Salvation that is a gift and not an achievement, Ephesians 2:8-9, this truth confronts one of humanity’s greatest vices, the need to earn. You live in a world conditioned to reward performance, but the Kingdom of God operates on another principle, that of unearned grace. Grace is the divine favor that reaches you despite your failures and not because of your virtues, it breaks human pride and leaves no room for self-glory. Salvation is not the result of effort, religious discipline or good intentions, it is a gift offered by God which can only be received with humility and faith. When you understand this, you are freed from the spiritual anxiety of doing to be and begin to live from you already are.

This understanding also protects you from two dangerous extremes, legalism and permissiveness, grace is not a license to sin, nor a burden to carry, it is empowerment to live a holy life with joy and gratitude. Those who understand what salvation cost, the blood of the lamb, do not live as those who want to take advantage of it, but as those who have been profoundly transformed by it. Grace does not leave you the same way it found you, a broken scale representing the end of spiritual meritocracy, then the image of a gift being received with empty hands could emerge, symbolizing that you bring nothing and everything is given to you. This clearly communicates the essence of the gospel, free salvation, but which profoundly transforms those who receive it.

If you have been saved by grace, the inevitable question arises, what does God expect from you, now that he has reached you? The answer leads you to understand that although you are not saved by works, you were created for them and that is where faith begins to act in the real world. Ephesians 2:10, this reveals a truth that is often overlooked, good works are not the cause of salvation, but its natural consequence. Faith that does not produce practical fruits needs to be re-evaluated, good works do not only mean social actions or visible gestures, they also include daily attitudes of integrity, words of life, generosity, forgiveness and service, every act performed with love and in obedience to the Holy Spirit becomes part of this eternal plan that God has already designed.

Living these works is actively participating in the divine project that transforms the world around you, one step at a time, each small gesture, this understanding prevents faith from becoming something theoretical or disconnected from reality. The believers life is concretized in practice, when you help someone in need, forgive an offender, care for your family with zeal or work with excellence, you are responding to God’s call. Good works do not make you more saved, but reveal the salvation that already dwells in you.

Yeah but the greasy grace people will come along and claim being obedient is trying to earn one's salvation

They'll say that's works based salvation.
That’s why self-examination is terrifying, it removes your excuses, it uncovers what you’ve justified, it brings into the light what you hoped no one would see. But it’s also how God heals, because he can’t transform what you pretend isn’t broken, he doesn’t shame what he exposes, he sanctifies it, but only if you let him near enough to reveal it.

Man you'd better get a better reply read for when the greasy grace people show up.

What is your exhortation for those who will argue that being obedient is trying to earn one's salvation?

Do you have one yet?

Perhaps the most revolutionary change in my mind was realizing the truth of the fact that I live unto God, that He is here with me, joined to me, regardless of what I'm doing, saying, thinking. There is nothing hidden. I may deceive myself by I will NEVER deceive God.

Living fully open before Him, yes, this is very healing, because we are trusting Him with our most vulnerable inner self, like you've said above. Very well said!

Much love!

The flesh fights fiercely, because it fears losing control, when someone begins to follow God seriously, the flesh senses that its authority is being challenged. Habits that once ruled without resistance, suddenly face opposition, patterns of thought that once seemed natural, now feel wrong, this creates tension inside the believer. The flesh argues for comfort, the Holy Spirit calls for growth. The flesh says, protect yourself, the Holy Spirit says, trust God. The flesh says, take revenge, the Holy Spirit says, forgive. The flesh says, seek recognition, the Holy Spirit says, serve quietly. These competing impulses create a daily choice, dying daily means choosing the Holy Spirit over the flesh again and again.

The enemy knows they cannot destroy you easily, so they try to terrify you, they want you to agree with hopelessness, to bow to anxiety, to accept the lie that you are fragile, unprotected, alone, but faith overthrows fear. Faith is not the absence of fear, it is the authority to stand in fears face and say, I believe God anyway.

Nothing is worth the price of a compromised soul, you are not weak for being tempted, but you are in danger if you refuse to act, because the thing you let linger today, could become the addiction you can’t break tomorrow.

Alrighty then so you do not have a good reply for the greasy grace people who will claim obedience is works based salvation.

You should develop a list of scriptures the shows we are called unto obedience

Of course they are cherry pickers who ignore scriptures that don't agree with their eisegesis but you should have a list of scriptures to be able to post just the same.

You don’t set up a strategy session with a grenade in your lap, you throw it, that’s how serious you have to be, because the moment you allow temptation to grow, the moment you feed it, it will rewrite your future and it won’t ask for permission.

Ephesians 6:23, after exposing God’s eternal plan, revealing your new identity, demonstrating the work of the cross, the mission of the church and the spiritual reality, Paul leads you to a silent challenge, to live all this in a complete way. Ephesians is not a theological treatise, it is a call to a life aligned with heaven, this question echoes, are you living all that God planned or are you surviving, carrying a fragmented faith, limited to the margins of your routine, God’s plan for you is not timid.

You need a list of scriptures that demonstrates Christians are called to obedience and it's not earning our salvation

Do you have such a list???? Are you prepared???

Learning God's love is what removes our fear.

1 John 4:17-18 KJV
17) Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Much love!

Ephesians 6:12, this alert dispels any illusion of spiritual neutrality, every day you are caught up in an invisible conflict, where your faith, holiness and purpose are constant targets. To ignore this reality, is to allow the enemy to advance without resistance.

Attitudes being transformed, someone once hot-tempered, now patient, once selfish, now generous, the new man is not an unattainable ideal, but the active promise of those who walk with Christ. This new posture leads you to a lifestyle that reflects the very character of God, when you put on the new man, you are called to live with love, light and wisdom as true children of God, reflecting the father in all that you do. Ephesians 5:1-2, this reveals to you that Christian maturity is not measured by gifts, but by the way you relate to others, love, light and wisdom are not optional virtues, they are unmistakable marks of those who walk with Christ.

True faith does not perfect the old self, it crucifies it and gives way to a new creation, this putting on is a conscious daily act. Just as you choose the clothes you will wear, you also choose to clothe yourself with the new spiritual nature, this decision involves renouncing habits, thought patterns and desires that no longer align with the new being you are called to be.

The new man, it is not about pretending or conforming externally, but about aligning your conduct with the nature you have received by grace.

The new man is shaped by truth, not by culture, the new man acts with justice, speaks with purity, responds with gentleness and lives with purpose. This new posture is only possible, when the Holy Spirit already dwelling in you, guides and lovingly confronts you, putting on the new man is a continuous process of surrender, it is not automatic, but it is inevitable for anyone who wishes to live in the fullness of the Christian faith.
