I have never read the book, but I do believe that 9-11 was a prophetic happening. And if the things that he said took place regarding the tree, and the Isaiah passage, then even if he is not walking with God to holiness does not mean that it was not prophesy coming to pass. Many ungodly people are used to fulfill prophecy or proclaiming prophecy without even knowing it such as Judas to betray Jesus, Harod, Pharaoh, etc.... Even Pilate when he examined the Passover LAMB and said that he was perfect for our sacrifice and then when he made the title bar declaring that Jesus Was the King of the Jews even when they none really knew it. He did not write it on his own, but by the Spirit of God was he moved, rather Pilate knew it or not, to write Jesus' title and retracted it not to the glory of God!

Luke 23:4
4 Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man.
KJV
John 19:19-22
19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
20 This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.
21 Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.
22 Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.

I read the book and, being a skeptical person by nature, looked up negative reviews online. Most of the negative reviews weren't very good. They seemed to put words in the author's mouth, implying for example, he identified America with Israel, which he didn't. The second link in HammerStone's post looks to be a much better negative review.

I don't know if I'd call it prophecy, but some of the coincidences with Isaiah 9:10 are interesting, especially the sycamore/pine thing. My wife and I were at Ground Zero a few months after the attack (in December), right next to St. Paul's Chapel. We both remember being amazed to see the Chapel building dusty but completely unharmed. The book brought this back to our minds.

Regardless of whether the book speaks truth or not, I do agree it's a bad idea for America to build or rebuild (buildings, the economy, etc.) while purposely leaving God out. We do need to humble ourselves before God and repent.

Amen faithful!
The parallels between Isaiah and America are very chilling indeed. We would do well to take heed.
The information about the trees is very telling, God has always used trees to identify nations in the Bible.
It is most interesting that Obama took a myrtle tree to Israel in March to give the Prime Minister.
Here is an interview from the author himself. I think you should listen to what he has to say first before taking any stock in his detractors.
It's a 2 part interview:

I have read the book and have met the author .

Yes , he makes some very interesting comparisons of America to Isaiah 9 etc.

Even if the comparisons are coincidence .... it still is a good book urging America to turn back to God .

I think that is the intent of the book , and I think we would all agree with Mr Cahn

The reason the parallels between America and Israel are there is because we are the same people, the ancient migrating tribes of the house of Israel that became many nations as foretold. The Jews are only Judah, and only part of them at that. So Isaiah 9 does not apply to the Jews, but to America (notice that Ephraim is the context of that passage). While traditionally the Commonwealth was identified as Ephraim, and the USA Manasseh, there have been some who reversed the roles as the British Commonwealth faded. But it's just that they enjoyed their heyday sooner and the USA is (or I should say was) enjoying theirs just this past century. (see Isaiah 9:21 in the same chapter for a hint at reversal). Nevertheless, it does not bother me as those two tribes of Israel were from one tribe, and are both synonymous with the house of Israel having the birthright.

As close as the parallels are, and as good as the book is, I'm surprised that the author does not get an "aha!" experience and simply admit that America is Israel. If this is not enough of a clue (and verification) that the USA are some of the lost tribes, I don't know what is --- since the prophecy was directed at Ephraim, Yahweh would not apply it to just any Gentile nation.

The Lord sent a word against Jacob, And it has fallen on Israel.
