This country isn't perfect - but I wouldn't want to live in a country that was 100% Chrisitian. Because it would be who's interpretation of what's Chrisitan? Some Chrisitans think women should only wear dresses - are women's jeans now illegal? What about divorce? Some people think marriage is till death do us part (I'm one of them) but who am I to tell "Mrs. Husband beats her" that she can't divorce him? Some believe that alcohol is a sin? (Quote)The late Dr. J Vernon McGee preached on this the best: "When Paul preached about submission in Marraige, he was talking to believers. Both the husband and wife being a believer. A Woman is not commanded to submit to a godless alchohic wife beater".How about divorce because the man met a younger, better looking woman? Do not judge? Some believe that "chatting" is unchristian.. are we going to outlaw that? See how ridiculous it becomes? No thanks. I like the freedom to worship God as I please - not as your brand of Christianity dictates. I want a government that will protect the rights of Wiccans as strongly as it will protect MY rights.(quote)While members of the extreme religious right would indeed do this, the Current trend is that wiccans and other pgans are demanding the government defend them from the Word of God. Just hearing the word appears to burn their conscience. Now that we are refining marriage, should government put a gun to the head of a believer and force him to pay benifits to same sex couples? This is where we are headed. The Gospel does not need any government to uphold it nor can any government destroy it. Any government which tries haws signed its own death warrant for God deterines the times and boundries of all nations.

How am I standing up for a lost cause? Because I choose to focus on the GOOD of our nation, rather than the bad? Because I am so very thankful that I can worship God in the Church of my chosing in the manner in which I choose? Because I think we've got it GREAT here in this country.. no bombs dropping on our heads - for the most part enough food & shelter, a free education and opportunity to be whatever we want to be. Look - I think all goodness comes from the Lord. I am happy I am an American and I thank him for all of the blessing we receive by being Americans. Have you visited a third world country lately? If not, you have no idea how good we have it. It's not perfect - but it's waaaaaaay better than most. And I'm thankful for that. (quote)You mean to wear blinders? We can do no wrong? We only bomb people who deserve it?It is better to allow people to run amuck rather than have a dictator keep them in line?We are soooo great and everybody is soooo evil so we just need to invade everybody and force them to be as godless as we are?To wear blinders and ignore what we are doing is not patriotic. The rights one boasts about are not part of the Gospel. We are in a crisis. As we slouch towards Gomorra, we proudly boast how great we are. We then invade other nations and claim to be liberating them when in reality, we are only forcing them to be a decadent as us. Or worse, we remove the external restraint causing Kaos and call it liberation. We need to stand against what we are doing wrong, not wear bliners and boast about how great we are.

Agreed - I don't need my government to uphold the gospel. That's MY job.

The late Dr. J Vernon McGee once preached "A Godly dictator is preferable to 535 godless representatives. Our 2nd President, John Adams was quoted "The Constitution was written for a moral religious people, it is inadaquate for the government of any other. Order and liberty can only coexist when people are inclined towards moral self restraint. The less control there is from within, the more is equired from without".In Romans 13, Paul warned that no government stands without God's permission and that anybody who rebels against a government rebels against what God has instituted. Who was in charge when he preached this? Nero.Nowhere in the Bible is "Democracy" AKA "The will of the people EVER spoken of favorably much less called for. NEVER! Every time the will of the people is mentioned in the Bible, it is in a negative light. Every time. The Book of Judges sums its self up with "There was no King in Isreal, everybody did what was right or wrong in their own eyes". Fed up with the lawlessness, The people cried out "Send us a King!"Most likely the only time ever in his entire career Pilate ever went by "The polls, he sent Christ to the Cross. One might argue it was meant to be but so was Christs betrayal by Judas. That does not in any way make Judas good.God deternines the times and boundries of all nations, not us with our wonder weapons. When you remove the restraint people are used to and have always known, youwill end up with Kaos. When you remove dictators who we consider to cruel because they actually execute criminals instead of coddle them the way we do and then seek to disarm their victims in order so they can kill less violently, you export our permissivness.God determines the times and bounries of all nations. Our ways are not his ways and even the most cruel dicator has his time and place. By todays standards, you would be calling on Bush to Liberate the Jews from that "Evil dictator Moses" He killed over 3,000 people in one night because they "Democratically voted him out and thier Golden calf in."Later, he ws once again democratially voted out and he has God open the ground and swallow the rebels. Never is the wil of the people ever spoken of favorably.

