Thanks again, Retro. I did think after I had posted, I might have got you wrong. However, I do believe the 'prince that shall come', that is: AFTER the Messiah, will be the Anti-Christ; the 'beast of Rev. 13.

Re prophesies fulfilled; because the historical record does not cite any past event that fits, because there is quite often a dual fulfilment, but mainly because what is described is in a context of end time prophesies, I am confident of my correct usage of all the prophesies that I quote.

Re wars; Is everyone happy to ignore Ezekiel 7:14? And how most prophesies about 'wars' say it is the Lord Himself who will destroy the enemies?
See, this is just what I’ve been talking about. Ezekiel 7:14 is NOT about our future; it was about ISRA’EL’S FUTURE before and during the Captivity to Babylon! Just go back to previous chapters, chapter by chapter, to see that he hasn’t changed topics and look at Ezekiel 1:1ff:

Ezekiel 1:1-7
1:1 In the thirtieth year, on the fifth day of the fourth month, while I was among the exiles by the K’var River (a tributary of the Euphrates south of Babylon), the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God. 2 On the fifth day of the month, which was during the fifth year of King Y’hoyakhin’s (Jehoiachin’s) exile, 3 the word of Adonai came to the cohen Yechezk’el son of Buzi, in the land of the Kasdim (Chaldeans) by the K’var River; there the hand of Adonai was on him.
4 I looked and saw a windy storm approaching from the north and a huge cloud with flashing fire, glowing brightly all around with the color of gleaming amber from within the fire. 5 Inside, there appeared to be four living creatures that looked like human beings; 6 but each one had four faces and four wings.
CJB

Ezekiel 2:1-5
2:1 He said to me, “Human being! Stand up! I want to speak with you!” 2 As he spoke to me, a spirit entered me and put me on my feet, and I heard him who was speaking to me. 3 He said, “Human being! I am sending you to the people of Isra’el, that nation of rebels who have rebelled against me — they and their ancestors have been transgressing against me to this very day. 4 Because they are defiant, hardhearted children, I am sending you; and you are to tell them, ‘Here is what Adonai Elohim says.’ 5 Whether they listen or not, this rebellious house will still know that a prophet has been among them!
CJB

Ezekiel 3:1
3:1 He said to me, “Human being, eat what you see in front of you; eat this scroll. Then go and speak to the house of Isra’el.”
CJB

Ezekiel 3:4-9
4 “Human being,” he said to me, “go to the house of Isra’el, and speak my words to them. 5 For you are not being sent to a people with a difficult language and unintelligible speech, but to the house of Isra’el — 6 not to many peoples with difficult languages and unintelligible speech, whose words you can’t understand when you hear them. Without doubt, if I sent you to them, they would listen to you. 7 But the house of Isra’el will not be willing to listen to you, because they aren’t willing to listen to me; since all the house of Isra’el are obstinate and hardhearted. 8 However, I am making you as defiant and obstinate as they are. 9 Yes, I am making your resoluteness harder than flint, as hard as a diamond. So don’t be afraid of them or depressed by how they look at you, because they are a rebellious house.”
CJB

Ezekiel 4:1-8
4:1 “As for you, human being, take a clay slab, lay it down in front of you, and draw on it the city of Yerushalayim. 2 Show it under siege — build towers against it, raise earthworks against it, set up camps against it, and surround it with battering rams. 3 Then take an iron griddle and put it in place as a wall of iron between yourself and the city, and fix your gaze on it — the city is under siege, and you are the one besieging it. This will be a sign for the house of Isra’el.
4 “Next, you are to lie on your left side, and have it bear the guilt of the house of Isra’el — for as many days as you lie on your side, you will bear their guilt. 5 For I am assigning you one day for each year of their guilt; thus you are to bear the guilt of the house of Isra’el for 390 days. 6 Then, when you have finished that, you are to lie on your right side and bear the guilt of the house of Y’hudah for forty days, each day corresponding to a year; this is what I am assigning you. 7 You are to fix your gaze on the siege of Yerushalayim, and, with your arm bared, prophesy against it. 8 I am tying you down with ropes, and you are not to turn from one side to the other until you have completed the days of your siege.
CJB

