I hope for your sakes too that America first doesn't end up meaning America alone. Hope your administration down there is considering all the domino affects of what they are doing. The tariffs and "stick-it-to-you" rhetoric are affecting more things than just money.

Anyway.....the "good and evil" of this fallen world. What might seem good in one way can turn out to be evil in other ways. It's all in God's hands. Only His blessing addeth no sorrow to it......... if/when He is blessing.

Let us compare a something besides food . A made in the USA Case pocket knife , like I have owned matter of fact .

If my math is right the Netherlands price would translate to @ $56 US dollars . Looks like @ 20% increase .
EU tariff on USA goods is said to 39% on the chart from DJT .

USA price I found was anywhere from $33 to $41 .

It means being unequally yoked. What does HOLY mean to you my dear brother? It means to be set apart, separate.......ie, not unequally yoked. Being unequally yoked is a mixture, which God hates, and renders the holy unclean. Mixture = unclean.

Forgot to mention......Christians in secular jobs (which includes politics) can take Daniel in Babylon and Joseph in Egypt as examples of Godliness in those worldly spheres. And whatsoever you do, do it as unto the Lord.

I was really hoping you'd be more specific. I'm guessing then that you believe no Christian should be involved in any government or policy making organizations? That any who holds public office, or works for the government, if they should become a Christian, that they should quit and find other employment?

Does it mean Christians should never vote? That we are to leave our governance solely and entirely in unbeliever's hands?

Am I on the right track here? If not, can you be more clear?

This describes all children of God equally. We do whatever it is God sets us to do as unto Him. Daniel, Joseph, excellent examples! I'm still not seeing the conflict. I think everyone benefits from having leaders that are more inclined to do what is right than what is wrong. And if someone who is a Christian isn't more inclined to doing right, well, Houston, we have a problem!

If you want or need to renegotiate trade deals you have every right to do that I"m sure....but there is no need to be belligerent about it. Doesn't seem wise to make enemies out of your own allies, especially in times like these. I don't understand all the ins and outs of the tariffs, but I wonder if smaller economies have needed some tariffs in place in order to balance things out to remain reasonably competitive with a much larger economy like the USA. Not out of any kind of petulance or vindictiveness.

And I'm no expert but I have been wondering whether more delicacy might be wise in order not to crash the whole economic system.

Being in the world but not of it, is another way of saying it, I think brother. That doesn't mean to go and be a hermit on a mountaintop, of course we have to interact with this world, while not being unequally yoked with it. Which to me means not being joined/united spiritually with it, at the heart level. We have not received the spirit of the world. We are to maintain our separateness from it. We should be walking to the beat of a different drum, walking in a different kingdom. Just temporary ambassadors of another kingdom here, not belonging to the world.
