The solution here is a life of Bible study. For example, you overcome challenges by studying the Word, growing into the image of Christ. Serious bible students will learn how important it is to grow into the image of Christ. You don't only pray for these things, you work your bottom off by sitting down for hours and studying the Word by using gifted teachers who put out books and videos. I would start of with videos of Evangelical scholars. Lastly, don't rely on going to Church as your main source of teaching, and definitely don't rely on being taught the Word in a 30 minute monologue. I have rarely been to a church where the Pastor exegetes from the Greek text. A lot of Pastors have not even been trained in the original languages, but rely on others to convert the Greek into English. A Pastor needs to be very educated in Bible History, especially the NT History. Enough ranting, I am use to others rebuking me for this, but the Bible is extremely clear on growing into Christ.

I don't want to make reading a bad thing, it is just that it has its limitations. You can not seriously study the English NT without knowing the text behind the English. As more and more ancient Greek manuscripts are discovered, we can translate into English with much more assurance of what the text means. You don't know what a text means until you first study the source (Greek manuscripts). This is why Pastors and teachers need to have a strong knowledge of the NT Greek language. That is how scholars became scholars.
I agree. God has given us many promises in His Word. When trials come, we remember His promises to us and it helps us get through the trials in life.
