Hi Jack, Again a little confusing. I think we agree. Even though a new temple might be built, I don't think any aspect of God will abide there until Christ returns and rebuilds Jerusalem.
Thank you for your response again and caring!

From my simplified view, all stands or falls on the credibility of IIThess.2:4's "Sanctuary" which is presently being built in men's hearts today or IIThess.2:4's "Temple" which will be built in the future, ie, naos vs. ieron?

Old thankful Jack

btw we must be doing something right as had the antichrist, seems like personally, after me lately or there's a victory somewhere I'm not seeing? Old Jack also trying to shake him off my trail.,...

Why can't it be both? In men's hearts for believers and a temporary temple built with hands for unbelieving Jews in the near future.

You're the cause of the other guy coming after me (you obviously really care what Jesus did at the Cross beyond the "1" hour on Sunday worship)...lol with you...good question my brother.

First and foremost the rendering of naos is always the "Sanctuary" in the N.T., and never "Temple" complex including the "Sanctuary" building located in the center of the Temple (ieron).

Secondly, it's being built in the hearts of unbelieving Jews even at this moment, including the past and "near future" where there will be a "remnant" of Christian Jews upon our Lord's Return.

Only an opinion,

Old Jack

Hmpf! Some "remnant!" Did you know that there are over 150 Messianic synagogues just in Isra'el alone?! And, that's not counting the THOUSANDS in other parts of the world! Wikipedia says, "In 2008, the movement was reported to have between 6,000 and 15,000 members in Israel and 250,000 in the United States." Remnant? Come again?

Hi Retro, Considering that all those that are eligible for citizenship under the Law of Return equals 21.7 million and that as of 2013 the US population of Jews is est. at 6 million and the 2013 census in Israel put Jewish residency at 6,040,000, I would say that your figures of 271,000 plus do qualify as a "remnant". Equate the percentage of people who claim to be christians equal to those who aren't really Messianics and your numbers go down, follow that with the amount of unsaved Israelis who will be killed in the latter days and those who choose to follow the a/c and the number gets reduced even more.

Several prophesies say how only a remnant of the Jews will be saved. Zech 13:9, Isaiah 6:13 and Isaiah 29:4 they will be hiding in bunkers under Jerusalem. But in Ezekiel 21:1-7...the Lord intends to make away with both the righteous and the wicked....
Heavy stuff!
As for the OP: the Third Temple will be built by Messiah ben Joseph, the leader of the Northern tribes, when they go to live in all of the holy Land, soon after the forthcoming Day of the Lord's wrath.

Thank you for your response again!

Rom.11:5, "...there has come to be a remnant (a leftover) according to an election of grace..." Again the true Israel, God's people has come to consist of only a a portion left (Jewish believing Christians), but the main bulk gone, eg, (Messianic synagogues).

The Jews will not disappear as one may think. They will endure, remnant of Jewish Christians, until the last Gentile is brought into the Kingdom of course, and the Lord Returns for the great judgment. Rom.11:25, 26, "...that petrification in part has come (and thus continues) for Israel (physical Israel) until the fulness of the Gentiles shall come in v.26 and thus all Israel (Spiritual Israel - remnant of Jewish Christians) will be saved..."

I would encourage you to look over Mr. Augustine's work of long ago.

Old Jack even trying to squeeze through that narrow portal not allowing the antichristain power and authority to rebuild in my "Sanctuary," IIThess.2:4, this very moment.

What a God! What a Plan! In fact, it is so big a Plan that it's out of your reach! Sorry, bro', but you are WAY off base.

First of all, let's look at the contexts of the verses that you've quoted:

Isaiah 29:4, 6 (why only THOSE two verses?):

Save a little time.

First of all, siege works and towers are only needed and only work against WALLED CITIES! Jerusalem today is NOT a walled city!

Retro... God is speaking of their counsel inside of their heart. What they believe
causes a wall to be set up so the rest of the people can't understand the truth.
Jesus tore down that wall of partition and opened up the way for all people. The
Jews wanted no part of it so they crucified the Lord thinking they were doing the
Father service. They were blind and had a wall around their understanding. Jer.
19:7 says,

7 I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem
in this place, and I will cause them to fall by the sword
before their enemies and by the hand of those who seek
their life; and I will give over their carcasses as food for
the birds of the sky and the beasts of the earth.

God is going to temporarily hurt them, but in the process, He is going to DESTROY their enemies!

Not sure what enemies you're talking about, but I think you are referring to Isa. 29:7-8.

