Test the spirit of the tongue...! If its of God use it. If its not of God Ask God to remove it.

The word 'unknown' is not in the Greek manuscripts. If everybody in the city speaking Greek, whereof the only person speaking Hebrew...but the person that spoke Hebrew understandeth Greek tongue, but the Greek understandeth not Hebrew...Therefore Hebrew tongue is 'unknown' to the Greek. Are you not typing and talking in the English tongue? Do you pray in a foreign tongue? (or primary language, I believe English is not your primary tongue)Jag

Like I said, I didn't believe that English was your first language...so if you are comfortable in praying in your language and understand it what you are saying. That's great.Jag

Then pray in whatever language you feel comfortable when you talk to God.

There is no restriction in languages when it comes to praying to God, as God understandeth all languages.JagLovest ye in Christ Yahshua, Lord and Saviour of the world.

amoy,It is always good to know what you are praying for so that when prayers are answered, you can thank the Lord for answered prayers.Praying in tongues is the same as speaking in tongues and both are not necessary. It was a gift given to profit the body of believers withal. In other words, as God gave the gift of tongues to someone, He would provide an interpretor for that tongues as two or three judge what was interpreted. Now that we have the King James Bible here, there is no need for God to do that in a round about way in edifying the church, since we are edified by the scriptures. I believe the gift of tongues has ceased and those that claim to have it, but has no interpretor, try to rationalize that tongues they have is a prayer tongue, but God did not give that gift of tongues to operate individually because it is unfruitful to those that hear it as well as the person saying it because there is no understanding it. 1 Corinthians 14 touches on that issue that people should seek to preach the Gospel.. as in prophesying more than speaking in tongues. There is a tongues that is of the world where there is no interpretor because it is gibberish. Some believers in error have that tongues by seeking another baptism of the Holy Spirit that comes with evidence with tongues and that is how the world gets it bu seeking another "spirit". That is the lie when they get believers to move away from their rest in Jesus to seek another spirit .. even if it is the Holy Spirit to come and fall on them which is hypocrisey because He is already in them as promised for all those that come to Jesus. They will say it is another batptism of the Holy Spirit, but there is only one baptism of the Holy Spirit.. and that is at salvation. Ephesians 1:12-15. KJVSo just pray in the language you are comfortable with so that you know what you are praying for so when you receive answers to prayers... you can thank the Lord for it!!!

The only proof of the presence of the Holy spirt is in what is prophesized(understood) if you are speaking garable that no one understands it is not from God. as Jag pointed out there is no unknown in the manuscripts. 1 Cor. 14 says this is never to be spoken bymore than 2 or 3 and only then if an interpeter. Pray in your own language so that you know what you are praying for.27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. 28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

On top of the yellow words. They also add works unto salvation that needs to be required...I loathe it...Even though I know, they are not following Him. I do feel guilty of giving them (the world) a high five. But my Father in the name of Yahshua, forgives me.(kriss;24291)

As my mum told me that if we speak in normal language that we understand, the satan will understand and know it so I'm not sure...My church practice pray in tongue...but I don't think that there is any interpreter ..so the conclusion is...if we want to pray in tongue then there must have an interpreter?right? So what can I do...

My advice get out of that church, It is clearly breaking the Word of God there fore it is not from God that this garble comes from. The church will not listen to you they are convinced this is a gift. God does not give gifts to those that break his word.

I can't really speak to the gift of tongues, that was never one I happened to receive. However if you prayed about it and feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit then I think you'll be ok.

Amoy,I pray in tongues all the time, it builds up your spirit man, which is your human spirit!Don't listen to those who tell you to get out of your church, that's ridiculous!God gave us the gift of speaking in tongues!Yes, in church when tongues are spoken out loud for all to hear, there must be an interpreter of that word! But to pray in your prayer language quitely or at home, is a great benefit!People that talk against speaking tongues on this site have never recieved this gift so they have no ability to give proper information concerning this issue!I Corth: 14:2For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God:for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.vs.4He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself;Study the scriptures yourself and don't limit God with the gifts that he desires to give to you!Paul made a statement that he wished that they all spoke in tongues!Paul also spoke in tongues!Let the Holy Spirit guide you to the Truth!

Acts 2:6 - Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.Acts 2:8 - And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?Acts 2:9-11 - Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
