15Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: 16The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: 17But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. 18What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

I could provide a list as long as my arm of what I consider to be false teachers. And at the same time St Peter could provide you with a list as long as a freight train of those who have been brought to faith in Christ through their "ministries".

I like to think of myself as a student of Gods Word, and yet seldom has my understanding or eloquent expression of that Holy Word ever contributed in any meaningful way to the expansion of His Kingdom, at least to my knowledge.

On the other hand. The love that Christ has placed within me for others, and the genuine heartfelt obedient expression of His love to others, has been most productive.

Its not that I disagree with your principals. I just have a different perspective and approach.
True. I am evangelical and draw a hard line on what I call "soft sin", getting by with partial truth. I have a knack to see falsities. It is good to have a different perpective.

You are polite in expressing your opinions, but the fact that people have come to Christ, supposedly, after being exposed to false teachers, is no justification for erroneous presentations of Christ. Nor should we approve or praise such productions.

Philippians 1:15-18 does not speak of false teachers distorting the gospel, but of insincere, contentious preachers.

2 Corinthians 11:4 ESV

For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough.

Galatians 1:6-8 KJV

6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

The salvation of souls, by whatever means, requires no justification. Not that the ends justify the means, but because it is God who justifies. If Yahweh could speak to the prophet through his donkey, then He can speak to his elect children through a flawed presentation of the Gospel. In fact, God can and does call His children at various times through no preaching at all.

I saw the show, I'm aware of its errors, and I have also been greatly blessed by it. As have many others. I spent far too much of my life being far too overly critical of others in the name of Christ. In fairness, I was also too hard on my self.

Those days are done for me.

Your days of rejecting false gospels should not be done.

It is not overly critical to point out blasphemy and sacrilege in The Chosen. No one can be blessed by a distorted version of Jesus. You were entertained and you call that blessed. You love movies. You lack spiritual discernment, in this regard at least. But none of us is perfect.

The Bible contradicts your claim that God calls people through no preaching at all.

Romans 10

15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

And some people like to warn others about the biblical errors in various allegedly Christian productions. As church people go chasing after trendy things, true spirituality decreases.

The person who says Jesus was a liar — also likes The Chosen.

The person who says Jesus was a liar — also thinks the presentations of Jesus in the gospels are not relatable.

What does that tell you?

The women at the well is one of my favorite scenes in all of Scripture. The Grace shown in the character of the Messiah responding to the desperate women who said she could not talk to him if he came and he told her he came to Samaria just to tell her. Her emotional response of feeling redeemed by her savior is very powerful. Below is a vid short.

No. I was not referring Scripture but other films that portrayed the character of Jesus as above it all, and therefore, not relatable, lacking any kind of human, emotional depth.

One of the numerous times I cried like a baby watching this show. When Nicodemus kneeled to kiss Christ's hand I lost it. Amazing show and can't wait for this season.

Yes, the secret meeting on the roof with Nicodemus was very touching. Do you remember the climatic moment of S1E1 where Jesus finally made his appearance in meeting Mary at the bar, quietly telling her the drink was not for her, then she left distraught and he quoted Isaiah 43, invoking her name? "Mary of Magdala, I call you by name." The words reminding her of her father cut to her soul, stopping her in her tracks.

She turned, face the stranger, and when he completed the Isaiah quote, she fell into his arms. That moment was caught in paintings The Chosen sold. It took 7 months but I got one for my wife for Christmas. It hangs in our hallway and we pass it every day. Ours is not just a powerful God but a personal, emotional God.

How would The Chosen qualify as Jewish propaganda?
When the screenplay involves interfaith collabs and also resources from the Church of Latter Day Saints?
Interfaith . seen that did you my friend . Their goal is to merge all religoins to be as one
and under a god that all will beleive IS GOD .
But had any examined their interreligious dialogue , not to mention bothered to read scriptures ,
they had seen anti christ peace all over this merger .
I seen what they said and what they say my friend . To all religions and christendom . That we all serve the SAME GOD
in different ways . That the GOD of the christain is NO better than the god or gods of any religoin .
That we all serve THE SAME GOD . NOW THAT BE OF AN ANTI CHRIST .
No way do all these false religoins serve the same GOD we do . IF THEY DID
they had been CHRISTAIN , not muslim , hindu , or whatever du , THEY had BELIEVED ON JESUS ThE CHRIST
that HE IS the SON of GOD , CHRIST of GOD , Did die for their sins and ROSE again the THIRD day .
TRUTH begets and thus POINTS ONLY TO TRUTH . But a lie begets only more lies and much error indeed .
NO lie is of GOD . But reader and all do beware , men can and men do lie . BIBLE time in the building for us all my friend .

