By eliminating negative thoughts and surrendering ourselves to God.By putting our trust in God."And those who know your name put their trust in you,for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you."(Psalms 9:10)

How do we eliminate bitterness within us? How does the Bible teach us?
If it's bitterness toward another person, a great way to eliminate that is to pray daily for that one. Pray that God would bless him and if he isn't a believer, pray that he would come to know Christ. I think it is very difficult to harbor resentment toward someone for whom I am praying. I often have to remind myself that I must forgive others because God has forgiven me. It's difficult to do this if the person is not sorry - but still, bitterness will only eat at you and steal your joy. Don't give someone else the power to rob you of your witness or your joy in the Lord. If you are experiencing bitterness because of a situation in your life that is causing you pain, try to unite your sufferings with Christ and offer up your sorrow & suffering for the sake of His Church. It's what St. Paul suggested in his letter to the Colossians: 24Now I rejoice in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church. Finally, ask God to remove the bitterness and fill your heart with praise.

We are told by our Lord Jesus to drink his blood,So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you." (John 6:53)and that means to share in His sufferings. But in the absence of pain, what we can do is to fast or to abstain from worldly pleasures.Inflicting pain on oneself is a sin."If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him.For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple." (1 Corinthians 3:17)But he answered, “It is written,'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ” (Matthew 4:4)so the word of God is flesh or bread. Something we eat.We are told by our Lord to love God with all our heartand with all our soul and with all our mind,And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heartand with all your soul and with all your mind." (Matthew 22:37)But how can we love God whom we cannot see?"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."(Galatians 6:2)And the King will answer them, "Truly, I say to you,as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me."(Matthew 25:40)"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.For all that is in the world — the desires of the fleshand the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions —is not from the Father but is from the world." (1 John 2:15-16)"Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God?Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God."(James 4:4)Church of Love in Jesus Christhttp://christiansite.multiply.com/journal

How do we eliminate bitterness within us? How does the Bible teach us?
"The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!" Matthew 6:22-23 "Let thine eyes look "right" on, and let thine eyelids look "straight" before thee." Proverbs 4:25 Focus on Goodness and Rightousness. It may be in a person, a television show, a book you are reading..choose "Good" Things to "SEE" and your body will fill with LIGHT/Goodness/rightness/positivity.If we constantly focus on Sin on television, in what we are reading..or even picking it out of our brothers and sisters.. then our body will fill with DARKNESS/Negativity/bitterness...What we choose to focus on will only get bigger. It's our choice to focus on the good or the bad things in this life. The ultimate example for PERFECT LOVE and RIGHTNESS is JESUS...the opposite is Satan. Those are our guides to start with...to answer the question..What is positive? What is negative? Then we can go out into the world with the knowledge to choose what materials we take in to ourself."We are what we EAT" spiritually speaking...WE become what we take into ourself.
