We don't try to control anyone we just state our view something that all you atheists seem to be such hypocrites about you spout your garbage and if we say we believe its wrong we get people like you with your holier than thou attitude. We didn't come to your site you came to ours so if you just came here to make wise cracks and spread your trash find another site.
control is done through attempts at bringing church and state together. making laws based on a faith or a religion that must be obeyed by those who don't see things the same way as you, that's control. and please don't respond with "well some people might not see murder the same way, should they be allowed to murder?" cause we both know the difference between things that cause harm and don't. i never said i was an atheist, where do you get off? that's actually quite insulting. just because i choose to look at things from a human stand point instead of a religious standpoint does not mean that i believe in god any less than you do. i think the "holier than thou" attitude could be applied to you.i didn't come to "your" site to do anything. why do you presume to know all about me? you have no idea what my beliefs or intentions are. the topic is "what should be the christian's response to the homosexual" and i told you what i thought it should be. i don't understand where i've done anything differently than anyone else, or you for that matter.

you claim not to be a christian in your profile you are a non-believer you defend things that are against God. So stop trying to act like you are something you are not. Every post you have made is to make a point our view is wrong and yours is right so don't claim this righteous indignation with me. Even your name is a warning to who you are. You want to come on our site defend things we find offensive accuse us of trying to control people because we dare believe something different then you .Then act like I insult you. Again with the hypocrisy you can offend us but we are not supposed to call you on it. If you look in the dictionary the definition of an an atheist is someone who doesnt believe in God which is exactly how you describe yourself. a Non-believer in God. Just as reminder her just some of your posts:
i think that if jesus were to come back right now he would be embarrassed to be worshiped, ashamed of christianity and disgusted by (most) christians
Hey everyone out there. Please help me pray to Jesus for my brother in Iraq. He lost his leg from an attack. I pray to Jesus to please grow his leg back.
well lets not forget, we all have the right to change the channel.we could say many nasty things about the movie "passion of the chirst" not to mention its creator... the point is everyone is going...
and regardless, people should have the right to choose what they want to do with their lives. if having sex with someone of your gender is a sin, then don't do it. but if someone else wants to do it, fine. it's not your place to try to control other people with your beliefs. if someone is not causing harm to anyone then leave them be. america is supposed to be the land of the free, and it's not, and that's a shame....

That information is public for all to see so again you don't know what you are talking about. and I called you a non-christian. It was your posts that convince me you don't believe in God.

Divorce is not a sin, so that's a nonissue.
This is true. However, getting a divorce and then getting married again is a sin. And that is legal. That's off-topic though.I have to say I agree with Cautious Warning. Being that true democratic countries are not theocracies, you must have good, secular reasons to create or change laws. So far, no one has brought to my attention any good, secular reason to ban homosexual marriage in the United States. I believe that either the U.S. should give equal rights of marriage to all consenting adult partners, or to none.As for what Christians should "do" with homosexuals is to let them be. Supposedly, it is their sin and not your's. Your sins are the only ones you need to concern yourself with unless others actually cause a form of harm to you with their actions. Homosexuality itself has never caused harm to anyone that I have seen. Nor do I see how it could. So, l believe that Christians and Non-Christians alike should mind their on business when it comes to homosexuality.

Yes charleychacko (nice post) - we were all guilty of homosexuality, as God views His Law and it being broken.James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.KJVSo what are we now:We have been all guilty of homosexuality, of murder, idol worshipping etc. and still God came to save us. :shepard: But now He says to all men everywhere, especially The Brethren:James 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. KJV:cross2: We truly have a testimony in us of the Foolishness of God having saved the likes of us.

