3 - The 6th king in Revelation 17 is the one that persecutes the saints. Roman emperors are (1) Julius, (2) Augustus, (3) Tiberius, (4) Caligula, (5) Claudius, then (6) Nero. Nero was the first and only Roman Caesar of the Julian line to persecute Christians. Nero's death ended the Julian dynasty. The one ruling after him reigned only a little while, Galba, 6 months who was the seventh.

This can be found in any history book of the Roman Leaders who started with Julius Caesar from July 100 BC to 15 March 44 BC.

If you have found another sequence for Revelation 17 from a reputable source please post it for us all to learn your views.

If you do not make any further posts concerning my other questions that are the true focus of this thread, may we cordially agree to disagree with each others views towards sound-doctrines that promote godliness in those we might ever mentor? While hopefully “remembering” the focus of this thread which is to strive to build up Jesus' inheritances with doctrines that do not "slander" our Father God's vision for us "all", whereby "all" would "always" include some heretical sinners as Paul had become, as well as those saints as Timothy apparently was from a very young age?

Whereby Holy scripture is plain [See “+” note below] that our Creator Father God in Heaven is tirelessly working towards His “hope” that "all" of His prodigal children would “eventually” become "converted" on a daily or moment by moment basis towards “doing” the simplicity of the gospel messages in our present life-times, and eventually also into the eternity ahead for each of us when we would pass over.

[+: <> 2 Peter 3:9 - - The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
<><
<> 1 Timothy 1:16 - - Paul wrote: But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.
<><
<> Colossians 1:20 - - And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
<><
<> Matthew 20:12 - - Saying, ‘These last worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat.’]

Ultimately at the end of our days let us each have trusted in Christ Jesus for our individual eternal salvation, and then for today may we continually strive to resist evil in all of its forms that we may ever see in our lives, so we each might become more abundantly fruitful in building up Jesus' inheritances within the earth.

We are all in training to be a little more like Jesus every day, one day and one step at a time.

Again, thank you for your posts and prayers. They will eventually be fruitful towards everyone who might someday read this thread.

Poppin, you are more than welcome here at CyB and I believe what you have said. I am also not a preterist either but believe that some passages of scripture describe the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD while other scriptures are for future events.....

Bless you!
Thank you Angelina. I will try not to offend what others believe, even as i do state what i believe. i know i can be wrong and am probably wrong in very much. i love to learn. i am just reading for now, getting to know the beliefs of members so i might be sensitive to their souls.
Strife is not good. i am not a preterist (one who thinks the 2nd coming was in 70ad). i hope that clears up that.

Thank you brother DaDad. I have some areas of Our Lord's teachings, His Holy Words that i have spent time in especially. Though i have studied all of it at some time or other. I love the Gospels and the epistles.
I determined some years ago to understand if i could both Daniel and Revelation.
My eschatological position, or viewpoint is Amillennial, and that would be my presupposition; or assumption. though i believe it can be shown to be the Biblical view. I found that after studying Daniel very careful; alongside his contemporaries, and in placing Jesus' mention of daniel's prophecies, i was actually able to match it to historical events which are now past. aside from principles for life and revelations concerning the Character of God, i do not believe any portion of the Book of Daniel remains see fulfillment. i understand this position stands in opposition by its very nature to the Dispensationalist view which places some much of Daniel in our future. that's okay.
I would like to share those studies one day. I hope you would join me into looking into the scriptures, to see if these things are so.
love in Jesus Christ Our Lord,
Poppin.
(sorry for any disruption from the topic - i also believe that the Bible has internal witnesses to the early dating of the book of Revelation, and that the church father's quotes, as sparse as they are, have been taken out of context, and actually may even support the idea of an earlier dating). But i do not wish to argue with people, only to argue viewpoints. argue is a word that worries me. haha

Hi ASoJC,

As suggested, I do not agree that either the "Early Date", as argued by Scriptural-basis opinion, or "Late Date", as argued by historical evidence, is correct. (Please note that this is no different that the "legion" of interpretations, [New Bible Commentary: Revised], for Daniel 9.)

Where I previously cited Walvoord's book title, Daniel, the Key to Prophetic Revelation, that the seven mountains / world empires are readily identified in that book, as concurred with in Chapters 2,7,8, & 11, and Revelation 13 & 17. As such these depictions complete an interwoven tapestry in full agreement with world history.

As such, we will know the one who "is", (written in future-present-tense), when it attacks Israel.

Hi all,

It would appear that for the present we each have a different focus for our life-efforts that we each have likely been “encouraged” to pursue by our various teachers.

Some theologians, such as Calvin, have taught their followers to not strive to maintain a supernatural personal and powerful “relationship” with our Creator's Holy Spirit, and that also we should lethargically and fatalistically “wait” for our Creator's “supposedly” unchangeable preordained judgments, as if these judgments would be impossible for the Church of Jesus to stand in the gap against them; even though as has been written in Revelation 9:18 the present god of this world, Beelzebub, has now empowered mankind with the potential to burn-up 1/3 rd of our Creator's impoverished children.

