The flesh fights fiercely, because it fears losing control, when someone begins to follow God seriously, the flesh senses that its authority is being challenged. Habits that once ruled without resistance, suddenly face opposition, patterns of thought that once seemed natural, now feel wrong, this creates tension inside the believer. The flesh argues for comfort, the Holy Spirit calls for growth. The flesh says, protect yourself, the Holy Spirit says, trust God. The flesh says, take revenge, the Holy Spirit says, forgive. The flesh says, seek recognition, the Holy Spirit says, serve quietly. These competing impulses create a daily choice, dying daily means choosing the Holy Spirit over the flesh again and again.
Romans 7:5 KJV
For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

Living trying to keep the Law provokes the flesh to sin.

Much love!

Nothing is worth the price of a compromised soul, you are not weak for being tempted, but you are in danger if you refuse to act, because the thing you let linger today, could become the addiction you can’t break tomorrow.
There is no addiction God cannot break. Just the same, when we sow to the flesh we reap corruption from the flesh, which makes these addictions stronger.

Much love!

The transformation that Paul describes does not happen overnight, it is a daily journey of choices, of dying to the old and living in the new, every decision you make today is an opportunity to put on who you really are in Christ

Supernatural, invisible, constant strengthening is necessary, it is not something the world applauds as it is not visible to human eyes, but it is precisely this that keeps someone standing when everything seems dark. The strengthened inner man does not depend on circumstances, the inner man is nourished by the continuous presence of God. A heart being restored, the idea is to convey that although this process is invisible, it is the foundation of everything that is visible in your journey with God. Without roots, there is no fruit and it is the Holy Spirit who strengthens this hidden structure and it is precisely by being strengthened on the inside, that you can live in a new way on the outside.

Ephesians 3:16, this supplication reveals where the greatest spiritual battles truly occur within you, the Holy Spirit works in the invisible, in the deepest regions of the soul, where silent decisions shape entire destinies. This inner strength is not synonymous with emotional strength, much less self-confidence, it is spiritual power coming directly from the glory of God, capable of sustaining the believer when everything around is crumbling.

This mystery also reminds us that God acts outside of human expectations, the Gentiles, previously seen as outsiders to the promise, are now part of its center. God surprises by including the unlikely, calling the forgotten and using those who were not considered. This fills you with hope, for if God revealed such truth to Paul, he can also reveal great things to your hearts today, if you are willing to listen and obey. It is the beauty of a God who shares his secrets with his children and involves them in his eternal plans and as this calling involves not only revelation, but inner empowerment, strengthened in the inner man where every great work of God begins.

Salvation that is a gift and not an achievement, Ephesians 2:8-9, this truth confronts one of humanity’s greatest vices, the need to earn. You live in a world conditioned to reward performance, but the Kingdom of God operates on another principle, that of unearned grace. Grace is the divine favor that reaches you despite your failures and not because of your virtues, it breaks human pride and leaves no room for self-glory. Salvation is not the result of effort, religious discipline or good intentions, it is a gift offered by God which can only be received with humility and faith. When you understand this, you are freed from the spiritual anxiety of doing to be and begin to live from you already are.

This understanding also protects you from two dangerous extremes, legalism and permissiveness, grace is not a license to sin, nor a burden to carry, it is empowerment to live a holy life with joy and gratitude. Those who understand what salvation cost, the blood of the lamb, do not live as those who want to take advantage of it, but as those who have been profoundly transformed by it. Grace does not leave you the same way it found you, a broken scale representing the end of spiritual meritocracy, then the image of a gift being received with empty hands could emerge, symbolizing that you bring nothing and everything is given to you. This clearly communicates the essence of the gospel, free salvation, but which profoundly transforms those who receive it.

If you have been saved by grace, the inevitable question arises, what does God expect from you, now that he has reached you? The answer leads you to understand that although you are not saved by works, you were created for them and that is where faith begins to act in the real world. Ephesians 2:10, this reveals a truth that is often overlooked, good works are not the cause of salvation, but its natural consequence. Faith that does not produce practical fruits needs to be re-evaluated, good works do not only mean social actions or visible gestures, they also include daily attitudes of integrity, words of life, generosity, forgiveness and service, every act performed with love and in obedience to the Holy Spirit becomes part of this eternal plan that God has already designed.

Living these works is actively participating in the divine project that transforms the world around you, one step at a time, each small gesture, this understanding prevents faith from becoming something theoretical or disconnected from reality. The believers life is concretized in practice, when you help someone in need, forgive an offender, care for your family with zeal or work with excellence, you are responding to God’s call. Good works do not make you more saved, but reveal the salvation that already dwells in you.
The content of a gift can be the experience of doing something, such as giving someone the opportunity to experience driving a Ferrari, where the gift intrinsically requires them to do the work of driving it in order to experience driving it, but where doing that work contributes nothing towards earning the opportunity to experience driving it. We can't earn our salvation even as the result of having perfect obedience to the Law of God because it was never given as a way of earning our salvation in the first place, but rather it was given in order to teach us what it intrinsically required in order to experience the gift of salvation. In Titus 2:11-13, the content of our gift of salvation is described as being trained by grace to do what is godly, righteous, and good, and to renounce doing what is ungodly, so we are not extrinsically required to have first done those works in order to earn our salvation as the result and we are not extrinsically required to do those works as the result of having first been saved, but rather we are intrinsically required to be a doer of those works because God graciously teaching us to experience being a doer of them is part of the content of His gift of salvation.

The thirst for transcendence that human beings carry is real, the problem is not in the thirst, but in the source chosen to quench it, the word “be filled” means that it is not a one-time experience achieved once and maintained forever, it is a state that needs to be renewed continuously, a condition of life that demands constant attention.

Salvation cost us nothing, but without salvation it costs us everything.

If salvation did not cost one turning away from this world and leaving their old life (REPENTANCE) then they are not actually saved and are doing nothing more than giving lip service to the Lord as their heart is still far from Him.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

If a person's old life is not passed away, then they are yet carnal.

Romans 8:6
For to be carnally minded is death

Ephesians 5:21, introduces a principle that precedes and underlies everything about relationships, submitting to one another in the fear of Christ. This instruction is not directed to a specific group within the community, it is universal, addressed to all believers without distinction.