Ezekiel 5:1-4
5:1 “Now you, human being, take a sharp sword; and use it like a barber’s razor to shave your head and beard. Then weigh the hair on a balance-scale, and divide it up. 2 A third of it you are to burn in the city when the days of the siege are over. Take another third, and hit it with your sword all around the city. Scatter the last third to the wind, and I will pursue them with drawn sword. 3 Also take a few hairs and tie them up in the folds of your garment. 4 Again, of these take some; throw them in the fire, and burn them up; from there a fire will come out against the entire house of Isra’el.
CJB

Ezekiel 5:7-17
7 “Therefore here is what Adonai Elohim, says: ‘Because you have outdone the nations around you by not living according to my laws or following my rulings or even following the rules of the nations around you,’ 8 therefore here is what Adonai Elohim, says: ‘I too am against you, yes, I; and I will execute judgments among you while all the nations look on. 9 Moreover, because of all your disgusting practices, I will do things to you that I have never done before; and I will never do such things again. 10 Parents among you will eat their children, and children will eat their parents! I will execute judgments among you and scatter to all the winds those of you who remain. 11 For, as I live,’ says Adonai Elohim, ‘because you defiled my sanctuary with all your detestable things and disgusting practices, therefore I swear that I will cut you off — my eye will not spare, I will have no pity. 12 A third of you will die from plague or be consumed by famine inside [Yerushalayim]; a third will fall by the sword all around [Yerushalayim]; and a third I will scatter to all the winds and pursue with the sword.’ 13 In this way my anger will spend itself, my fury against them will die down, and I will be satisfied. Then, when I have spent my fury on them, they will know that I, Adonai, have spoken out of my zeal. 14 ‘I will make you a ruin and an object of reproach among the nations around you, in the sight of all passing by. 15 When I execute judgments and furious punishments among you in anger and fury, [Yerushalayim] will be an object of reproach, derision and horror, and a lesson to warn the nations around you. I, Adonai, have announced it. 16 I will send upon them the deadly, destructive arrows of famine, which I will send to destroy you. I will make the famine worse for you by cutting off your food supply. 17 Yes, I will send famine and savage beasts upon you to leave you without children; plague and bloodshed will sweep through you; and I will bring the sword upon you. I, Adonai, have spoken it.’”
CJB

Ezekiel 6:1-10
6 1 The word of Adonai came to me: 2 “Human being, face toward the mountains of Isra’el, and prophesy against them: 3 ‘Mountains of Isra’el, hear the word of Adonai Elohim: here is what Adonai Elohim says about the mountains, hills, ravines and valleys: “I myself will bring a sword against you and destroy your high places. 4 Your altars will be wrecked and your pillars for sun-worship broken, and I will throw down your slain ones in front of your idols. 5 I will lay the corpses of the people of Isra’el in front of their idols and scatter your bones all around your altars. 6 Everywhere you live, the cities will be destroyed and the high places wrecked; so that your altars can be destroyed and wrecked, your idols broken and abolished, your pillars for sun-worship cut down and the things you have made wiped out. 7 The slain will fall among you; then you will know that I am Adonai.
8 “‘“Nevertheless, I will leave a remnant, some who will escape the sword among the nations, when you have been scattered throughout the countries. 9 Those of you who escape will remember me among the nations where they have been exiled. How broken I have been over their whoring hearts that left me, and over their eyes that went whoring after their idols! They are going to loathe themselves for all the evils they committed in their disgusting practices.
CJB

