Classic sardiseans... Doctrine in the head... Little in the heart... Except for a ton of ego.

There is in metaphor of the mother duck and her ducklings the same as a Shepard and his sheep.

Yes. Joel Osteen
From what I heard, Joel Osteen reads the Bible. He doesn't discuss any theology mainly because he doesn't have one. He's more into self-help, but he does it by applying God into it.

Yes, there is. God is the shepard and we are the sheep. The sheep knows the voice of the shepard.

I say there... I would not recommend a diet totally on Joel Osteen anymore than I would recommend a diet totally on milk and cereal. I have tried posting more in-depth doctrinal videos but no one wants to watch them.

The following Joel Osteen video I posted a little over a year ago will have over 300,000 views along about Tuesday!

I don't find him spiritually challenging as well, but he's a positive kind of guy who brings in more self-help to people. I view him more as a counselor. Joel Osteen never studied theology.

Yeah he is a popular speaker; I don't really care about his message, either way - if he isn't against us he is for us.

The things that he says in this video is common sense, and he's able to cite biblical passages that goes with it.

I agree. The message he gives is simply common sense. It is true that there is a lot of trash on TV, and watching a lot of violence can bring out violence. That has been scientifically proven among children, which is the reason why we label movies as rated R or PG.

I do believe I have pointed the resemblance out.
Two faces on the same coin. Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's Matthew 22:20-22

It's no wonder or suprize you agree with little ducks following their true mother or a saraget like the pope
I mean thats what all good catholics do isn't it? follow the pope? rockytop follows the pentacostel leaders and his favorate is Joel Osteen.

Just like Arnies story and the movie "Fly Away Home" young geese and ducks will adopt a counterfiet mother.

Hebrews 13:17 Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.

THEN it appears that WE are indeed following what the Bible says after all. God prepares us for Heaven. If one cannot submit to the authority of one's leader whom God has sent, then how does one learn to submit to God Himself??

It is not a requirement for you to like Joel Osteen and consider yourself saved. But he does bless a group of Christians within the fold. As far a leaders it is hard to find one that you can put confidence in these days like the duckling does with the mother duck.

I have no problems with Joel Osteen. As Aspen said, if he isn't against us, he is for us. Joel Osteen hasn't bashed or put down any other Christian denomination, which makes him more of a Christian.

So, are you saying then that Hebrews 13:17 is wrong?? And what makes you think that we are not following the rest of the other verses you quoted?? It appears that you are not only against the Pope, but also against Joel Osteen. Athough it's obvious that Joel Osteen has no background in theology, but what exactly did Joel Osteen did to you that you hate the guy?

I have nothing against Joel Osteen, and as far as I'm concern, there was nothing bad he said in that video Rockytopva posted. In that video, Joel Osteen mentions that there are some trash on TV. Perhaps you disagree and find absolutely no trash on TV? Or is it when Joel mentions that hanging out with the wrong people can get you in trouble?? Is that what you disagree with?? You've already branded Joel Osteen a false prophet. So, what things in that video did you disagree with that makes him a false prophet?? Joel Osteen says not to put any trash in you? Do you disagree with that?? Should you allow trash and all sorts of filth to go into you?

I would be interested to know, as well, Rex - it appears that anyone that is mentioned by someone else besides you is a false prophet or an idiot.......

Yes, I would also like to know who is the leader he follows. And if he says he follows no leader.....then how is he following the scripture in Hebrews 13:17??

As for the trios question do you aspen and selene deny that salvation is only to be found "complete" in the RCC? You know what the cataclysm says, you have to believe it before your named a member in good standing.

As for rockytop he never mentions Jesus or quotes verses he simple post Joel Osteen videos and quotes other men from the pentecostal history. As though salvation was to be found in them. Not to mention the 7 church thing and the E/c2 thing that I have seen more times than I care to remember.

So as it has been pointed out you both have a lot in common, and I see rockytop has started a new post about how he believes that the eurcrist is equally and properly represented by Baptist, Pentecostals and Catholics alike. Not to mention that Catholics don't even offer the drink to the laity I can hardly believe in that one case they are equal. Did you know that rockytop? that Catholics don't serve the wine or the symbolic drink at all to the average folk, it's only for the clergy.

What say you two aspen and Selene is the Eucharist equal between the three?

I just treated my sisters and their families to a Michigan vacation in the states northwest. Love going to Michigan's Adventure! It is a waterpark-amusement park combo with a lake in the middle.

The first thing that catches my eye as I enter the place is that there are always ducks swimming in the lake. Behind a mother duck is normally 3-9 little duckings swimming in perfect order behind her. Wherever mother duck goes, her little babes are sure to follow.

And then the next thing that catches my eye is that I always see a mother or a grandmother with about two to six little ones behind her. They will follow their lady leaders just like the ducks in the pond. Only they normally have an ice cream or something in hand.

There are much similarities between the mother duck and human mother... And much similarities between the baby ducks and the baby children. This is not only a mind thing but mainly a heart thing as the children follow their leaders with the greatest of trust, confidence, and spiritual motive. If you were to ever follow me to Michigan's Adventure and have me point this out to you I promise you it would only be too cute!

I say there! We Christian people have a responsibility to be good leaders! Like the duckling metaphor here people ought to follow us in perfect trust that we are leading them in all the best places!
That was a lovely analogy Rocky! ^_^ I enjoyed reading it. Thank you...