In reading your posts I can only assume you are in or just out of school. You sound like the liberal teachers and professors. Well....welcome to the real world!Zechariah 10:3 Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the Lord of hosts hath visited His flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as His goodly horse in the battle. His anger toward the shepherds...the bad ones, those that lead His children with lies and the goats - our bad leaders.....they will be punished. The Lord "visited His flock" - the tribe of Judah and they are a "goodly horse" in the battle. Look at where they are now. A tiny little speck like David surrounded by enormous Goliaths but God visited them and made them strong in BATTLE. Not in pacification but in strength and battle. Do you listen to Him or to your professors?10:4.Out of him (Judah) came forth the corner, out of him the nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every oppressor together.Out of the tribe of Judah came Christ, the cornerstone. Oppressor is a bad translation and should be ruler, leader - good ones He can trust....for BATTLE.10:5.And they shall be as mighty men, which tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the Lord is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.Tread the prisoners down! Fight because the Lord is with them! He isn't telling us to place sanctions on them but FIGHT THEM, TREAD THEM DOWN!10:6 And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the Lord their God, and will hear them.God strengthens the house of Judah and the house of Israel (Joseph). You know who the house of Judah is. The house of Israel are the Christian nations of today.....He strengthens us for a purpose and it isn't so others can walk all over us.This age is not about peace. A favcorite of the neocon church. We are Isreal so we have a duty to go fourth and kill "Those evil Muslims"Here is the problem with your ministry of Bombs & bullets as you advocate sending kids to do what you yourself never did.1) Name one nation outside the boundries of the promised land the jews were commanded to go to war against. Every passage you mention is about the Pgan nations who were inside the Boundries.2) Whenever the jews went astray, God allowed the pgans to retake a portion of the promised land. This struggole went on until David finally conquerd every inch of the land promised to Abraham.3) Because David was a man of war, God would not allow him to build the Temple. His son Solomon who was known as a man of peace was allotee that honor. The Kingdom of Solomon, not David, Joshua, or any of the warrior Kings was the plan God had for Isreal. To be a shinning example of how a people can be blessed if only they turn to him. Not as a military conquerer who claims to be a liberator.4) When Solomon disobeyed God, he destroyed the Kingdom. From that point on, it was all downhill for the Jews. "We are Gods people and therefore we can do no wrong" Or as you profess "Sure we have some chaff but we are Gods people so we will be blessed" Has always been the teaching of false prophets.

Wrong again.I am a 26 year veteran. 13 years of active duty in Submarines and another 13 years in the reserves as an EOD diver (Hence my screen name). Having served and seen how corrupt and self serving the military is, I cannot worship it nor assume the role of tough talking chickenhawk who sends others out to do all the dying. Having been to just about every country in Europe and Asia, I have experienced first hand how we impose our ways upn them and how they detest us. Sure they smile as they take our money. I have been able to sit down and have a talk. The voice of "The man on the street" is fqr more accurate than what you recieve from that 21" peephole or the neocon talk shows.WhenI was a 19 year old fresh out of submarine school, I too was full of fire and vinagar, eager to go to war when the Gulf of Sidra incident occured. Viet Nam vets would take me asside and say "Trust me! You don't want a war! Pray that cooler heads prevail among our leaders!" I bet you were angry at Reagan for not going to war back then too. Easy to do that when you are not the one doing the dying. One former Marine was so fed up with my eagerness he slammed me against a wall and warned me "Pray for war in front of me one more time and I'll kill you!" 25 years later in the months following 9-11, we were diving under a real shipp searching for real bombs to disarm. Now I know how those combat veterans feel. You wrongly assume that anyone who is not a flag waiving chickenhawk who cheers on this war and calls for another is a liberal. I guess you also jopin the chorus is condemming any disillusioned veteran who comes back from Iraq and Afgahnistan as a coward (Once again, easy for you to do so).I am one who believes that the 2nd Amendment applies to both parties. While not eager to go to war because some expert has to explain it, I would defend my stand. I would be just as eager to shoot your storm trooper as I would Hillariys. Simply putting a Cross on those SWAT Teams does not make them any less evil.