7 And the multitude of all the nations who wage war against
Ariel, Even all who wage war against her and her stronghold,
and who distress her, Will be like a dream, a vision of the night.
8 It will be as when a hungry man dreams - And behold, he is
eating; But when he awakens, his hunger is not satisfied, Or as
when a thirsty man dreams - And behold, he is drinking, But
when he awakens, behold, he is faint And his thirst is not
quenched. Thus the multitude of all the nations will be Who
wage war against Mount Zion.

Who is interested in the physical city of Jerusalem? In order to understand these scriptures
we must ask ourselves this question. Well, how about Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Sounds
like a very good start.

Jeremiah used a metaphor to explain how the people who had interest in what happens to the
city of Jerusalem, and said, it would be like a dream, hunger, and a thirst that couldn't satisfy
the aspirations of the believer of these people. Every Jew, Christian, and Muslim will be rejected
in claiming the city that is so dear to their heart (religion). Jer. 19:11-12 says,

11 and say to them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, "Just so will I
break this people and this city, even as one breaks a potter's vessel,
which cannot again be repaired; and they will bury in Topheth
because there is no other place for burial.
12 "This is how I will treat this place and its inhabitants," declares
the LORD, "so as to make this city like Topheth.

God will destroy Jerusalem with perhaps nuclear missiles and no one who has interest in this
city will be satisfied. The Christians will say where is Jesus. I thought the Jews were going to
build a temple, but now because of radiation everywhere we can't even go to visit. It's going
to be like a dream... this can't be... that's not what Retro told me... just kidding... I love you
Retro.

In essence, they will not be able to comprehend what has happened because none of them win.
They will all be devastated when they see the city completely destroyed and no one can inhabit
that great city.

Jeremiah 19:6? REALLY?!

Clearly, this prophecy is about Nebuchadnezzar's destruction of Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) LONG ago! Done! Over! Finit!

Now, regarding your theory that ...

Making sacrifices are NOT the abominations that caused the desolation of Jerusalem 40 years later!

Sure it's about Nebuchadnezzar... have you not heard of the Great Mystery Babylon. That's what I'm talking
about. It is coming down in our lifetime. The beast empires have been going on since 607 b.c. and the Babal
is what God is going to silence. Everything that's spoken and is not of God will be destroyed. You know, like
building a physical temple in Jerusalem to offer up animal sacrifices, because they don't believe that Jesus is
Lord. They want believe that anymore, because God will open their eyes in the 2nd resurrection. He will change
their thinking by destroying their idol.

As for as sacrifices not being abominations or the reason for the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 to 73 a.d. is
what Jesus said, the prophets and the ones sent they stoned. Why did they stone Paul? Because of what he
said. What did he say? Heb. 10:10-12 says,

10 By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of
Jesus Christ once for all.
11 Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the
same sacrifices, which can never take away sins;
12 but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT
THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD,

My point is, why are we even entertaining the thought of the Jews building a temple and offering up animal
sacrifices as though it is something that is great. Even if God would allow it, it would be abomination. We need
to teach what Paul was teaching the Hebrews. Do you think they believed what Paul was telling them. No! He
was going against their established traditions and that's why they stoned him.

Why do you think they rejected Jeremiah? Because of what he said... Jer. 19:15 says,

15 "Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, 'Behold, I am about
to bring on this city and all its towns the entire calamity that I have
declared against it, because they have stiffened their necks so as not to
heed My words.' "

What words did they not heed to. Jer. 19:4 says,

4 "Because they have forsaken Me and have made this an alien place
and have burned sacrifices in it to other gods, that neither they nor
their forefathers nor the kings of Judah had ever known, and because
they have filled this place with the blood of the innocent

I'm going to leave you with this... Eph. 2:21-22 says,

21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into
a holy temple in the Lord,
22 in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God
in the Spirit.

What a God! What a Plan!

Granted. You're right, of course. When you put it that way, yes, we still have a "remnant." HOWEVER, I find it encouraging that Jews and Isra'elis and Hebrews worldwide are coming to the Messiah Yeshua` by the THOUSANDS, even as we speak (or write)! I also find it encouraging to ponder the prophecy of Yeshua` in Matthew 23:37-39.

Matthew 23:37-39
37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
38 Behold, your house is left unto you DESOLATE.
39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth (from now on), till (until) ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
KJV

And, "Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the LORD" comes from Psalm 118:26:

Psalm 118:22-26
22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
23 This is the Lord's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
25 Save now, I beseech thee (Hebrew: howshiy`aa naa', transliterated into Greek as "hosanna" in Matthew 21:9), O Lord: O Lord, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.
26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.
KJV

Hey, we finally can agree to agree, ie, "it CERTAINLY is not already in the past," past. And here you thought I thought it was already in the past, past...see we can agree to agree my brother...sometimes.