Ezekiel 7:1-19
7 1 The word of Adonai came to me: 2 “As for you, human being, here is what Adonai Elohim says about the land of Isra’el:
‘The end! The end is coming
to the four corners of the land!
3 Now the end is upon you!
I will send my anger upon you,
I will judge you according to your ways.
I will bring on you all your disgusting practices.
4 My eye will not spare you, I will have no pity,
but I will bring your ways upon you,
and your disgusting practices will be done among you.
Then you will know that I am Adonai.’
5 “Here is what Adonai Elohim says:
‘Disaster, unique disaster — here it comes!
6 The end is coming! The end is coming!
It rouses itself against you — here it comes!
7 Doom has come to you,
you who live in the land!
The time has come, the day is near,
for tumult, not joyful shouts on the mountains.
8 Now, soon, I will pour out my fury on you,
I will spend my anger on you;
I will judge you according to your ways
I will bring on you all your disgusting practices.
9 My eye will not spare you, I will have no pity;
but will bring upon you what your ways deserve;
and your disgusting practices will be among you.
Then you will know it is I, Adonai, striking you.
10 “‘Here is the day! Here it comes!
Doom has gone out, the rod has blossomed,
arrogance has budded.
11 Violence has grown
into a rod of wickedness.
Nothing is left of them,
nothing of their crowds,
nothing of their wealth —
there is nothing of importance in them.
12 The time has come, the day has arrived;
let neither buyer rejoice nor seller regret;
for wrath is coming to all her many people.
13 For the seller will not return to what he sold,
even if he is still alive;
for though the vision was brought to all her many people,
nobody repented.
Each kept living his own wicked life;
they weren’t strong enough [to repent].
14 The shofar has sounded, everything is ready,
but no one goes out to the battle,
for my wrath is coming to all her many people.
15 “‘Outside is the sword, inside plague and famine.
Those in the country will die by the sword.
And as for those in the city,
plague and famine will eat them up.
16 But if any of them manage to escape,
they will head for the mountains
like doves from the valleys,
all of them moaning, each for his sin.
17 All hands will droop, all knees turn to water.
18 They will put on sackcloth;
horror will cover them;
every face will be ashamed,
every head shaved bald.
19 They will throw their silver into the streets;
their gold will be like something unclean.
On the day of Adonai’s wrath their silver and gold
won’t be able to rescue them.
These things won’t satisfy their hunger,
these things won’t fill their stomachs,
because these are what caused them to sin.
CJB

This is why one should read an ENTIRE prophecy, preferably in a single sitting, in a version which he can read comfortably, like the NIV or the NASB or the CJB or some such version that uses common English as we read and write today.

ONE CANNOT JUST PULL A SCRIPTURE VERSE OUT OF THE CONTEXT AND MAKE IT APPLY TO JUST ANY OL’ THING!

Retro, you see prophesies like in Ezekiel as history, even though it doesn't read exactly to fit past events. Near enough, you think, so the only reason it is still in our Bibles is simply for information and perhaps our admonition. But the facts are, there WILL be a further and complete fulfilment of most of those OT prophesies, as they are reiterated in the NT, esp. Revelation.

Ezekiel 7:2-13 The Lord says: The end is coming to the Land of Israel and devastation upon all four corners of the earth. The end of the age is upon you, I shall unleash My anger and call all to account for their conduct. I will repay you for all your detestable practices and will neither pity nor spare you. Disasters are coming, doom comes to you; dwellers in the Land, the Day is near, very soon a Day of panic will burst upon you.
Ezekiel 7:14-16 The trumpet has sounded and all are ready, but no one goes to war for the wrath of the Lord has fallen upon them. Outside is the sword, in the cities will be plague and famine. If any escape to the hills, there I shall kill them, for their sins.
Ezekiel 7:17-19 Every hand will hang limp and people will wet their pants with fright. They will put on sackcloth, shuddering with terror and covered with the shame of their iniquities. Their idols and treasure will not save them on the Day of the Lord’s fury, all their gold, silver and possessions will be as useless rubbish.
Ezekiel 6:7-10 As the dead fall about you, you will know that I, the Lord, have done this. But among the nations there will be some who will survive My punishment. They will know that the Lord did not threaten in vain, when the prophets said that this terrible calamity will come upon the earth.

No. This idea that prophecies can be fulfilled more than once is a MAJOR fallacy! Consider this for a moment: If a prophecy can be fulfilled more than once, HOW DOES ONE KNOW WHEN THAT PROPHECY HAS REALLY BEEN FULFILLED?! And yet, the Israelites were supposed to VERIFY the prophecies of their prophets to determine if they were true prophets of God or false prophets!

