"Fulfilling my new appointment as Donkey Sheriff"

******************************************************
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
*The Work of the Spirit *

(Phil. 1:6) “I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ” This hope we have found in the return of Christ and is noted as the continued work of the Holy Spirit in our personal experience of that assurance.

“Hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us” (Rom. 5:5 NASB)

This is important as there is nothing more concrete in evidence pertaining to promised salvation in a believer then the obvious indwelling of The Spirit, not only a life turned around but even his deeds baring fruit as he cultivates a mind always concerned over matters of a higher nature.

A.W. Tozer “Holiness, as taught in the Scriptures, is not based upon knowledge on our part. Rather, it is based upon the resurrected Christ indwelling us and changing us into His likeness.”

There is no greater evidence than a believer’s testimony. The Spirit’s work is evangelistic, one man’s testimony to the other, a true story of a life saved to inspire others to give thoughtful consideration as God knocks upon the door of their hearts, is it not time to contemplate one’s own eternal destination.

Are we lacking inspiration, maybe its time to reach out?

In the account of Matthew Jesus gives a discourse of eschatology where he speaks concerning end times. During this discourse Jesus encourages us toward evangelism saying;
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations” (Matt 24:14)

This becomes known as the Great Commission the evangelization of the world as we await our Lords return.

Larry Hart “The ultimate meaning of history between the Ascension of our Lord and His return in glory is found in the extension and working of the Gospel in the world”
(Hart, L. D. (2005). Truth Aflame: Theology for the Church in Renewal (Revised ed.). Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan (Chap 9. Page 448)

After Christ’s ascension and the later indwelling of the Holy Spirit, all believers to this day have taken up a heart of evangelism in what is a natural response to Jesus's command
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matt 28:19)

We all have different “gifts” (1 Cor 12:4-6) and these gifts are there for this very task, weather we sing or play an instrument, write books or build houses, a follower has been given a great opportunity to share in this good work alongside his brothers and sisters.

When we see the difference made in another’s life through an attitude of Christ likeness, we can find a great source of hope and joy as we are inspired each day through the Holy Spirit.

Luke 6:45
“A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.”

Light of the world
The world in its own way tries to swap empty pleasures for joy, likewise the Christian conforming to discipline and duty finds no pleasure in the gospel and thus eventually loses hope.

In the revival of recent years the Lord through the Spirit had restored a forgotten joy to his people. The importance of this joy is emphasized in the attitude of the church powered by the work of the Spirit.

In turn a hopeless world sees this joy and is encouraged, the influence tremendous, and the effect is both inside and outside the church. This suggests overwhelmingly that hope only has power when it is driven by the joy of the promises of God and joy can only flourish if the assurances of God are truly believed.

“I know the plans I have for you. declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. (Jeremiah 29:11)
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)

Jesus is the light
“In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness,…” (John 1:4)

Knowing God, The Experiential Dimension of Faith
[sharedmedia=gallery:images:482]
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your mind”
(Mark 12:30)

If God is there, can I really know him? The answer is yes!!
Evangelicals describe this as having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.”
E. Y. Mullins calls Jesusthe supreme revelation of God’s redeeming gracehe sayshe finds in his own soul that working of God’s grace which enables him to know Christ and to understand the Scriptures.
This is the experiential and subjective element to the working out of essential theology,
(our understanding about who God is)
Mr Mullins saysThus the objective and subjective elements find a unity and harmony which is entirely satisfying.
L. D. Hart Author of Truth Aflame calls it a balance of “heart religion” and “head religion.”
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart . . . and with all your mind” (Mark 12:30)

Boastful Christians think Matthew 24:14 refers to them

It is an Angel who will preach the gospel to all the nations
Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language and people
Revelation 14:6

Just before the end time harvest of the earth
So he who was seated on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested
Revelation 14:16

And then the end will come
Matthew 24:14

Let me get this straight, here I was talking about the great commission and Jesus's message about furthering the Gospel.

and then you came along posturing in your own knowledge to set me straight and label me as a "Boastful Christian"

I think Jesus would be glad you've got his back.

