Princeton, NJ (PRWEB) July 24, 2006 -- The dreaded 9th of Av has been a source of heartache and suffering for Israel for literally thousands of years. The dramatic escalation of violence in the Middle East in recent days, along with Bible prophecy, suggests this year is of particular concern.Of the eight disastrous events to befall Israel over the last 2,600 years, two of them involved the destruction of Jerusalem. On the 9th of Av 587 BC, after a two year siege, the Babylonian army broke through the walls of Jerusalem and burned Solomon’s temple to the ground. On the 9th of Av in 70 AD the Jews’ second temple was destroyed as Roman soldiers sacked the city. These soldiers, against the clear orders of their commander, Titus, burned the temple to the ground and—looking for gold that had melted—overturned the temple stones leaving “not one stone upon another.” In his 1997 book entitled Bible Codes, Michael Drosnan claimed that nuclear war—with Jerusalem as the target—was referenced numerous times in the Bible Codes for the years 2000 and 2006. He also noted a rather odd encoded message suggesting that “a friend delayed” this terrible destruction. Obviously 2000 was not the year, but the ominous direction of current events may make 2006 a different story. Drosnan found other references in the Bible Codes that referred to Jerusalem being destroyed yet a third time on the 9th of Av! His find was not simply “9th of Av,” but more precisely: “9th Av is the day of the third.”Combining the plain text of Bible prophecy with Drosnan’s information from the Bible Codes, we can piece together more of the puzzle. There is a prophecy in Isaiah 22 that speaks of an attack on Jerusalem that is so fast and so overwhelming that Israel doesn’t even have time to engage in the battle! The prophecy even speaks of slain who are not slain in battle, as though it is over before it even begins. Could this be a nuclear attack? What’s more interesting is that the attacker in this prophecy is not Babylon or Assyria, or even Egypt, but rather Elam. Elam was the old Persian Empire, and is inhabited today by the modern nation of Iran. Another end-time prophecy, this one in Zechariah 2, refers to God exacting rather severe vengeance on “the daughter of Babylon” and the “North countries” for a merciless and devastating attack on “the apple of His eye,” which typically refers to Jerusalem. The old Persian Empire was a province of Babylon for several hundred years until Assyria overthrew it in roughly 645 BC, so this prophecy could also be referring to present day Iran . . . the modern day “Elamites.” The prophecy in Isaiah definitely states that Elam provides the weapons for this attack, but isn’t clear on who actually launches it. The Bible Codes suggest, however, that it is Hamas that delivers this devastating blow to Jerusalem, not Hezbollah or Iran, and includes the words “from Haniel”. Isaiah 22 suggests that this attack is completely unexpected and therefore undefended against. If this attack is the one in Zechariah 1 that speaks of a scattering of Israel such that “no man did lift up his head,” then it is unquestionably an ominous and deadly attack. Indeed, it is the attack that precipitates the final seven years of end-time prophecy with all the violence and confusion that go with them. Now less than two weeks away, Israel should definitely be wary of the 9th of Av (August 3rd ) this year. More importantly, she should not forget to look to the real source of her defense, as Isaiah 22:11 warns! Vacationers, businessmen, and CNN News Correspondents should take note of this date . . . just in case.------------------------------------------------------------------------found this articule after I read our posts so thought I would post it.here's our post linkhttp://www.christianityboard.com/showthread.php?t=464

Hello, Anyone who looks for Bible truth by searching codes or numbers are on the wrong path and will never come to Truth of God's word. The Bible is not in codes or cipher text so that it needs to be decoded to be understood. Remember what Jesus said about God's word?? Jesus said that God had carefully hid things from the wise and intellectual ones and revealed tham to babes, Luke 10:21. Can anyone imagine babes understanding the deciphering or decoding of God's word. Paul also said that he did not come with extravagant speech, 1Cor 2:1. Extravagant speech is complicated and hard to understand, not something for babes!!! The Samaritan woman at the well, when speakig to Jesus said; I know when Messiah comes he will explain all things to us openly, John 4:25. 1Corinthians and 3rd Cor tells us exactly what God thinks of the wise and intellectual ones, and the right way to gain knowledge of God, 1Cor 1:18-21, 2:4-6, 12,13, 3:18-20. Truely, only The Almighty, Omniscient God, Jehovah, can give us a message that the wise and intellectual cannot understand, but babes can understand.

Jesus is talking about the "wisdom" of this world which sometimes manifests itself as smug intellectualism but do not have the faith and openness as a child. Jesus did not mean a babe as in a mental defective. Proof of that is God used the apostle Paul to write most of the NT epistles. Paul was the Albert Einstein of the theological world, the best of the best professors if he were to teach in a university. The fact remains that the bible may contain code, definitely contains gemetria (no serious bible scholar denies that), and is unquestionably filled galore with symbolic numbers all over the place. One can tell the theological intent of the passage by the dimension or number that God uses over and over again, so like it or lump it, a very THICK portion of the bible is devoted to numbers as it is given to genealogies as well.