My own Holy teachers have taught me that “all things are possible” for any situation and for every culture, no matter how many of Beelzebub's hordes would want to see that culture burnt-up, IF-ONLY the converted believers within that culture would strive to follow the prophetic admonitions that “promise” that all potential judgments can be repented of, AND IF-ONLY the converted believers within that culture would strive to work in concert with Jesus' ongoing efforts to destroy the works of the Devil, Beelzebub, as encouraged in 1 John 3:8.

For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. - - 1 John 3:8

The following scriptures would apply to “all” of us in our “perilious” “last-days” generation.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May those who love you be secure. - - Psalm 122:6

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. - - 2 Chronicles 7:14

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” - - Mark 9:23

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. - - John 3:17

And Ezekiel, (who was “less” than any person who would be within the Kingdom of Heaven, [as Jesus taught in Matthew 11:11]), opined during his day:

Your leaders are like wolves who tear apart their victims. They actually destroy people’s lives for money! And your prophets cover up for them by announcing false visions and making lying predictions. They say, ‘My message is from the Sovereign Lord,’ when the Lord hasn’t spoken a single word to them. Even common people oppress the poor, rob the needy, and deprive foreigners of justice. - - Ezekiel 22:27-31

AND speaking for God he wrote about himself as well as all others in his country when he wrote:

I looked for some who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one. So now I will pour out my fury on them, consuming them with the fire of my anger. I will heap on their heads the full penalty for all their sins. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!” - - Ezekiel 22:27-31

Ultimately at the end of our days let us each have trusted in Jesus for our individual eternal salvation and then for today may we continually strive to resist evil in all of its forms that we may ever see in our lives, so we each might become more abundantly fruitful in building up Jesus' inheritances within the earth.

PS - My fervent prayer are that some would take time to consider becoming a more integral-part in working alongside the heavenly host of highly educated and technological angels that sacrificed for ages to build the New Jerusalem that Abraham looked forward to seeing, and what we “all” might see someday as seen in the attached image to Post #61 “NewJerusalem ForTheSaints _gif.gif” and as taught in Revelation 21 and by a Holy (i.e. set-apart-for-service) and faith-filled Paul in Colossians 1:20. Hi all,

If I may let me continue with the focus of my previous post.

Scripture is plain that what believing disciples need to “recruit” and "mentor", i.e. "disciple", via our life efforts are more "converting" "believers" who would be like Paul and Peter and Jesus in standing against “doctrines-of-men” for what they are, i.e. "tares" via the scriptures, that hinder the building-up, i.e. "strengthening", of the courage and virtuousness within Jesus' inheritances.

This is the reason why Revelation 21 was written exactly as it has been written in order to en-courage believers to be better “mentoring” disciples themselves, who would then strive to help other faithful men to disciple themselves as well.

Ultimately whenever we would fail ourselves or others in the eternity ahead, Jesus will eternally be our good shepherd, who will eternally be watching over us amongst the much more disciplined Heavenly Host, since in comparison for ages to come we will oftentimes be similar to stupid fearful and inept sheep.

While mankind is still here on the earth our Creator God “will-be” glorified in spite of Beelzebub's wiles, and Jesus has made the way for anyone to glorify His father through a simple acceptance of His Lordship and by simply becoming a member of Jesus' flock of sheep in order to have eternal life in Heaven, even if receiving Jesus as Lord on one's final day occurred in a similar manner as the thief on the cross, or in the powerfully persuasive way as occurred with Paul when he was struck blind on the road to Damascus. The thief on the cross was a prodigal son that was accepted back into His Creator's household on his final day, although his relationship- inheritances as his earned- rewards in Heaven were possibly fairly meager, except for his testimony while on his cross that was written into the scriptures.

As written in Revelation 21:8 there will be no immorality or debauchery in Heaven because no one will be “tempted” in our thoughts by Beelzebub's minions as we “all” have oftentimes been tempted in the earth. And there will be no non-virtuous cowards there because Beelzebub's fears will not tempt anyone there, and we will “all” have eternal life and will continually be encouraged by God's joyful presence to pursue the prudence and virtue that comes with that form of life in order to work fruitfully alongside Jesus and His Heavenly Host of ancient angels.

Revelation 21:8 was “allowed” into the scriptures not so that “religious” people would promote scornful bigotries against prodigal "self-destructively" "oppressed" sinners, but to encourage Saints and prodigals alike to make the right choices, so that they would not be ashamed when they would see Jesus on their final day, (as Paul and the thief on the cross once were ashamed of their past life), at which time Beelzebub would no longer have influence over their life in the flesh.

For all of mankind, past present and future, accepting Jesus' love for them has always been and will always be how easy it will ever be to enter into His Kingdom. [+] Just at your final moments say “yes Jesus, please be my Lord and Saviour and now that my eyes can finally see you face to face I will follow wherever you ask me to go,” and then follow the Master homeward or go with one of His angels when they come for you, and one's final choice will then glorify God with their passing upward to the dwellings Jesus and His Heavenly Host had begun building for us “all” from before the foundations of the earth.