Man this makes me want to cry, my dad is in Iraq, our Family Friend and my cousin in Law is going. My friend DARNELL WHOM THE MARINES TOLD, YOU HAVE NO FUTURE SO JOIN US, YOU WON'T GO TO WAR, JOINED THE MARINES, AND IS NOW A FRONT RUNNER FOR WAR. What has this Country gone into it's sad. I long to see the Day America is Judged, but I also long for the Day to see my fellow countrymen repent of their ways, turn away from the Apostate teachings of today's pastors and seek the Holy Ghost himself. America was founded on particular and dissected parts of the Bible, but not in totality. With that said, America is nothing more than another Russia, a super power that will turn against Israel. Believe me, America's Judgment is Russia's Nuclear Bomb. It was Thus Saith the Lord

Your going to Iraq to visit your dad?? wow Thats a big trip. You could be right on our judgement. I have heard though that if any one country sends a nuke here there is an automatic button that will deploy many back at that country. It will be a rough nation like Iran that doesnt care.

When this war first began, recruiters were "Promising trigger time" I guess that doesn't sell any more.

Thanks for your comments, or should I say, with all due respect, "opinions." Where is scripture? "Faith comes by hearing ... God's word." Do we prefer our own statements over God's word? I intend no harm dear brother. Christ Jesus speaking of those who believe, "I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are NOT of the world, even as I am not of the world." John 17:14. We all have to decide who has truth verses (in contrast) to our own opinion. Christian Patriotism--Who do we "first" represent? Government or God? What is Christian patriotism? Why it's "love of country," is it not?Patriotism is love of country. and the country that one loves is the country of one's birth, or of one's adoption by naturalization. If I may be very redundant ... Christian love of country can be nothing else than the Christian's love of the country of his/her Christian birth. The Christian birth is the new birth; that is, being "born again." John 3:3. This is being "born form above." And for a Christian that place is "above," a heavenly country. Heaven then is the Christian's country. The scripture states, "If ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." Galatians 3:29. God said to Abraham, "Get thee out of thy country, ... into the land that I will show thee." "HE ... obeyed," and "confessed that they were STRANGERS and pilgrims on the earth." Do you consider yourself a STRANGER on earth? "For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. BUT NOW THEY DESIRE A BETTER COUNTRY, that is, an HEAVENLY; wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He hath prepared for them a city." Hebrews 11:13-16. The question becomes ... do we represent God or man? (secular government).Prophecy, (Daniel and Revelation), foretells of coming events when secular government will be so "bewitching" in it's patriotism and "godlike qualities" that many will be deceived, because they chose man's ideals over Christ Jesus.blessings to you in Christ, Jake

We now, as true Christians, have to decide, "Who do we serve?" Quote, a preacher of righteousness:“From the statement in Rom. 13:10, that “love worketh no ill to his neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law,” it will be seen that Christian love does not possibly admit of wars and fightings. Its possession makes it impossible for one to say, as is frequently said in these days, “I have been an advocate of peace and arbitration for twenty-five years, but”—and then go on to say that under such provocation as now exists war is welcomed. “Love worketh no ill to his neighbor;” and no philosophy can ever make it appear that it does a man any good to kill him. When the soldiers asked John the Baptist what they should do, as followers of the Lamb of God, to whom he pointed, he replied, “Do violence to no man.” Luke 3:14. Those who asked were “soldiers on service,” as we see from the margin of the Revised Version. And the margin also gives as the alternative rendering of John’s answer, “Put no man in fear.” It would be a very mild war in which this command was followed. Love never does any harm to anybody; but love is active, since it is the life of God; therefore love is always doing good. Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, “went about doing good.” End Quoteblessings to you in Christ,Jake

