Is the Bible the Final and Complete Revelation From God? From the mouth of the Lord Jesus Himself we learn that “the Scriptures testify of Me” [John.5:39]. All of their messages focus upon Him as He expounded on the Emmaus road and to His own disciples after His resurrection [Luke 24:25-27, Luke 24:44-49]. From the beginning God’s purposes have been wrapped up in the promised Seed [Christ] who will bruise the head of the serpent [Genesis 3:15]. The Lord later affirmed to Abraham that the blessings of justification and the promise of the Holy Spirit would be secured through the coming of his Seed, that is, Christ [Galatians 3:14-16]. Indeed, “all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and Amen” [2 Corinthians 1:20]. All previous messages through the prophets were partial and preparatory awaiting the full revelation of Christ who, as the Word [John 1:1, John 1:14, John 1:18], fully and finally expressed the nature and purposes of God [Hebrews 1:1-2]. What further revelation is needed beyond the record of Him who is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature? [Hebrews 1:3]. Those whom He chose and designated testified of Him in word and in the Scriptures with Divine approval and authority [Hebrews 2:3-4]. The Scriptures they penned were inspired by the Spirit as He superintended their written words [2 Peter 1:20-21]. He Himself is “the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end” [Revelation 22:13]. Christ is the sum total of all that God has spoken to man. The final expression of this is contained in the book of Revelation which was given by God to Jesus and then to John [Revelation 1:1]. This is God’s final revelation about His Son and the Son’s final revelation which He gave to His apostle [Revelation 22:16]. Anyone who adds to this final revelation will come under the judgment of God [Revelation 22:18-19]. The sufficiency of the Bible is evident because its subject is Christ in whom dwells all the fullness of Deity in bodily form [Colossians 2:9]. God has spoken to us in His Son whom He has appointed heir of all things [Hebrews 1:2]. The Qur’an adds nothing to that revelation because its focus is certainly not Christ. Simply stated, if Christ is God’s full and final revelation of Himself to man, then the book of Revelation is Christ’s own final, fitting, and authorized capstone of that revelation as noted above. When all is said and done, the Word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword and cuts whether men acknowledge it to be inspired or not. Use it, my brother, with full confidence and the Holy Spirit will bear witness with conviction to His own inspired Scriptures. http://gospelformuslims.org/bible_final.htm

No, God and man still exist, and not all things of God are nor have been revealed to man, nor has man been made perfect in His image without sin again. So it is not fianl as I understand you to put it, If I misunderstand, please accept my appology. I also contest it not complete, for the Bible as it were is still to some degree still being written. Acts I believe still continues to be written to this very day as the Body of Christ, the Church, lives on to do the will of God.

Hi Major_Minor. Please consider...Colossians 1:15 *He is the image of the invisible God*, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. 19 *For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell,* 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. -----------------Major_Minor, maybe you misunderstood the OP. God did not reveal everything that can be known to us "Deuteronomy 29:29 says, "The secret things belong to the Lord."". Revelation speaks of the content of God's communication. When the Old and New Testaments were completed, God's revelation was finished. We have, as Jude tells us, "A faith once for all delivered to the saints." And John in Revelation writes "If anything is added, it shall be added to the person, the plagues that are written in the book."So we can see the summery statement from the OP is right in line with these Biblical truths....***Simply stated, if Christ is God’s full and final revelation of Himself to man, then the book of Revelation is Christ’s own final, fitting, and authorized capstone of that revelation as noted above.*** God blessIn Christ JesusDave

I have a problem with the title. It implies finished or ended. And comes across as if God inspired the Bible, then walked off the scene. Whereas, God is still active. Revealing thru His Spirit how the Word applies in our individual lives. And revealing Himself personally to all those who seek Him. Because God's love for us, compels Him to always be reaching out, in hope, that we will choose Him. And after we choose Him, that we will grow in our understanding of Him more & more. Not sure if I could think of a better title. Maybe "the Bible is the final authority." Or "the Bible is the measuring stick." Okay, those are both pretty boring titles. On the lighter side, how about "the Bible, listen up 'cause the buck stops here."All silliness aside, I do believe the Bible is the final authority. All doctrines & teachings stand or fall based on whether they line up. And the Bible is very cohesive, considering it was penned by so many different authors (all inspired by God.)

The word of God is a marvel and a blessing, but on its own it is meaningless. We are told that even the Devil can quote scripture and that there are many false teachers. It is the Holy Spirit that allows us to know who God is, both with respect to understanding the word and with helping to know God's heart and mind. He is what makes it all possible. He glorifies Jesus and makes his teaching real. When I was an atheist, I could quote scripture. I could tell you all about Jesus, but I did not know him. I think that there are some people like this in the church, even some pastors. They use the Bible to make a point and to fill the coffers. Others know the words and believe they have power, but they have never allowed the words to penetrate their hearts. The words of God have long since been stripped of their meaning. They show neither the love of God nor live lives worthy of one who follows Christ. It isn't about the words. It is all about relationship. The words can point us in the right direction, bless us and uphold us, but they cannot save us. Only God can do that.Blessings,Dunamite

Yes! When the prophecies of the Bible are fulfilled, the end is here. God will bring those prophesies to the end and fulfill His promises, which are in the Bible.