Deuteronomy 18:18-22
18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
KJV

What good would such a test be if one could not be certain that the event experienced was the fulfillment of that prophecy?!

Now, look at the portion that you listed above as "Ezekiel 7:2-13”:

"The Lord says: The end is coming to the Land of Israel and devastation upon all four corners of the earth. ....” This is the problem with modern versions that do not recognize the Jewish roots of the faith. It should have been “all four corners of the LAND!” The Hebrew word is “haa’aarets,” spelled “hei-alef-reish-tsadday,” and with the vowel pointing, “hei-qamets-alef-qamets-reish-segol-tsadday.” It means the “land” where farmers plant their crops. Again, this verse (Ezek. 7:2) is NOT talking about the whole earth, but only that portion of it where the children of Isra’el lived!

More later.

That there can and will be a dual fulfilment of many prophesies, is a well known and accepted belief. It Is you, Retro, that is in the minority in thinking they were all totally fulfilled in ancient times. Most that have been partially fulfilled, did not have the cosmic effects mentioned, or the finality as described happen then. Yes, In Ezekiel 7:22-27 it has, I believe happened, but not the rest of chapter 7. In verse 2 'eartz' is rendered in my REB as 'earth', but I see other trans say 'land'. But from 'the four corners', it denotes the whole world.

The test of a true prophet was never really able to be applied in the days of any of the prophets, incl Jesus. Only in our days, at the end of the age, will we see how the prophets spoke the truth of what must happen.

What I posted from Ezekiel is something that we can expect to happen very soon, it is only God's patience that delays it. The terrible Day of the Lord's wrath is coming and if we choose to deny it, we who are now 'as in the days of Noah', will be as shocked, surprised and DEAD as they were!

No, that’s not true! That’s not a “well known and accepted belief”; that’s a well known and misrepresented fallacy! I tried the reasoning approach; now, let’s try a more direct attempt: This is the TRUE rule:

It’s called the Law of ...

Techno-Speak: Double Reference

The term double reference is used to describe a Scripture passage in which part of the passage is fulfilled at one time while another part is fulfilled at a later time. Zechariah 9:9-10 is a clear example. Verse 9 was fulfilled during Jesus' earthly ministry; verse 10 will be fulfilled at Jesus’ second coming.
This is from Bible PROPHECY For Blockheads: A User-Friendly Look at the End Times by Douglas Connelly (Zondervan, 2002), chapter 2 titled '“I Will Return”: Jesus’ Second Coming,’ page 33.

It is NOT about a “dual fulfillment!” That’s a popularized fiction, a TWIST on this rule, that has NO place in the curricula of the serious student of Bible prophecy!

Notice it’s not a DUAL fulfillment; it’s a double REFERENCE. That is, it’s like a single line that goes up for “fulfilled in the past” and down for “yet to be fulfilled.” It doesn’t separate into two lines touching both the “fulfilled in the past” point and the “yet to be fulfilled” point at the same time!

Think of a graph on which there’s only two values on the y-axis: 0 and 1. (It’s digital.) The x-axis is a list of individual prophecies in biblical order. The line jumps back and forth between 0 and 1, but it NEVER touches both 0 and 1 at the SAME TIME!

Another example is found in Yeshua`s own quotation of Scripture:

Luke 4:14-21
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
KJV

Isaiah 61:1-3
1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
KJV

Yeshua` said that as much as He quoted was already fulfilled. The rest will be fulfilled at His second coming.

I find it fascinating that often the people that are waving the repent the end is near signage is either old or very young and new to Christianity.

What we have to realise is that the times we live in are quite good here in the western world.

Compared to the plague, which wiped out a quarter of Europe, we are walking in the park.

Think about that, there are tales after the plague where people could walk great distances and see not a living person. In Europe!

It is absolutely fascinating how people in today's world think it is bad. It hadn't even gotten close to bad,

In Europe, war and plague was more common than peace and good health for most of its history.

And someone how WE have it so bad it MUST mean The King returns.

I'll never understand how this comes up.

