One of the most common questions we get is about Porn so when I found this little study on it I thought I would post it for those who want to know what scripture says: According to statistics, there are over three million registered married swingers in the U.S. alone. There is a 57.7% divorce rate in America. It is not only in the average family, but in the clergy also. There were over 1,100 sexual abuse cases in 2004 alone within the hierarchy of a certain religious denomination. You know who I'm talking about. Men of God! Their a bunch of sexual predators hiding behind a robe and a false religion. We are living in a society were cheating and having sex with anybody is glorified by Hollywood. Men acting like women and women taking the rolls of men; and their all having sex with each other. Group sex has become as popular as a social gathering. TV shows such as Sex in the city, and Desperate housewives polluting the minds of our youth. Young girls at the age of ten wearing sex bracelets and playing games to see how far they will go. Some of you parents don't even have a clue what is going on, or you just don't care. Keep letting your children run you at a young age, and soon they will be out of control... Then it will be to late! Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. (I Corinthians 6:9-10) I know people don't like to hear this, but this kind of behavior will keep you from entering the Kingdom of God. Don't fool yourself. Those who live immoral lives, who are idol worshipers, adulterers, homosexuals, will have no share in His Kingdom. Neither will thieves or greedy people, drunkards, slanderers, or robbers. I'm not judging anyone, I don't make the rules; this is God's Word... I'm just the messenger. Does God hate these people? Of course not... We are all His children, and He loves us all. He just hates these types of acts, and those who are doing them need to repent and change their ways. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. (I Corinthians 6:11) There was a time when many of us were just like that, but now our sins are washed away, and are set apart for God. He has excepted us because we have repented and changed our ways, and what the Lord Jesus Christ and the Spirit of our God has done for us. He will do it for you also! But isn't prostitution one of the oldest professions? That may be; but it is still sin in God's eyes. Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. (I Corinthians 6:15-18) Our bodies are actually parts and members of Christ. So should we take part of Christ and join Him to a prostitute. When a man joins himself to a prostitute they become one. But if you give yourself to the Lord, you become one Spirit. That is why we should stay away from sexual sin, no other sin effects the body like this one. When we commit this sin we sin against our own body. How? Did you ever hear of aids? Or the countless other sexual diseases out there. Once again I'm not judging prostitutes. I have had some friends that became prostitutes in my lifetime, and many of them are wonderful human beings. They just got caught up in the wrong thing, or were swayed by some pimp telling them how much they love them just to use them to make a quick buck. These type of guys are just predators and will leave you flat and dry. But this is my body, can't I do what I want with it? What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. (I Corinthians 6:19-20) Your body is the home of the Holy Spirit that God gave you, and He lives in you. Your body does not belong to you, but to God. God has bought you with a great price. So use every part of your body to give glory to God, because He owns it. Once again, repent and change your ways; Christ loves you and wants you to be a part of Him and His Kingdom! Porn: A little porn never hurt anyone! Lets start with the definition of pornography. The word pornography can be broken down into two parts: “PORNEA” meaning filthy, and “GRAPHA” meaning to write. Pornography literally means the writing or depicting of filth. One can define filth as anything that is unclean in God's sight, or sin. Webster's Dictionary defines pornography as obscene writing relating to the prostituting of that which is obscene. The Biblical definition and the social definition are one in the same. They both refer to depicting something that is impure or filthy. This can be words, pictures, movies, or any way of depicting these things. So, you find it a little stimulating and arousing to look at man or woman through pornography. Lets see what the bible has to say on this matter. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. (Mark 7:21-23) Christ was explaining in the verse before these that it was not what you eat that harms the soul, but it is the thought-life that pollutes. In these three verses He explains it is the evil and sick thoughts of lust, theft, murder, adultery, wanting what belongs to others, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, pride, and all other folly that pollute us and make us unfit for God. Christ would best explain about porn in the book of Matthew. But, it is also one of the most misunderstood verses in the bible, and puts a guilt trip on many of our youth and adults when it is mistranslated. Lets see what it says. Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. (Matthew 5:27-28) Many bible thumpers will tell you that you cannot look at another woman or you have committed adultery and will burn in hell. That is a bunch of bull! God created woman to be one of the most beautiful of all living beings... And they are. They have all the right curves and features, they are His best work of art. You would be a fool not to look at a woman and notice her beauty. What Christ was saying here, is that you should not lust in your mind or think of having sexual acts with her in your thoughts. You should be able to look at a woman and enjoy her beauty without the need to just have sex with her. The same applies to a woman lusting after a man. If you need to fantasize about someone in this way, make it your own husband or wife. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. (Romans 13:13-14) Christ wants us to put on the armor of right living. Not to spend our time in wild parties and getting drunk or in adultery and lust. These are all things of the lustful flesh, and we should not make plans to enjoy evil. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. (Revelation 22:15) We are talking here of all who have strayed away from God. These are the porn kings, pimps, whores and harlots, idolaters, and those who promote the porn industry. These kind of people do not care about you and only want to bring you down to their level, cashing in on your body. They pray on the young and the weak and tell them all kinds of lies to get them into the porn industry. Don't fall for their deception... They work for and with Satan, and you will only get burned in the end. The Gospel of Timothy makes it very clear and simple on how we should treat all women. The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity. (I Timothy 5:2) We are to treat the older women as your mother and the girls as your sister, thinking only pure thoughts about them. You wouldn't want your own sister slapped around and sold by some pimp, or put out on a porn page engaging in filthy sexual acts, would you? If you would, you are sicker than these predators themselves. Now lets go to the book of Galatians to end our study on these topics. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. (Galatians 5:16-17) The Apostle Paul was trying to explain to us that we should only try to obey the Holy Spirit's instructions. The Holy Spirit will tell us where to go and what to do, then we won't always be doing the wrong things our evil nature wants us to. We naturally love to do evil things that are just the opposite from the things that the Holy Spirit tells us to do. When the good things of the Holy Spirit has his way with us, they are the opposite of our natural desires. Paul tells us the same problem that he had... These two forces within us are constantly fighting each other to win control over us, and our wishes are never free from their pressures. I like to call it the battle within! Now does this mean that we are never suppose to mess up? No... We are all sinners and we all fall short at times. That is why we need to repent on a regular basis, and try our best to change our ways. If you have a problem with any of the things we talked about in this study, ask the Heavenly Father for help. You are His child and if you just ask Him, He will always show you a way out.