It's a sin.The problem for society is when homosexuals recruit and lead others to sin.Recruiting children, teenagers and those down on their luck and with political correctness falsely saying it is okay.Jesus said that offenses would come but woe to those they would come by. It would be better if a millstone was put around their neck and they were drowned in the ocean. It appears to me that this sin of practicing and recruiting homosexuality is a more serious sin then stealing a loaf of bread because one's family is hungry.
I don't buy this for a second. I don't believe that you can recruit someone to become a homosexual, unless they already have homosexual attractions. I am straight and am not in the least attracted to other men. I know homosexuals and they feel the same way towards women. Therefore, no matter how much a homosexual man would try to entice me, it would be unfriutful because there would be no attraction. Now, for someone who is attracted to both sexes or the same sex, that would be different but it would not change their sexual orientation, only how they acted towards it.Also, there is plenty of evidence to suggest that homosexuality is, to a great extent, genetic and hormonal.A brain sexual dimorphism controlled by adult circulating androgens By: Cooke, Bradley M.; Tabibnia, Golnaz; Breedlove, S. well I have seen it... I have a girl friend who was married and hsppy for years until a gay woman came into her life... She was so torn by not being able to have children she gave me the things from her childhood that she had saved for her daughter one day..I am still in touch with her and she seems happy enough, she's not with the same woman... and still has an emptiness she tries to fill with animals.. which is sad to me... I love her... I disagree with her choices for that was exactly what it was...I was there, I saw it happen more than once...I am reminded of another happening which was the result of a drunken evening and the young girl who had felt unloved by her mother targetted by a bisexual.. the poor girl ended up so confused...even suicidal as the affair continued and the one kept going back and forth between her husband and her lover..So you cannot convince me Thomas... I have seen it first hand....at least twice.. it was a bad choice both times...

I've seen much of the same. I had a friend I kept in touch with through the net. We even worked together for a while through a webhosting company. He is a good guy and I think the world of him. He fell in "love" with some guy and started talking about how good certain celebrities look and so forth. He was miserable for a while and broke up with a guy. Later on, he fell for a girl and that was all I heard. To this day he is again straight and dating a girl. The same thing for a girl I went to school with that was a friend of mine and my girlfriend. She ran off from home a few years ago. It had been suspected for a while. She's still off and she has quit high school 2 weeks before she was ready to graduate. Her family can't keep in touch. Up to weeks before this happened, she was boy crazy. Dated guys all her life. Then there's those who claim bisexuality. Is this natural? Everything I've seen firsthand suggests no.

Haven't posted here in a while but since this hits close to home I thought I would give my 2cents worth. There have been many good points made on both sides of this debate but it always seems as though I never really see an even balance, people seem to be to one extreme or the other. My brother has been a homosexual man his entire life, ever since he was old enough to even notice such things. We were both raised in a Christian home with loving parents that tried their hardest to instill the proper values in us and see that we received a Christian upbringing, so none of those strange circumstances that "make" people gay applied here. Many years ago my brother decided that he would come out of that lifestyle and live his life for the Lord, and he has been celibate ever since that time and that was almost 20 years ago. And yes I know, I live next door. I hear many Christians say it can't be proven that anyone is born with a predisposition to having an attraction to the same sex, yet my response would be, neither can it be dis-proven. Now before anyone jumps on me for giving someone license to sin let me qualify what I've said. As human beings we are all born with varying mental and physical abnormalities, human sexuality is certainly not exempt from this. Christians seem many times though to be of the mind set that people can be born with any manner of impairment or disability and that's fine, but sexuality? Well, that's a special thing that God puts there directly Himself, and He wouldn't make somebody that way. That logic would insinuate by it's very nature that any other variation from the norm mental or physical God did deliberately since that one He specifically didn't do. Sexuality is a part of the psyche, just like all other human behavior, and as such is subject to the many problems we face as human beings in the flesh, sometimes there are problems. My point is that no matter whether a person is born attracted to the same sex, the opposite sex, or both, it's not nor can it be any excuse for them to break God's law. Neither does it mean "God made them that way". God didn't make me with severe anxiety, panic disorder, and depression; He also didn't make all those children with down syndrome either, it's just one of those things, it happens, it's life. God's law is very clear, mankind shall not lay with mankind as with womankind, end of subject. A person having a physical attraction to the same sex is not a sin, if it is I haven't found it addressed in God's Word yet, but a person acting on those attractions is committing sin. Hey, life isn't fair, everyone has their own burdens to bear and some will have a heavier one than others. As far as recruiting people or "making" them gay, not gonna happen, under any circumstances. If you know someone who was straight and then went the other way and back again then they were bi-sexual to start with, they just hadn't explored the other side of their sexuality yet, but it was there all along. You are how you are, and nobody can change that, if you think differently then just sit and ponder changing yourself, it will soon become apparent if you try and imagine this for long enough that it would not be possible for you to do so, neither is it possible for anyone else to do so. As I said earlier, nobody can stand before God and use their fleshly dispositions and frailties as an excuse on judgment day by saying "you made me this way", we are all prone and predisposed to sin of all kinds, that isn't an excuse either. What we as Christians need to do is stop telling people that they weren't "born that way", that they made themselves the way they are, that they chose it, and tell them that God loves them for who they are and will give them the strength to overcome their fleshly desires and weaknesses if they will come to Him in repentance and ask for His help. Believe it or not simply telling someone that you know it's not their fault and that they didn't "choose" to be this way can go a long way towards giving them the strength to repent and seek God's help to do what is right. On the other hand, telling them that they chose to be the way they are and that God didn't make them that way(as if God were somehow dishing out sexuality at all) is a sure way to turn them away from God and His saving truth that could change their lives and turn them from their sin. I would sure hate to be responsible for such a thing on the great day.Chris

