There is teaching being put forward, as there has always been, which is a great misunderstanding. It concerns women being relegated to keeping silent, learning from husbands, etc. The misunderstanding comes from not seeing who The Woman is. Rather than dredging up the same verses showing that type of thinking and teaching to be in error this one is to explain just who The Woman is.

1 Timothy 2:14-15 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

The man Adam of the Genesis story was most definitely in "the transgression" so we must look deeper into the above. Adam, as well as being the name of the first man in the line to Christ (not the first man on earth), means mankind...and that is the meaning here. Eve, as well as being the wife of Adam is the church, the body of Christ for the name means "living." We are spiritually alive if we believe, we are living, we are Eve, we are the woman whether male or female.

Notice too, as a second witness to the woman meaning many, is "the woman" in the above passage is expanded to "if they continue." They is plural, this is not about one lone woman being deceived or bearing a child. The woman speaks of the body of Christ...male and female.

Adam/Mankind was not deceived or in the transgression for mankind was not given the commandment (whereas the man Adam was given the commandment) and sin without knowledge is not counted as sin. However, Eve/the church/woman knew for God spoke to them as He speaks to us through the written Word. We know, for we have been instructed.

What of the being "saved in childbearing?" Do women unable to have children have no chance at salvation? LOL...NO! So again, we must look deeper for the meaning.

"She, the woman" is Eve, the church, the body of Christ and she is many! From the church comes the "man child," (no gender) and it is they (for this too speaks of many) that are caught up to Him while walking the earth for the catching up is spiritual. It is to be a new man. The man child speaks of those in whom Christ dwells, His very elect, His apostles and prophets. The Holy Spirit teaches them and they teach/feed the woman, the church.

Revelation 12:2-5 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to His throne.

The dragon/serpent/Satan/Devil are but names of one entity:

Revelation 12:5-6 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to His throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

The "old serpent" is the same serpent that deceived Adam and Eve in the garden...the same serpent of old that deceives Eve/the woman/the church today. If we are in the transgression it is because she/we allow ourselves to be deceived by him today.

It is the tail of the great red dragon that keeps us from hearing "the commandments of the LORD thy God" and keeps us from observing and doing them....unless we are "the head."

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

20:2 And He laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

Christ is the head and He in us places us "above only" so we are not deceived by the tail. [1 Corinthians 11:3]

The tail are of Satan, the false prophets, the wolves in sheep's clothing...the deceivers. And many of the woman believe the tail for they are among us.

Deuteronomy 28:13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

Isaiah 9:15 The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.

Revelation 9:19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.

The tail of the serpent, the false prophets are serpents...they follow their master and their power is in their mouth which is what they teach...lies.
