Our flag does not fly because the wind moves it. It flies with each breath of each soldier who died protecting it

Tomorrow,May 26th is Memorial Day in America. A time to reflect upon all who served in our military and made the ultimate sacrifice so we the people would live free today.

Tomorrow is a time when we can give back on a day that is to commemorate all that they, our soldiers, gave up for us.

What can you do? Suggestions are most welcome.

Visit the local cemetery and those headstones that commemorate a soldier at rest. Bring a little American flag and place it there.

Here, there are very old graves of soldiers from the first World War onward.
Many never have flowers placed because their families are possibly long passed away too now.

If you see a Veteran in line in front of you at a store, thank them for their service. What a blessing they made it home.

If you can afford it,buy the items they're waiting to check out . If you're at a restaurant, pick up their check.

Gratitude means a lot.

And for all those men and women who proudly serve today, BLESS YOU! For believing securing our freedom is worth your life.

And to all who served and are now retired. BLESS YOU! I am so grateful you made it home.
And thank you! From the bottom of my heart.

Well said. Though I don't think any life is wasted. We all serve God's purpose.

Odd, I always believed that God was my protector, my rock, my fortress, my shield.

But now I'm told I should thank a bunch of mercenaries on the other side of the world.

War is racket people. And those who sign up to participate in the bloodshed are not protectors, and if they are, what exactly are they protecting? The interests of a global political machine, thats what. Or more precisely, the beast system that has nearly enslaved the entire world.

The enemies are not at the gates, they are within. Who let them in? And why are they still here? Because either the oath to defend has been forsaken, or those who took the oath are too ignorant to know who the true enemies are.

I really don't see much cause for celebration here, but you all go right ahead and wave those flags.

Nothing is so shame filled as an ignorant ungrateful fool.

Yes,our flag waves despite them.
Thank God

Our flag?

Christ declared to Pilate, that He was indeed a King, but that His Kingdom was not of this world. Hence, our Kingdom is not of this world. If we do have a flag, it flies in another realm.

"Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier."
2 Timothy

God and Country, I'm all for it.
And warfare, oh absolutely.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
Ephesians

"You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God."
JJohn

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
1 John

I love my Country.
His Kingdom.
And many of us will in all likelihood be dying for our country very soon.
His Kingdom

And at the hands of those whom you are now currently praising for protecting your flag and keeping you safe. And just like every other soldier throughout history who turned his weapon upon his own people, they will say that they were just following orders.

There will be many who refuse those orders, God bless them and be merciful to them and keep them safe.

But by then it will be too late.

There's nothing in this world worth fighting and dying for outside of our family and maybe a small circle of friends, and if we are very fortunate, our local community.

Germany was a Christian nation too.
How did that work out?
And Russia as well.

I am very grateful.
Just not for the same things.

I'm grateful that my Grandfather came home from WWII and married my grandma. I'm grateful that my dad was stateside during Viet Nam. I'm grateful that my son managed 10 years in the Navy and never fired a weapon outside of qualifying school.

War is racket.
The glorification of war is ignorance.

When America is invaded, and it will be, in fact the invasion has already begun. All of our defenders, will be on the other side of the world defending someone else's flag and freedoms, allegedly.

I'm sorry ma'am. Being a soldier may have once been an honorable profession, and for the honorable, however misguided and misinformed, it still is. God bless them. But for most of these kids, its just a job, nothing more than a very poor career choice.