Old agreeable Jack

Thank you for caring!

Do you mean Jn.2:19 isn't going to come to pass? Or IIThess.2:4?

Old curious Jack

I second the motion - "it ain't gonna happen". You are "cherry picking" the scrioptures again.

John 2:19-22 (NIV2011)
19 Jesus answered them,
“Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”

20 They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?”
21 But the temple he had spoken of was his body.
22 After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.

As usual Jesus was talking in metaphors again.

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 (NIV2011)
3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.
4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

The "rebellion" was the start of the Jewish Roman war. This man of lawlessness was the Zealot leader Eleazar ben Simon who took over the Temple with the approach
of Cestius Gallus with 30,000 to 45,000 troops. So historically these were the two events that Jesus warned his followers to watch for - and it took 36 years for it to happen.
The Zealots had taken over the temple and ussed it a a fortress. Outside the armies of Cestius Gallus surrounded the city.

These two events were the signal to flee the city. Eleazar the terrorist desecrated the temple far more than Antiochus did. He also put his agenda ahead of the strict protocol that Moses
had etablished. He userped God Himself - setting himself up as God. At one point Josephus says that there were 8,500 bloody bodies stacked in the temple. Does this sound like desecration?

It's already in the past; and God is not going to lead Israel back into the old sacrificial system. The Old Covenant is closed forever. Read Hebrews - that which is old will soon pass away - and
t did jut six years after Hebrews was written. (70 = 64 = 6)

I think "keras" knows what he is talking about.
I expect a physical temple to be rebuilt, right next to the Dome of the Rock Mosque.
The original temple would have been between the eastern and western gates.
The ark would have been placed on the rock outcropping currently covered by a small building known as the "Dome of the Tablets"
Events in Israel (such as creating all the instruments of the temple)
and my own research on these topics leads me to conclude that the Third Temple will be rebuilt very soon (by June 2016 at the latest.)

John , in Revelation, brought by the Spirit, to the Temple Mount and told to measure for the Temple but not to include the outer court as that has been given over to the gentiles. The gentiles were always allowed in the outer court. Today, those gentiles are the moslems( of course so are we). There is plenty of room for the temple itself.

But you can't just build a temple. There are some pretty miraculous things that have had to happen to get everything just right, must be done according to the instructions of God. .

A few of these are:

A certain purple dye that comes from a certain octopus, thought to be extinct, until some Japanese snagged one. Now they got the dye

No one knew exactly what was in the holy oil used for anointing ( people disagreed ), until an ancient jar was dug up containing that oil. Not to mention the finding of that oil was led to by another metal scroll that was dug up pointed to a certain holy treasure

A certain herb that must be used in the oil was extinct, until a jar was found by archeologists containing ancient seeds of that plant and they were germinated and now they have the plant

the ( perfect) red heifers needed for sacrifice. well, a good number of years ago, an American rancher, decided to try to breed into existence true red heifer . he had no idea why it was such an impulse but he succeeded and has donated a herd to Israel who are growing them in accordance to the Law

Finding the true priestly tribe, the levites, or cohens for the priests. Then the cohen gene was discovered. then the Ethiopians jews were rescued who had the largest amount of cohen genes

Accordingly, all the gold items have been made

The priestly garbs have been made

Scripture says that there will be a covenant made( by Anti-Christ)( a man of false peace) ( with the Jews) ( and there will be a temple) it will be broken after 3 & 1/2 years.

Well, I can most certainly and wonderfully agree with you that the Holy Spirit does indeed dwell within us.

Meanwhile I am thankful that all the disagreement over a third temple is not a cause that counts for salvation.

Interesting to me is that so many very learned and very deep Christians disagree about many things in the realm of prophecy concerning the end times, and, make very good arguments .

I am going still with a physical temple.

God did say, through His prophets, that there will be a Third temple. He gave the details for its construction to Ezekiel - 40-48 and in 43:2 we see that the Shekinah Glory will go into it. Haggai 2:6-9 says this will happen AFTER the Lord 'shakes the nations', then the 'splendour of the latter House will surpass that of the former'. This 'shaking of the nations' - the Sixth seal worldwide disaster, the Psalm 83 destruction of the Lord's enemies, is the next prophesied event we can expect. Nothing like it happened before the building of the Second Temple, circa 500 BCE, but it will now and that 'shaking' will remove the present structures polluting Mt. Zion.
In the NT, we have Paul in 2 Thess. 2:4 the adversary....will enthrone himself in God's Temple......Daniel 11:31

This great Temple will be built by the new Israelites, Isaiah 58:12, when they, the Lord's righteous people settle into all of the holy Land. Isaiah 62:1-5