It tells me that had that person been in the days of JESUS they had done just like the very pharisees of JESUS day did .
IT tells me that HAD JESUS returned to earth again in the form of a man
And walked into their chosen image of another jesus places
WHY they RUN HIM OFF and accused him of having a devil .
People better watch out my friend .
For what i say and type to one and do say and type to all
IF JESUS and THE APOSTLES had walked into many churches
and spoke and walked and did as HE and later the apostels did ,
THIS PEOPLE had run them OUT with the cry that God is love and They are haters .
IF one finds this hard to believe . WHY just bring a bible into these so called churches of love
and ecumenicalism .
YOU SEE how they treat such words specially when such words contradict the god they put first , the one in the mirror .
You go to and behold what they would say about such words
THEN you will know , though you probably already do , SOMEONE is on T RIAL
in these churches and they are about ready to call for crusades against THIS ONE and HIS saints .
GOD , HIS CHRIST , HIS WORDS are on trial . and their verdict of such words , of such a GOD , a CHRIST
GUILTY OF HATE SPEECH , having a devil , being a monster and one that knows neither GOD or love .
THE ONLY problem is , ITS REALLY GOD , HIS CHRIST they say that too . We just mere vessels
who present HIS words unto them .

What is wrong with you to demand any portrayal of Jesus cannot for a moment show a lighter side of a character, one with a relatable sense of humor?

The person who says ...

The person who says ...

What does that tell you?
It tells me you are invoking Ad Homenim as a means to distract from your refusal to answer questions regarding your hateful rhetoric.

(also known as: discrediting, smear tactics, appeal to ethos [form of])
Description: To commit a preemptive ad hominem (abusive) attack against an opponent. That is, to prime the audience with adverse information about the opponent from the start, in an attempt to make your claim more acceptable or discount the credibility of your opponent’s claim.
Logical Form:
Adverse information (be it true or false) about person 1 is presented.
Therefore, the claim(s) of person 1 will be false.
Example #1:
Tim: Boss, you heard my side of the story why I think Bill should be fired and not me. Now, I am sure Bill is going to come to you with some pathetic attempt to weasel out of this lie that he has created.
Explanation: Tim is poisoning the well by priming his boss by attacking Bill’s character, and setting up any defense Bill might present as “pathetic”. Tim is using this fallacious tactic here, but if the boss were to accept Tim’s advice about Bill, she would be committing the fallacy.
Example #2:
I hope I presented my argument clearly. Now, my opponent will attempt to refute my argument by his own fallacious, incoherent, illogical version of history.
Explanation: Not a very nice setup for the opponent. As an audience member, if you allow any of this “poison” to affect how you evaluate the opponent’s argument, you are guilty of fallacious reasoning.
Variation: The appeal to ethos involves rejection of an argument based on a character attack of the person making the argument.
Gertie: Tony says that the movie starts at 8:00 tonight.
Jane: Well, Tony is misogynist pig!

Gertie: Hmm, we better double check that time then.

There really are too many such emotional scenes to mention them all. Be careful suggesting that Our Loving Father could ever have an emotion other than anger or righteous indignation.

“Emotional scenes” in The Chosen are simply tactics to produce fleshly entertainment, which is often irreverent, unbiblical fiction.

Dumbing down and distorting the gospels to make them appeal to worldly movie lovers is not a good way to present Jesus. But people who love watching movies may not care about reverence or scriptural accuracy.

They just want to slurp sodas and munch on popcorn while being entertained.

The falsified Nicodemus scene is an example.

I believe this scene captures the main problems with The Chosen overall. Take all of the complications with this scene and apply them to the whole show: different tones and settings; liberties taken with the characters and their intentions; changes made to the original dialogue to fit the story the writers are telling; and ignorance to the biblical context.

How can you not admit there are fundamental differences between The Chosen and the Bible?

Dallas said the gospel has been captured accurately, and then he says, “You’ll also see the historical context, the cultural context, and the personal human context that we added.” He doesn’t say they’re accurate; he says, “that we added.” What about the biblical context—is that not important to Jenkins? Indeed, even the historical, cultural, and personal human contexts are not accurate.

I don't mind seeing Jesus portrayed doing all the good things we enjoy but I do not like contradicting Scripture for the sake of "dramatic licence".

Unless we see Jesus' humanity (as well as His Deity) it is difficult to identify with Him as one who was tempted in every way as we are (Hebrews 4:15).