And worse still how after it does people chant, come quickly Lord. As if they are incharge of where and when The King comes and goes.

Unbelievable.

Psalm 102:12-14 You, Lord are enthroned forever, Your fame will endure to all generations. You will arise and have mercy on Zion, for it is time to take pity on her; the appointed time has come. Hab. 2:3 The Land is dear to Your servants, even the dust and stones moves them to pity.
Psalm 102:15-17 The nations will revere Your Name and all the earthy leaders; Your glory, when You rebuild Zion again. On that Day You will hear the prayer of the destitute, He will not spurn their plea.

Psalm 102:18-22 This will be written down for future generations, so that people as yet unborn may praise the Lord. He looks down from His sanctuary on high and surveys the earth. He hears the groans of the captives and He sets free those under a death sentence. So; when the peoples are assembled to worship, in Jerusalem, the Name of Y’hovah will be praised.

Psalm 103:6-14 The Lord is righteous in all He does, He gives justice to those wronged. He revealed His ways to Moses and showed mighty deeds to the Israelites. The Lord is compassionate and gracious, longsuffering and He will not keep His anger forever. He has not treated us as our sins deserve, but as the heavens are far above the earth, so is His love for those who fear Him. In His compassion for us, He puts our offences far away, for He knows how we were made and remembers that we are but dust.

Psalm 106:4-5 Remember me, Lord, when you show favour to Your people, look on me when you save them, that I may see the prosperity of Your chosen ones, so that I may rejoice in Your nations joy and exult with Your own people.
Psalm 106:47-48 Deliver us, Lord our God and gather us from the nations, so that we may give thanks to Your holy Name, we will make Your praise our pride. Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting – and the people say: AMEN. PRAISE THE LORD!

Isaiah 49:8-11 The Lord says; In the time of My favour, on the Day of Deliverance, I will come to your aid, you are My people; destined to be a light to the nations and to restore the Land. Go free now and in the Land, you will find food and water in plenty. It will not be too hot when the one who loves you will guide you along highways. My people, coming from all parts of the world, will shout for joy as they enter the Land. For the Lord has comforted His people in their distress. Ref: REB. Some verses abridged.

These verses describe a deliverance of ‘those who fear the Lord’. As ‘He looks down from on high and sets free the exiles’, so this must occur before the Return of Jesus. ‘My people, destined to be a light to the nations and to restore the Land’. This is the second Exodus – ‘His people, coming from all parts of the world’, will live in the new country of Beulah in peace and security. Isa 62:1-5 It is them who greet the Returning Jesus with: ‘Blessed is He that comes in the Name of the Lord’.

I stated something similar in this forum on a different thread:

I don't normally chime in on these conversations because I just make sure my soul is prepared regardless of when His return is. But, how long has the man on corner holding the "The end is near" been standing there. And time holds no value in the kingdom. Jesus spoke saying the 2nd coming is near. That was over 2000 years ago. So, we don't know how long we have left and really, if I took the time, I'm sure I could navigate through history and find just as many fulfilled prophecies a hundred years ago that we say are filled only recently. And do we really accomplish anything by bouncing back and forth on who's right and who's wrong about end times? When our Father returns, are we going to point at the guy we've been debating with and say "See, told you!". and what does that accomplish? Will God high-five whoever was right?

I think the best thing we can do is just live for Christ. Man, it shouldn't matter when the rapture is if you're living for Him. Does God want us spending time trying to break His code or Living for Him and being the best example of His love and why Christ is the Way? Should we not spend time loving our brothers and tell them the Good News!!!

When we sit and try to figure out when He is coming back and saying "look!! This is it!!" are we not on the verge of being the exact false prophets Christ warned us about? Eschatology is a good theology to know, but we should be cautious is we go to far or lose focus on who Christ really is. But is it not better to have faith and wait for Christ to bring us home, then to fight to find something tangible to prove the end is near. If you need the proof, you have no faith. Fix your hearts on Him, brothers. Show your neighbor HIs love, so they too will not fear but rather welcome the Kings return. We should spend less time pointing out where the terrible ways of man have pushed the world closer to the end and more time showing the lost ones where they can find the of their Savior and how He will take care of them, leading them to the fire where the flame will not burn them.

