Religious Dogmatism
How dangerous do you think religious dogmatism is? If we are honest, we all can agree rd (religious dogmatism), has really divided us as a Christian community in so many ways. What I have been seeing way too much of is the kind of intolerance and TOTAL prejudice toward whole groups of brothers and sisters in Christ, as well as the unsaved (who we as the church, have no business judging). It has only escalated the conflicts we are experiencing here, well at least to myself it has.
An "us vs them" situation seems to have crept in. And why do some revel over hating or hurting certain groups outside of Christianity-and yes, how dare we judge those without? There is such a mocking tone which to me, comes off as arrogant, mean and violent even. My spirit feels violated by my own brothers and sisters! If I were just coming onto this site, I would be so put off from the hatred and vitriol that, I'd turn tail and run in the opposite direction, fast...and maybe never look back
And the staunch adherence to doctrines regardless of evidence; which seems that nobody wishes to honestly LOOK AT and consider! We are so knee-jerk. Stiff-necked comes to mind.
Let's justify our POV without personal attacks, and snarky arrogant come-backs, all sides included. Oh how I hope and pray for the comradery we once shared here, to return!