I think most of us know the bible well enough to know that homosexuality is an abomination according to God. When it comes to addressing a gay or lesbian person, this should be done very carefully. Yelling at them, making hateful remarks, and condemning them to hell is not the Christlike way to handle this; it will only discourage them and lead them further away to Christ. If you look at the example of how Jesus handled the adulterous woman in John 8:1-11 , I think it will be of great help to you. God Bless:angel9:

Leviticus 20Punishments for Sin 9 " 'If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother, and his blood will be on his own head. 10 " 'If a man commits adultery with another man's wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death. 11 " 'If a man sleeps with his father's wife, he has dishonored his father. Both the man and the woman must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. 12 " 'If a man sleeps with his daughter-in-law, both of them must be put to death. What they have done is a perversion; their blood will be on their own heads. 13 " 'If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. 14 " 'If a man marries both a woman and her mother, it is wicked. Both he and they must be burned in the fire, so that no wickedness will be among you. 15 " 'If a man has sexual relations with an animal, he must be put to death, and you must kill the animal. 16 " 'If a woman approaches an animal to have sexual relations with it, kill both the woman and the animal. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. 17 " 'If a man marries his sister, the daughter of either his father or his mother, and they have sexual relations, it is a disgrace. They must be cut off before the eyes of their people. He has dishonored his sister and will be held responsible. 18 " 'If a man lies with a woman during her monthly period and has sexual relations with her, he has exposed the source of her flow, and she has also uncovered it. Both of them must be cut off from their people. 27 " 'A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads.'
I am not clear about what is being said here on this thread. With the expressed words of God, Leviticus lists the people that should be burned and stoned. Could anything be clearer? Are you saying this isn't the law anymore?antonio

Yes, but we still have no right to judge one anothers sin. We need to love them regardless, and try to look past the obvious. Just as Jesus did, when he cast out demons, and healed the sick. He didn't look at the current situation, for he knew it was only temporary. We need to encourage those we see sinning, and try to deterr them from their actions. We as believers can only plant the seed but allow God to rain on the soil...Homosexuality is a disease that can be healed. It only takes the person to admit their wrong actions, and turn from the evil ways now.

But no one answered my question. That's what makes the religion of christianity confusing and unappealing. It's bad enough that you get a hundred or more totally different answers to the same question on the net, but even here, there is no agreement and you can't get a straight answer from anyone. My questions are: Does God still prefer we stone and burn those who comit adultry and same-sex sex and the other listed things, including violating any of the Commandments? If not, did the law change?Did God or Jesus say the law had changed or no longer applied?I can't find the answers and I have looked.

Your question antonio #1(antonio)
Does God still prefer we stone and burn those who comit adultry and same-sex sex and the other listed things, including violating any of the Commandments?
No, God does not burn or stone anyone for committing a sin. Did Jesus stone or burn anyone when he came in the flesh doing His ministry for His Father's Will.(antonio)
If not, did the law change?
The law never changes. Christ fulfilled it...He came not to destroy it.Matthew 5:17-18 - Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. There is no need to animal sacrifice anymore because Christ died for all of our past, present, and future sins.In fact Christianity is not a religion but a reality.Malachi 3:6 - For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.Lovest thou in Christ Jesus (Yahshua) our Lord and Saviour.

Homosexuality is a disease that can be healed.
No, it's sin that need to be confessed and forsaken--same as any other sin.

Actually Nichole is correct. It is a disease (sin) that can be healed (by confessing the sin in the Saviour's name (Yahshua/Jesus) to God the Father) and also forsaken at the same time. So Nichole is correct and Jon-Marc is correct. It was impossible to disagree since you both said the same thing.Lovest thou in Christ Jesus (Yahshua) our Lord and Saviour.