[+: Matthew 20:12 - - ‘These who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat of the day.’]

So that with this “eternally” fruitful theology now being highlighted via this thread concerning our Shekhinah Creator's obvious infinite love for us all from His eternity past into our eternity future, rather than debating on-on-one any subtly flawed nuances in each others posts, what would be much more fruitful in “helping” Jesus and the Holy Spirit to stand against doctrines-of-men, would be by writing your own views into website threads that would fulfill James 3:17 [+] by being easy to be received by others, without being “disrespectful” towards others.

[+: James 3:17 - - But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be received, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.]

Ultimately at the end of our days let us each have trusted in Jesus for our individual eternal salvation, and then for today may we continually strive to resist evil in all of its forms that we may ever see in our lives, so we each might become more abundantly fruitful in building up Jesus' inheritances within the earth.

The Parable of the Lost Son

Luke 15:17-24 - - 17 “But when he (the prodigal son) came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”’

20 “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.

This parable is how Jesus taught others of the love of His Father towards "all" of His prodigal children.

Why have doctrines of men consistently been so slanderous against our Father God's vision for us all?

Simply because our battles in the flesh and in our thoughts and in our views have never truly been against flesh and blood, but have been against powers in the spiritual realm that influence His children to make bad choices and to accept untrue views about the eternal character and vision of our Shekhinah Father God in Heaven; and also untrue views about His many many other children in many cultures around the world who are loving others in spite of the many oppressions that more easily occur from a poor understanding about our Heavenly Father's love for us all.

Romans 10:12-17 - - 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 and how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

PS - My fervent prayer are that some would take time to consider becoming a more integral-part in working alongside the heavenly host of highly educated and technological angels that sacrificed for ages to build the New Jerusalem that Abraham looked forward to seeing, and what we “all” might see someday as seen in the attached image to Post #61 “NewJerusalem ForTheSaints _gif.gif” and as taught in Revelation 21 and by a Holy (i.e. set-apart-for-service) and faith-filled Paul in Colossians 1:20. 2 Peter 3:10&18 -- But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. . . . Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless ones and fall from your secure position. Scripture plainly states God agape- loves His “prodigal” children that have squandered their inheritance even though He has NOT had an ongoing phileo- love relationship with them, just- as- much as He agape-loves any Saint who He does have an ongoing covenant relationship with, and who have worked in His fields to build up Jesus' inheritances as well as their own inheritances since they will someday be “chosen” to eternally become His joint-heirs.

When we have an ongoing "relationship" with Jesus then with the help of the Holy Spirit all of the “suicidally- self- destructive” and fruitless non-encouraging demonically inspired "doctrines- of- men" begin to become obvious, until one has the virtue to stand against them, as best as one might be able as Paul continually did until his work in the earth was finished. This is what a "converted" believer is called to do,
to proclaim the good news of our Father God's infinite love to sinners, which is everyone who has ever lived in the flesh.

For all of mankind, past present and future, accepting Jesus' love for them has always been and will always be how easy it will ever be to enter into His Kingdom. [+] Just at your final moments say “yes Jesus, please be my Lord and Savior and now that my eyes can finally see you face- to- face I will forever follow you wherever you ask me to go,” and then follow the Master homeward or go with one of His angels when they come for you, and one's final choice will then glorify God with their passing upward to the dwellings Jesus and His Heavenly Host had begun building for us “all” from before the foundations of the earth.

Luke 7:39-43 - - 39 Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner. 40 And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on. 41 There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. 42 And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most? 43 Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

<><
<><

With this said, the focus of this thread is to admonish people to understand that demonically inspired “doctrines- of- men” who used the scriptures as a "proof-text" encouraged the 1st Century Hebrews to make choices that provoked "prodigal" mankind to destroy Jerusalem in 70AD. [**] So let us mentor and encourage any believers who are "converted" to stand against demonically inspired “doctrines- of- men”, lest similar doctrines that would slander God's vision for us "all" would cause other cultures to be destroyed in our own last-day's generation.

<><

[**: Matthew 5:13-16 - - Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Hello AServantofJC; that was an interesting read; I agree with some of what you say, especially the earlier writing of Revelation by John.
I/we have done a special study of Revelation, and have written a Web-site in some detail.
If you are able, I would welcome a discussion with you after you have perused that site: www.revelationsmessage.co.uk
Regards.

Caesar Nero's name in Hebrew gematria adds up to 666.
Many have tried to present Nero as the Antichrist (as you have). But that simply will not wash. Why? Because Nero never ruled over the WHOLE WORLD, while the Antichrist will definitely do so.

And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (Rev 13:7,8)

FYI, AServantofJC last posted 8 years ago. Don't know why they even display this thread, it didn't go far then. We can all refute it but what is the point.
