The reason why I am here is because lately I have been struggling with my faith as a Christian.My faith has always been a very important part of me, but now I am plagued by doubts about religion.I have always been someone who seeks answers and more and more I have begun to realise that religion is not satisfying my need for a rational explanation.I know that the Bible says 'Trust in the Lord, and lean not to your own understanding' but I just can't do that.I CANNOT under any circumstances lean on the understanding of a supernatural being that teaches that homosexuality is morally wrong, sex outside of marriage is a sin and condemns prostitution.I am socially liberal, but it has been brought to my attention that my religion conflicts with this.As I am being forced to realise by those around me, there is no proof for the existence of any god, least of all a Christian god.The bible tells us that the Earth is at the centre of the universe, and that it was created in seven days just 10,000 years ago.So my problem is divided thus; scientific and moral. Anyone who believes homosexuality is a sin is wrong, and any religion that teaches so is also wrong. Anyone who disputes that man evolved from ape is wrong, and any religion that teaches so is also wrong.I still pray as a Christian, for fear that there may be a god. But the god of the bible is a genocidal maniac who killed millions of people and commanded moses to pillage a neighbouring civilisation, killing all the men and raping all the women.I can only go on holding contradictory beliefs for so long, and athiesm looks like it has the headstart already.

hi Esquire I have had doubts as a christian too. Its okay. Just pray about it . Ask God to layout a fleece for you. Have you ever prayed and had your prayer answered? What have you got to lose? I have been in a work place where I have met and come to be friends with people who were gay. Dont forget that Jesus was the most compassionate man on the planet. He said in Luke 10:26-32 .when asked by a lawywer ,How do I inherit the kingdom of God? Jesus replied L ove the Lord your God with all your heart,soul mind, and strength and love your neighbor as yourself. God doesnt hate any of his children John 3:16 for God so loved the world that he gave his only SON, so that whosoever believeth in him shal not perish but have everlasting life. Its kind oflike God created us so he gets to make the rules. He created us to need him to feel a void without him. He feels a void with out us . I read a scripture in psalms ,I cant find it right now but it said that God records every tear we shed(psalm 56:8) (found it ) So God knows every time you cry. I know that somtimes it feels like he is far away but the truth is he never leaves you. Ask him to restore your faith. Also I have yet to meet someone who is fulfilled in sex out side of marriage .Most women who have sex with out love feel empty. also people who have sex and arent married are more subject to depression when it ends not to mention STDs tct same goes for Prostitutes. I havent ever heard of a prostitute who lovestheir line of work. Jesus never condemned a prostitute . instead he condemned the people who were condemening her. God dosent want us to do things that will hurt us.He knows what will work for our children and what wont. How many kids lives have been uprooted and destroyed because of adultrey? dont be decived by the devils lies .God is Good .He is loving . He loves you!! Thedevil condemns and destroys.
