We were asked in Sunday class if we thought we were to love Satan since Christ told us to love our enemy? This is a hard one for me!

No! because Satan is the only one already judged by God there for sense God has passed the Judgement not man we are not to love him we are to follow Gods lead and hate him. God judged him because only God could see his heart was evil. And we are to hate evil.

I agree with the feelings expressed and this is why this question bothered me. Jesus tells us to love our enemies and Satan is Jesus and our worst enemy?

Your enemies is different than God's enemies. As your enemies can repent to Him and have Him as their Lord and Saviour and God's enemies can't.Jag

As stated, Satan has already been indicted, tried, and found guilty. (Ezekiel 28 and Isaiah 14)We are not to feel sorry for him, nor are we to love him. God has already ordained that he'll turn to ashes from within. There is nothing there for us to love. In fact, I'd go a step further to say those that love him are in very serious trouble.

Of course not! The enemy we are to love are other people who are not believers. Those who are not believers are the enemies of God and therefore us also. We were the enemies of God at one time before we called on Him for forgiveness. To love Satan is to love evil. He cannot be redeemed, but there is hope for all mortals who are yet alive.

To love Satan is to embrace his teachings, if we do not love the Lord's teachingsthen we are lovers of Satan.

A agree with "Denver"....he is the "son of perdition" and has been condemned. It doesn't seem wise to love someone that wants to keep souls from God.......Whirlwind

Hi everyone. I pray you won't mind my intrusion, but felt lead to share some things here. I'll take the list, as I wrote responces I'll share about.1- Satan is already judged by God-No, he has not been. Jude shows where Lucifer and his follower fallen Angels have only "lost thier first estate", of which they chose to leave themselves, (next verse). Where God declares here also that they are bound in chains of darkness does not mean they are bound in Hell. But translations show- "chains", means "iniquity"- (sin). So, while they were removed from God's Domain- 3rd Heaven- II Cor. 12:2, they still roam freely within the 1st and 2nd Heavens- Gen. 1:8 and I Cor. 15:40. As k yourselves this if question the above- If Satan and his demons- (other fallen Angls) are locked in Hell, how could Satan have been the "Serpent" who decieved Eve in Garden of Eden? (Serpent- Hebrew word for this means Devil incarnated)? Or Satan able to dispute with Micheal the Arc Angel over Moses' dead body?, or Satan and his demons fighting God's Host when Gabriel came with God's interpretations to Daniel? Or satan being able to tempt Christ in person after Jesus' 40 days in wilderness? Or Satan's ability to incarnate Judas- ("Diabolis" Jesus declares is one of the 12 Disciples- translated means- "Devil in human flesh").So no, Satan nor his fallen followers have been judged as yet.2- Hate satan because God does. You'll have to show Scriptures that back this up. So far, all I've ever found is God hating Satan's "iniquity"- (sin). I suggest this is false, for God hates the sin of "pride" worst of all, as that is what convinced Lucifer, God's greatest Cherub Angel of times past, to turn against God. Thus, just as Christ and God tell us to love others as God loves us and as Christ loves us, we should love Satan as well, just not his sin- "Fruit", as God teaches us to judge "Fruit" and not to judge people.3- Our enemies are different than God's enemies-Oh, how so? I recall God telling us, the battle we fight is "not" of the flesh, but of the spirit- against powers and principalities of darkness- (Satan and his demons).4- Satan is indicted, tried and found guilty by God-False. Satan has not been judged at all by God yet, but it will happen soon- Ezek. 28:13-19-(19 particularly) and Isa. 14:12-15- (15 in particular), Rev. 20:3,7-10.5- Enemies we are to love are the unsaved-False. As mentioned before, our battle is not of the flesh but of the spirit. God and Christ declare we are to love all people, for what does it prophet us to love those who already love us, but love those who hate us, that thier hearts might be changed. It is the influence we are judge, not the person- "You can tell the root of a tree by the fruit it bears". 6- "To love Satan is to embrace his teachings-False. God, thru Apostle Paul, declares God has made him all things to all people. Thus, while God could reach anyone thru Paul to help them or for Salvation, Paul did not get involved in the unsaved practices of people when relating to them. And Paul also declared by the Holy Spirit, that even tho God had Gifted him with so much ability, made him an Apostle, Preacher and Teacher of Gentiles and more, without "Love", all those things were worth no more than a tinkling cymbol. As such, we can love Satan and pray for him and his fallen followers. This by no means proves we are partaking of or condoning his evil works.7- Satan is the "son of perdition"-Partly true, but partly false. Why? That same verse this "son of perdition" comes from, calls this person- "man of sin". This coincides with Rev. 13:1-7, take note of v 3, where one of this "beasts' heads is wounded as if dead. This "son of perdition" is the anti-christ who will rule the one world Government- Dan. 2:41-44, Dan. 7:19-25- (note 23-24), Rev. 13:1-7, take note of v 3- a head was wounded as killed, but then brought back to life. This shows, the anti-christ- (a flesh person), as described will first demonstrate Satan's power in the sight of Satan. But the anti-christ will be killed later, at which time Satan will incarnate him and thus revive the dead man miraculously.I pray this helps-God Bless!!