We can not even attempt to understand our Lord, but we can Love Him and live for Him. I'm sure He would rather see that than anything else.

B/A out!

Born Again, your sentiments are very good. But to say we cannot even attempt to understand our Lord, is a cop out. He gave us a Book with everything we need to know; how to live righteously, how to obtain eternal life and what He has planned for our future.
You are like most of our Pastors and leaders, avoid like the plague any reference to prophecy. When the Bible has so much prophecy, that can be quite a feat! Yes, it's all hard to get your head around, but to ignore the Prophetic Word is a serious error and leaves you 'in the dark'.
Please read carefully my post #87, try to put aside any preconceived ideas, theories, etc, and get the truth of what God has planned for His people. [be they descendants of Jacob, or grafted in to His people.]
We Christians should not be taken by surprise and shocked by forthcoming events. We have been informed, we should be at least mentally prepared.

I appreciate it. I understand our Lord is coming back for us.... I'm not looking to shy away from it. On this site, it's hard to avoid. HAHA!! I agree, pastors today don't talk about it much.
I personally focus on preparing my soul and heart. I enjoy the conversation though... God Bless Keras.

Divine judgment cannot be said to focus upon one day only. Certainly events transpire which pivot on a single day, if not an hour. To suggest that judgment is limited to a day or an hour is to deny the evidence of history as well as scripture. It certainly denies the portent of seasons and times as Our Lord cautioned us to watch.

Great events usually build up to a crescendo, like a symphony. They peak and then continue either in decline or increase.

For example, the judgment that is due America has already begun. The day of reckoning is near.

Following WWII, the United States became the chief among nations. Wallowing in our hubris and might, we began to deny God and to believe that our favored position was due to the work of our hands alone. As we have denied the power of God and relied upon our military might we have found ourselves trapped in constant and continuous warfare - none of which profits the common citizen or soldier. As we have denied the wisdom of God and relied upon our own, we have discovered the multiplication of foolishness in government and in our private lives. Those of us who have prayed for wisdom to be granted to our leaders have discovered that though it was granted, that same wisdom was used to betray us. As a nation we no longer trust God for security, nor do we seek Him for wisdom and the solution of our many problems. As a result we find ourselves now living in a fascist police state with our liberties dwindling each day.

And it gets worse.

America was once a nation dedicated to God and His ways. Today we deny Him openly and vigorously. We deny Him in our entertainment, in our educational institutions, in our actions and in our crimes against humanity. The Bible says that the Hebrews were judged because they killed their innocent infants. America has murdered over 54 million of its own children. Will God wink at this crime or will He justly punish?

America has trusted in its currency instead of God and now finds itself tottering from one financial crisis after another. Experts believe some sort of great national financial emergency is in our near future. There is a sense of expectation that something dreadful will happen. Can a nation, which has flagrantly opposed God long stand?

IF GOD DOES NOT JUDGE AMERICA, HE WILL HAVE TO APOLOGIZE TO SODOM AND GOMORRAH.

and that's just me, hollering from the choir loft...

The Day of the Lord's wrath is prophesied over 100 times. The Hebrew word used is 'yom' - meaning a literal day. In a few instances, where the context dictates it may refer to a longer period, but that is always obvious.
The fact is, from Bible prophecy, we see that what the Lord will use on that Day, will just affect the earth for a 24 hour period. Isaiah 30:26 is clear; the sun will shine with seven times its normal brightness....This and all the other graphic prophesies perfectly describe a Coronal Mass Ejection. Something the secular scientists warn us is likely to happen sooner or later.
Re America: Yes, you and all the nations are due for a shake up. God is patient and long suffering, but make no mistake, He will act to sort out His creation. He did it before, using a flood, this time it will be fire, earthquakes, storms and tsunamis. Be aware or 'remain in the dark'. 1 Thess 5:1-11

Isaiah 30:26 is not a Day of The Lord verse. It occurs "on the day the LORD binds up the fracture of His people and heals the bruise He has inflicted."

