Joh 11:23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
Lazarus would be resurrected.
Joh 11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
Martha knew he would rice again in the resurrection at the last day.
Joh 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Jesus changed the subject to say that he was the resurrection and the life. Adam died spiritually when he ate of the tree of knowledge, but Jesus would give that life back to those that believe in him.
Joh 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
If we live and believeth in him, our spirit goes right up to heaven to be with the Lord.
For those that believe the above, when is our resurrection?
It is when our natural body passes away, not at another coming of Jesus. Resurrection was for the Jews when the first covenant passed away. That would have been in seventy AD and Jesus and the Disciples judged them at that time.
Mat 19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
John saw the spirits of them that sit upon the thrones with Jesus. That has to be the disciples, and they would judge the tribes of Israel. Christians were not judged by the disciples and we do not judge the Jews.
All of this to say, Christians go on to be with the Lord at the time our body passes away. At every funeral I have attended, the eulogy given includes this fact. The Jews that had passed away prior to Jesus coming as the Messiah were raised on judgment day (the day the temple was destroyed, 70 AD).
Why would Christians think that the age of law is still in effect and the faithful Jews are still waiting for their resurrection?
The scriptures above are true.
Rom 3:3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?
Rom 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