The great commission was to the Apostles
The gospel will be preached to the whole world by Angels

We are being boastful if we think that mandate belongs to Western Gentile Christians
It is a miss-application of scriptures , that was my point
Some people get swelled heads because of it

We are to evangelize and spread the gospel , yes , but that is something different

Posting to Christians on a christian forum is not evangelizing
Posting the gospel to the saved is duplication , the saved have already heard and accepted the gospel
But it makes us "feel good" and "feel religious" and "feel superior"

Well firstly Mr Martin W. Its not just Informed Christians and the saved who visit these forums but thank you for spewing your pious unfruitful little judgments on me. however unlike yourself I dont do it to feel religious or superior. so you can go ahead and pull your head back in.

As for me the only boasting I do is in Christ, which is why I love to share what I know and nothing I said was wrong and there's nothing wrong with doing it.

You assume that the instructions given to the first Christians somehow do not apply to the last, but your bias comes through when you single out Gentiles in your comment. and your starting comment calling us all boastful.

Now weather or not the text I used was "mis-application" is debatable and played no bearing on the message I was sharing and I dont know anyone who gets a swelled head over it as you would exaggerate especially considering it is still up to Christians to spread the gospel message anyway.

If you had of simply wanted to talk about the scripture I used then we could have had a civil conversation, because I actually found what you said interesting but there is very good body of Biblical evidence against your view point in all directions.

However that's not what you intended is it MR Martin W, No instead you took the opportunity to call me boastful and then you postured in your own knowledge and you got caught out doing it.

Where I come from if it quacks like a duck and looks like a Duck,.........guess what................ITS A DUCK

Hey Madad, when someone wrongly divides the word, what can you do if they are set in it ? Remember when I was upset about the lack of prayer here, and the carnal language ? You calmed me down. **thumbs up to you** I hope you don't let this get to you. I mean, it's hard to tell what someone is feeling through the typed words, but I'm hoping you're not too upset. You can't see facial expressions or body language....

They will find out eventually. ;)

And I've got to say one thing though : It's the angels' responsibility ??

Thanks Laid, I got to be honest its the share arrogance that gets to me at times. people who seem to only exist to work against the Kingdom. see how much this guy spewed out trying to convict me of feeling superior and religious and boastful because I boast in Christ in the Apologetic section of the forums.
How fruitful he is, pulling down another man for speaking openly about the Lord in a way that is uplifting and inspired through the love of God.
Us gentiles should really learn our place

Are you aware that Revelation 14:6-7 refers not to the gospel of Jesus Christ, but of the gospel of the fear of the Lord. This gospel has been known by man since Adam and Eve hid their nakedness from him.

LOL

Actually I have to admit I need to pull my head in a bit too, theres no point getting upset because I loose what Im trying to do by allowing myself to be played like that, and the enemy has a victory.
Jesus has been incredibly patient with me and he has forgiven my sins, his mercy and grace knows no bounds for those who love him, he says I need to love the Lord with all my heart and love my neighbor as myself. I need to learn to take a breath and turn the other cheek, let these guy do what they like because at the end of the day its not me they are going to be answering to.
I love the Word of God and I carry it in my heart, my goal is to speak it anywhere anytime not just on these forums. I actually try to live the Word to the best of my ability for now until I can go deeper and get closer again. I have nothing else to give the Lord except my life and though I wish to hand it over gladly I know that it will take a lifetime and then some to do so.
Paul said to live is Christ and to die is gain. That is it in a nutshell, I could care less for all these self ordained bible scholars tearing down Gods word and diminishing the divine nature of our Lord who is one in substance with the Father and the Holy Spirit.
Theology without experience is dead, its just an arid wasteland without life, a skeleton without a Spirit.

Jesus said "Love the Lord with all your HEART and your mind" (Mark 12:30) Not just with your mind or all it is is "Head religion" uninspired and lacking Spiritual Wisdom.

I thank the Lord my God for the grace he shows us through his Word that he may allow us to hold in our hands the key to salvation and so place it in our hearts.
Amen
