryam® was named after Miriam® which i don’t think any learned Christian would disagree because the actual name Mary derives from Miriam which in the Hebrew language means "strong"*Likewise the father of Mary® "Imran" was named after a pious person who had gone before Him called 'Amram' so really i don’t see any problem here it is exactly how the Prophet(s) has put it:~"They was given names after pious persons who had gone before them"~{Sahih Muslim}And even today we have many people around the world called Imran, Aaron ,Mary and so forth so i wonder how many familys past , present and future has a father called Imran with a son called Aaron and a daughter called Maryam? it is a very high possibility. So the charge of Anachronism has been clearly refuted by the Prophet(s) over 1400 years ago.Mary® the LeviteThere is another problem if an orienlentalist wishes to pursue further with the charge of anachronism against the Prophet(s) and that problem is that the Bible does not give us the name of Mary's® father because according to Jewish law the genealogy’s for females are not recorded in the scriptures, infact the closest record of Mary's® ancestry was spoken by the Arch Angel Gabriel when He visited Mary® to give the glad tidings of the birth of a righteous son and the news of John the Baptist:~"And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren".~{Bible luke 1:36}And Mary’s® cousin Elizabeth® was married to Prophet Zechariahs who were both Levite's descending from the noble ancestry of Prophet Moses and His brother Aaron, Elizabeth was also addressed as the daughters of Aaron:~"There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth."~{Bible Luke.1.5}Furthermore the Prophet Muhammad(s) confirmed that Mary and Jesus were from the Levite ancestry in another Hadeeth, whilst explaining to His Companions about what happened on His miraculous night journey through the seven heavens He said:~"..... When I entered (the heavens) I saw Jesus the son of Mary and John the son of Zachrais who are (2nd) cousins from the maternal side (meaning through their Mothers) and they prayed for My well being....."~{Sahih Muslim , Vol 1, Kitab al iman, chapter 74, Hadeeth #[162]}So if John the Baptist was a Levite and Jesus was His cousin related from the maternal side that means Mary® must have been a Levite and not a descendant of Judah like many Christians think, because intermarrying was forbidden between the 12 tribes of Israel ,Judites were not allowed to marry Levites. Why sister of Aaron? So why is Mary addressed in the Quran as the sister of Aaron? And why is She not addressed as the sister of Moses, Solomon, Judah etc, etc?*} After Mary® had given birth to Jesus She went back to Her people carrying the baby in Her arms and with Mary® being unmarried Her people started accusing Mary® of doing a shameful act and dishonouring Her Levitical ancestry, so they said "O sister of Aaron Your Father was not a man of evil nor was your Mother unchaste!" but She pointed to the baby and by miracle baby Jesus defended His mother against the charge of Her people {Surah Maryam 19 ayah's 27-33} which couldn’t be said if the Jews would have called Her "O sister of Judah"~{Bible-Genesis 38:13-30,(
cool.gif
Deuteronomy 23:2,© Matthew 1:3}~Also in the Bible Elizabeth® is given the title "daughters of Aaron" and it is common sense that She isn’t the actual daughter of Aaron but this title is a title of respect and honour because of Her noble ancestry, now why isn’t Elizabeth® called the daughters of Moses and so forth?Another problem the orienlentist has difficulty understanding is why is Mary® called the sister of Aaron and not the Daughter of Aaron and they claim that "In those days people were only named as sons or daughters (never brothers or sisters, incidentally) of people from whom they directly descended" but according to the Bible God(s) says to Moses:~"I shall raise them up a Prophet from amongst their brethren"~(meaning brothers){Deuteronomy 18:18}Now according to Christian theologians this prophecy is referring to Jesus, "Their" refers to the Judaic tribe and "brethren" refers to the generations to come, so if this prophecy is in concordance with Jesus then Jesus is the "Brethren of Judah" in Biblical termsSo why does it say that this prophet is to come from amongst their Brethren/brothers and why not from amongst their sons? Shouldn’t it say, "I will raise them a prophet from amongst their sons"?~All praise to God(s) and infinite peace and blessings be upon Muhammad(s), His companions and His family~Source : http://uiforum.uaeforum.org/showthread.php?t=4901Wallahu a'lam.

Marys genealogy is in Luke 3:23- it is shown through her fatherMary was a direct descendant of King David which gave Jesus the right to ascend the Jewish throne, both through Mary and through adoption by his foster father, Joseph. Henry M. Marys genealogy is in Luke 3:23- it is shown through her fatherMary was a direct descendant of King David which gave Jesus the right to ascend the Jewish throne, both through Mary and through adoption by his foster father, Joseph. Henry M. Because of your and amy asking about DNA of Mary to Aaron, i already give you the relation between.Again regarding on Sura Maryam, the meaning of Sister of Aaron from Jews saying to Mary was not in the literally meaning, as the same thing to Elizabeth in Luke 1:5.And if i'm not mistake you are asking about the DNA/blood line between Mary mother of Jesus through Aaron. And i already gave, that she(Mary-mother of Jesus) has that line too. If Elizabeth was considered as lineage to Aaron, then Mary cousins was Elizabeth (which is blood cousin between both), that's mean Mary mother of Jesus has line thorugh Aaron. If you are try to find through blood line through her father perhaps that doesn't match, but it is possible for her(mother of Jesus) has lineage through her mother which is that possibility is strong, because Mary has cousin which blood line cousin to Elizabeth which has linage through Aaron.Wallahu a'lam.
