They don't see the world like we do, they don't see Christ like we do. Its all about the rules, the doctrines and the dogmas etc. If Jesus passed them on the street they probably wouldn't even recognize Him. If He preached in their churches, they would run Him out the door and down to the edge of the nearest cliff. The healthy need no physician. He came not to call the righteous, but sinners (like you and me) to repentance.
"And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death. And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me."
"So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jona, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jona, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep."
There are those among us who feel that they need no repentance, or that they have repented once for all, as though its done deal, they now no longer sin. Well praise God for them.
I on the other hand, would think that I had died and gone to heaven, should the day ever come that I kneel before my Father with nothing at all to repent of.
Those who are forgiven much, love much.
