don't really understand this chapter. It seems very relevant being that an entire chapter was devoted to it, but God told John not to release what the angel had said. Does anyone have any idea why? And what is the little book about that John had to eat? What is the symbolism of it being sweet in his mouth and bitter in his stomach?

THE LITTLE BOOK; (The Bible...The Word) IS EITHER ALL OR A PORTION OF THE WORD OF GOD DEALING WITH THE JUDGMENTS...John obeys. At times the word of God is both sweet and bitter. The Prophet Jeremiah stated:Thy words were found and I did eat them; And thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart Jeremiah 15:16The psalmist also declared in Psalm 119:103, How sweet are thy words unto my taste!Yea sweeter than honey t my mouth! Now John, following the angel’s instruction also finds the Word of God sweet as honey. This is because he can see the light he envisions the established kingdom,The Bride sitting beside the Bridegroom and the peace and prosperity prevalent. What sweetness! What blessing!Yet as John learns of the remaining judgments still to be released the Word becomes bitter in his digestive tract.

charleychacko, The description of the strong angel mentioned at Rev 10:1,2, this angel is Jesus. THe things that take place are to be just before the sounding of the seventh trumpet. Notice that the seventh trumpet is sounded at Rev 11:15, and stated that the Kingdom of the World did become the Kingdom of the Lord and of His Christ. By stating about the Kingdom in this way it means the Kingdom is taking on a new and diferent way. Here it is talking about the time when Jesus takes over the earth, and sets up the Heavenly Kingdom. Back to Rev 10:9-11, which would happen just before the setting up of The Kingdom. This eating of the Little Scrool, and being sweet in his mouth means that the scrool had in it a message that was good for God's true Christians. The being bitter after having been assimulated means that it is going to be a bitter message for all people who do not know God or obey the Good News about the Lord, 2Thes 1:6-9. When it says to go and prophesy again, it probably means a condemnatory message for all who say they know God but do not obey His commandments, Titus 1:16, Matt 7:13,14 Matt 7:21-23, Luke 13:23,24.