Where in Scripture is the will of the people AKA Democracy ever spoken of favorably much less called for. Where in Scripture does any nation earn the right to be called the right hand of God? As you say, God or man? People claim that America is a great Christian nation and as such, has a duty to remake the world in it's own image. It has the right if not duty to bomb, invade, occupy, and force other to conform to that image. Where in Scripture does it say that?Too many love to quote the Book of Joshua. Fine, can anyone find one nation Joshua was commanded to invade which was outside the boundries of the land promised to Abraham? Every time one has declared "We are God's people and therfore can do no wrong" Has been a false Prophet.

Sorry, but when we were called up, our job was domestic harbor security. Our mission was to kill any enemy frogman who tried to attack the harbor and to disarm any bombs he suceeded in planting. You are telling me I had a duty to Christ to allow him to blow people up? I once had a rapist who threatened my family and when i warned him of the consequences, he went to someone like you to rebuke me for it.

If one truly does not believe in shooting anybody, one should not join the Marines. Even if the recruiter promises you that you won't have to go to war (Due to the M.O.S you are signing up for?). If one wishes to serve without having to use a gun, you can join the other two non combatant service forces, the Navy and Air Force. There is littler if any weapons training in Boot Camp and unless you go into one of it's expeditionary units, you will never touch another weapon for the rest of your career. Youcan fight a war chipping paint, waxing decks, polishing brass, and working in your specialty which is some technical or administrative job.

I can stick by God's revelation alone. Christ said, “My kingdom is not of this world,” and steadfastly resisted all human efforts to make him king. When two of his disciples wished to call down fire upon some who did not acknowledge his divinity, he rebuked them, saying, “Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.” And when Peter drew his sword in defense of the Master, he was sternly rebuked.Quote: “Blessed are the peacemakers; for they shall be called the children of God.” A peacemaker is not one who steps in between two persons or parties who are fighting, and makes them cease their battle. One may do that and not be a peacemaker, since people may cease fighting and still not be at peace. To avoid strife is a far more effectual way of making peace than to leave it off after it is begun. The peacemaker, therefore, is the one who is himself at peace. He is the one in whose heart is the law of peace, and whose mind is stayed on God. “The fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.”Christ said, “Blessed are the peacemakers; for they shall be called the children of God.” It was in this connection, during the same discourse, that He continued the thought thus:—“Ye have heard that it has been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: but I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. . . Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thy enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven.”Such an injunction as this, in such earnest and loving terms, certainly does raise the question as to whether they who do not follow this counsel can ever be the children of the heavenly Father. Is Jesus the god of battles and strife, or is He the Prince of Peace? He says He is the God of Peace. How then can He be the god of battles? He commands peace, and says, “Thou shalt not kill.”Does He also sound the call to war, and march with the heaviest battalions? Does our God blow both the hot breath of battle and the cool, sweet blessings of peace? How is it, then, is there a contradiction here? Is He the God of battles, or not? He is not, except as He is God over all, and will make the wrath of man to praise Him,—yes, and the wrath of Satan also. For it is he, Satan, who is the god of battles, in the sense that he incites to war and slaughter. It is a curious spectacle which is presented in the far East, as well as a mournful one; a spectacle unique in human history,—two heathen nations fighting each other with the weapons and the methods furnished them by their civilised, “Christian” neighbours. Having invented and perfected weapons of awfully destructive power, these “Christian” nations furnish them for a good price to two semi-civilised powers, and then look on with great interest at the slaughter. It is verily a curious kind of Christianity which allows a nation to help its neighbours to fight, to say nothing of incurring great expense in order to be ready itself to fight at any moment. Christians are not fighters, but peacemakers." End QuoteJake