I disagree with 90% of your post Satan has been judged to death Christ conquered death another name for Satan on the cross. You are misreading Isa 14 and Rev. 20 is his when he gets his punishment he has already been judged and conqured same as any trial you are found guilty and then you are given your sentence. The bible doesnt say Satan(lucifer the devil is in hell it says he is being held by Michael in heaven where he accuses the saints night and Day. And he will be kicked to earth with his fallen angels that are held in the abyss witch isn't hell but a state of being maybe compared to something like a coma or sleepThe son of pertion is most certainly Satan AS ANTICHRIST IS SATAN himself havent you read Woe to earth as the Devil has come down to you Rev 12:12 Therefore rejoice, [ye] heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. and Luk 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. WE MOST CERTAILY ARE NOT TO LOVE SATAN and if you think so you are in deep trouble

The Absolutely Good, Infinitely Forgiving God has NO enemies. To even speak of the Transcendent Creator of All that was, is, and will be as if he's a person like you and me, who has beefs with people, is sacrilege. The Almighty has NO enemies. God loves ALL his creations for God's love is INFINITE. There is no hate in God, only love. God is both Absolute LOVE and Absolute GOOD. Theres no room for hate. So God loves even Satan.

Oh really? It sounds like you want to justify what's going to happen anyway to Lucifer.Care to explain this?Malachi 1:1-3 - The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi. I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob, And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.Yes, God does care about a person repenting their sins. Satan hates us and everybody in this world. God brings eternal Life. And Satan gives us Death, the second death.Lovest ye in Christ Yahshua, Saviour of the world.

James 4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Romans 9:13
As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
Said by Jesus himself:Matthew 13:39
The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
I could quote a few more off the top of my head, but the point is made. Let's not make God a weak construction of our imagination. Away with the traditions of men that make void the Word of God!There is no room for love for this:Ezekiel 28:9-10
Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hand of him that slayeth thee. Thou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
Then we're presented with yet another title, but the following verse tells us who it is:Ezekiel 28:13
Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
I'd say that narrows it down pretty well, and two of the choices are long dead. God says, just in case it was missed:Ezekiel 28:16
By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
Ezekiel 28:18
Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffic; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
Ezekiel 18:19
All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.
Shalt and will. Not maybe. Not possibly. Not you are in danger of being. The words are shalt and will which means you can take it to the bank.Again, let's do away with the traditions or the things we don't like to hear. God has indeed condemned Satan, that's why he is called perdition and that's why he's already going into peridition. The beast is merely a part of the whole, hence the reason the beast is cast into the fire separate from Satan himself. If you love that to which God has already rejected, you're frankly going against the will of Almighty God, because he alone as Judge has passed judgment. That is NOT a place you want to be my friends, not at all.

You guys seem to like talking about God hating people. How can you then turn around and claim you believe that God is All Good and All Loving. Not partially loving. Not sometimes loving. But ALL LOVING. No room for hate. As for christians loving Satan, of course Christians should love Satan if they follow the message of the Bible. To begin,Heres some wise words from Solomon.Proverbs 10:12Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all sins. Now on to the questions of whether God hates Satan and whether Christians should hate Satan, theres this...1 John 4:7-8 & 20-21 7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.20If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.GOD IS LOVE and LOVE IS OF GOD. Hating Satan would be fighting fire with fire and that just causes more destruction. We don't fight fire with fire, we fight fire with water and we fight evil with good. So you cannot hate anyone without hating God, from whom ALL things came from. You cannot hate a plate of food without also implying a hatred of the chef who made it.Luke 6:32-3732For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. 33And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. 34And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. 35But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. 36Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. 37Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven. You can't get more basic when it comes to Jesus' teachings than to love your enemies.