Yea, pornography is just completely sick, I regret watching it in my teenage life, but I never watch it again...as my God already forgives me.God created sex as a beautiful thing for a man and a woman...but this world torture this beautiful thing and turn into it very ugly.It's true that many parents either do no want to know or don't care and just levil run the youth.I realize that I must continue training myself to the Lord as I wanted nothing of this world. God loves us, and we should love Him.These evil things...it like you can't control yourself...It's like the ruler of you is flesh, not God.Love much...from JagLovest ye in Christ Yahshua our Lord and Saviour.

I think porn is a snare for guys. Women are supposed to appeal to men. But porn takes this God given drive, and corrupts it. And because it warps something fundamentally good in the male nature; it is particularly hard to break.I've heard guys having success with an accountability partner who oversees their internet acess. And I think the guys caught up in this need our prayers.Typos, typos

I take this very very seriously. Porn has been a sorce of deterioration in my marriage for many many years. I have watched my spouse fall away from were he was fom God , And has tried time and time again to break free from its strong holds over and over again. He Does alright for a while but then falls into it again. I t has caused me so much anguish. Literally , grief. It feels as if your spouse is having affairs over and over again. He doesnt understand what it does to me. Somtimes he gets angry and tells me I like to play victim. Understand it has taken me a long time to get to where I am now . However, God has lifted me up .He has given me compassion for this man. I understand that he feels shameful and worth less. He hurts from the inside out. Feels noone can relate with out judging him and that is very true unless someone who has been there can relate . This (sin ) corrupts more than the body it corrupts the mind and the soul as well. My husband has reached out for help ,he has yet to find what he needs. I have learned to freverently pray for him .God is good . HIS WILL will be done. To anyone who reads this if you know someone or you yourself are going through this do not make the mistakethat I made. Do not be condemning . Be compassionate. Have the compassion of CHRIST. hELP THEM GET OUT OF IT. tHIS IS sATANS BIGGEST STRoNG HOLD RIGHT NOW . iTS NOT LIKE DRUGS THAT YOU HAVE TO BUY ON THE STREET CORNER. YOU JUST HAVE TO TURN ON YOUR TV OR COMPUTER. It is a spiritual battle . And like the study said you need the full armor of God to over come . with love.haanne

Haanne, my heart goes out to you. Has he tried an accountability partner? I'm not sure on the logistics of setting it up. But it involves having someone else get a listing of all the websites he visits. Then that person (usually another guy) helps monitor his actions.

Is there a way to use Covenant Eyes without having to pay? I am a poor college student, and though our filters are good they aren't perfect (Im at a real Christian College).

Dear Kriss,This is an excellent thread. I like the definition of pornography. I have been thinking about this word for a long time now. I tend to use the word to describe all forms of exploitation or abuse of people not just in the sex sense. Not everyone understands when I use the term "emotional pornography" for example.One thing that has got me thinking over the years is how do we seek balance in life. Sex is a big temptation for people - so how do we reduce that temptation?In my youth (I left home at 16) I did whatever I wanted (not being Christian at the time) I was exposed to pornography, drank with prostitutes, had lots of sex, and all the rest of it. One thing I can guarantee is that of all the people on this board I am the least likely to fornicate, commit adultery, swing, exploit or look at women with lust than most of you. I do not need censoring by computer software. I just have no interest in that false reality.So, what is my point?I think sexual exploitation and dubious sexual morality needs to be faced rather than hidden from sight. It needs to be confronted from a position of knowledge rather than denial.By seeing and experiencing this evil firsthand one then sees the real damage that this causes to peoples souls. I have spent hours talking to prostitutes but have never paid for sex. I did not judge, because it was their only option. We need to be open about sex otherwise it will become the secret taboo. Pornography, titillation, It's hidden mystery actually creates the demand that fuels it's growth.That brings me to "balance" Does one hide from sex and pretend it does not exist or give in to its allure and experience it at it's most depraved?Either way results in damage to people.What is the best way? How do we instigate damage limitation?Never hide from problems, because they only get bigger.Never judge until you know the facts, otherwise, you will create injustice.An open wound will heal in the light but fester in the dark.:naughty:

There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses. So you longed for the lewdness of your youth, when in Egypt your bosom was caressed and your young breasts fondled.
The whole world has gone after strange flesh, it is consumed with what people feel rather than what is right. Men who want men or boys to satisfy their wanton lust have found the day of acceptance in Islam. The child of Gomorrah has a legitimate grievance because the present slouching towards Gomorrah has about reached it crest again and those who welcome it love evil.
