Saviour of the World !

Lets look at Jn 4:42; 1Jn 4:14

42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

What does it mean that Christ is the Saviour of the World ? Religionist who dont handle the word honestly would tell us this is saying that Christ is the Saviour of all of Humanity individually. That is not what these verses say or mean. Folks Christ Jesus isn't the Saviour of unsaved people. People who are lost frankly dont have a Saviour, for if they had a Saviour from Sin which Jesus Christ is Matt 1:21; 1Tim 1:15;Lk 19:10.

To say that Christ is the Saviour of lost souls is a contradiction of His very names sake !

What therefore does it mean ? Simply that Christ is the Saviour of the World of the Saved. All the People from all time, and races. The Nations of the Saved Rev 21:24

And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. Its the Saved World in Christ !

Now what about 1 Tim 4:10

For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

Is this scripture teaching that God is the Saviour of all men without exception ? No, God isnt a Saviour to men that arent saved, thats a contradiction. What Paul is saying here is that God is the Saviour of all men, and so that it wouldnt be misunderstood that he intends all without exception, he adds a qualifier, especially or particularly them that believe.

It also denotes all men without distinction God saves, again which is evidenced by their believing. A Lost unsaved person lacks a Saviour, or they would be saved !

Also the word specially in 1 Tim 4:10

or therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

It means specifically, so it may read 1 Tim 4:10

or therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specifically of those that believe.

That would agree with what Salvation is in 2 Thess 2:13

3 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Salvation here is belief of the Truth as a result of a work of the Spirt which complements the Work of Christ !

Now what about the World in Jn 3:16 ? Thats the World of Believers, of Gods Elect/Chosen or His Sheep. I remember back in the day when you looked up the word world kosmos it would include in its various meanings " world of believers" but now that definition has been omitted ! Satan is behind that. John 3:16 was included in that meaning for the word world.

Man has taken the word believeth in Jn 3:16 and presented it as if God is saying that believing is a conditional act of obedience man must perform to get saved, but that's handling the word deceitfully, dishonestly. The word believing in the verse is a present participle, to be read:

That whosoever is believing may have everlasting. The objective end of God so Loving the Kosmos and giving Christ for it is so that it would bring about those believing. The believing is merely evidential of those God Loved and gave Christ for.

False teachers have taken in Jn 3:16 what is to be a evidential believing and made it into a conditional believing, as if its a command that man must perform to get saved, perverting the truth !

Repentance is given by the Saviour !

As it is with Gospel Faith, so it is with Gospel Repentance, its not of man, but the Gift of the Saviour. Jesus told His sent Messengers that Repentance and Remission of sins are to be preached in His Name Lk 24:46-47

46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

That they should be preached in His Name means they are products , effects of His Person and Work, His suffering and death and resurrection.

He was raised from the dead a Prince and a Saviour in order to give repentance and remission of sins Acts 5:31

31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

The word give[ didómi ] here means to bestow as a Gift

Its a word that denotes causative results, it means to bring forth, for instance how the word is used here Matt 13:8

8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

James 5:18

And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

So Christ as a Risen Saviour brings about and effects repentance upon them He's a Saviour unto, those He suffered and died for, mainly the Elect of God amongst all Nations !

Christ isn't ones Saviour if He doesnt give them Repentance !

Now the Israel spoken of in Acts 5:31 to whom their Saviour gives them repentance, its not national physical Israel, but a Spiritual Israel Chosen in Christ, and it includes some Gentiles Acts 11:18

18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

Israel the Spiritual Seed of Abraham and of Christ has Gentiles in it!

Also the word granted in Acts 11:18 and the word give in Acts 5:31 are the same greek word didōmi.

So one of the characteristics of God given Repentance is that it leads to an acknowledgement of the Truth as it is in Christ Jesus opposed to false doctrines sown by the devil and his servants 2 Tim 2:25-26

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Believing false doctrine and lies is a snare of the devil, only God can deliver us from ! 2

As stated, repentance is a Gift from the Saviour. Now to be more specific, how is it applied to them its given to as a Gift, namely Gods Elect ? Peter tells us here 1 Pet 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

All for whom Christ died, by His Resurrection from the Dead, they shall be begotten again ! These words begotten again are in the greek anagennaó and means:

I beget again, beget into a new life.

to produce again, beget again, beget anew; metaphorically: τινα, thoroughly to change the mind of one, so that he lives a new life and one conformed to the will of God

Notice that it changes the mind of one, this being begotten again. Now what is repentance ? Its the greek word metanoia and means:

repentance, a change of mind, change in the inner man.

So this repentance that is given by and through the resurrection of Christ, being begotten again, effects a change of mind, which what primarily what repentance entails. It gives also change in the inner man.

And so repentance is confirmed to be the Gift of Christ through His resurrection from the dead, and its given to all for whom He died as their Saviour !

Repentance in the matter of Gospel Preaching !

Repentance in the matter of Gospel message is a Salvation Gift, its an Spiritual act that can be performed only by the Spiritual man or woman, the natural man in the state of nature cant perform it, neither is called to perform it. Remember John the Baptist told the hard hearted Pharisees that came to him while performing the baptism of repentance ? Notice his words TO THEM Matt 3:7-9

7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

9
And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

However, Jesus teaches this Matt 7:18

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Repentance toward God Acts 20:21

Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thats a Good Fruit, and such that are left in nature cant bring it forth, simply because the natural man is evil and corrupt !

Thats right those in the flesh, the natural man, cant please God Rom 8:8

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Simply stated the unregenerate cant please God ! 3

Scripture that confirms that Jesus Christ as Saviour gives His People repentance, by blessing them and turning them from their sins Acts 3:25-26

25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

In light of repentance being of Christ and His Saving prerogative, it's not scriptural to make it a condition for sinners to perform in order to get saved.

Like Faith, True Repentance is from a Spiritual Source, its the Gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast. Repentance thats towards God can be that which leadeth to Godly sorrow 2 Cor 7:10

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

So this being true, this type of repentance in regards to salvation is from a godly source ! That godly source cant be out from the flesh of sinful man, which I believe can only worketh or lead to death ! 4

Opposite to what mans religion teaches, Christ the Shepherd is responsible for bringing the Sheep of God to repentance, and not the Sheep's responsibility to bring themselves to repentance. This is plainly seen in the parable of the lost Sheep, observe Lk 15:1-7

Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.

2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.

3 And he spake this parable unto them, saying,

4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
Now notice the man or shepherd, who I believe pictures the Lord Jesus Christ, He feels His responsibility to go out and find the lost Sheep that was under His care, He goes out until He finds it.

And its His finding it that results in its repentance and return Vs 5-7 f