A coronal mass ejection does not make the sun appear to be brighter, nor does it make moonlight appear as daylight.

A coronal mass ejection will not burn a third of the earth, nor does Isaiah say it will in this verse, as will happen on the Day of The Lord.

Your opinion, Marcus.
Opinion, dictionary definition: A belief not founded on certainty or proof, but on what seems [to you] to be probable.

All who seek the truth, should carefully study all what the Bible says about the Day of the Lord. Your life may depend upon it.
Look at Rev. 6:12-17 and consider the terrible effects of that Day, how they match with so many prophesies, such as Isaiah 30:25-28.

Ridiculous.

You point to a verse which says that it happens on the day The Lord binds up and heals and then you believe, without any proof and quite contrary to and opposite of the catastrophes which do entail on the Day of The Lord from prophecy (because they say they happen on the Day of The Lord) - that this verse somehow applies where it does not -

And then you dismiss valid criticism as mere opinion. Your hubris is staggering. By your definition, saying Isaiah 30:26 is a Day of The Lord prophecy is nothing but opinion: yours and yours alone.

Methinks this man doth protest too much!
He is obviously in a state of denial that the Lord will carry out His plans to send a fire judgement to destroy His enemies.

What about another persons view on this: does Isaiah 30:25-28 speak of the Day of the Lord's wrath. or not?
Does Isaiah 30:26 mention a dramatic event on the sun and a huge increase of the moon's brightness?
This event matches with Rev 6:12, Joel 2:31 and Acts 2:20, the moon being bright red and the sun, after the initial extreme flash of the CME explosion, will darken as the ejected mass obscures it.
We ARE told what will happen, it is the height of foolishness to ignore it.

" America was once a nation dedicated to God and His ways."

Hogwash of the highest order.

No nation ever stood with The King. All are fallen.

Please do not state falsehoods.

We know from past history that the earth is vulnerable to sunspot activity. Usually this results in an aurora display and some interference to radio communications. However in 1989 the Quebec region of Canada was affected by a small coronal mass ejection, [CME] which damaged the electric supply system and communications network. A much more powerful CME struck the earth in 1859, that destroyed the early telegraph and power network, worldwide. Bible prophecy clearly tells us that this will be the means that the Lord will use to punish His enemies in these end times, when they commence their attack on the State of Israel.
When God punished mankind in Noah’s time, He then promised to never again use a flood, or kill practically all the living creatures, however evil they may be. I think you’ve put all your eggs in a crumbling basket. A CME is NOT what Yeshua` will use when He returns, although He HAS promised fire:

2 Thessalonians 1:7-10
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
KJV

2 Thessalonians 2:8-10
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
KJV

Revelation 19:11-16
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
KJV

Josephus told about the prophecy of Adam in his Antiquities of the Jews, Chapter 3: Concerning The Posterity Of Adam, And The Ten Generations From Him To The Deluge, Section 7:

§7 [1.7]
3. Now Adam, who was the first man, and made out of the earth, (for our discourse must now be about him,) after Abel was slain, and Cain fled away, on account of his murder, was solicitous for posterity, and had a vehement desire of children, he being two hundred and thirty years old; after which time he lived other seven hundred, and then died. He had indeed many other children, but Seth in particular. As for the rest, it would be tedious to name them; I will therefore only endeavor to give an account of those that proceeded from Seth. Now this Seth, when he was brought up, and came to those years in which he could discern what was good, became a virtuous man; and as he was himself of an excellent character, so did he leave children behind him who imitated his virtues. All these proved to be of good dispositions. They also inhabited the same country without dissensions, and in a happy condition, without any misfortunes falling upon them, till they died. They also were the inventors of that peculiar sort of wisdom which is concerned with the heavenly bodies, and their order. And that their inventions might not be lost before they were sufficiently known, upon Adam's prediction that the world was to be destroyed at one time by the force of fire, and at another time by the violence and quantity of water, they made two pillars, the one of brick, the other of stone: they inscribed their discoveries on them both, that in case the pillar of brick should be destroyed by the flood, the pillar of stone might remain, and exhibit those discoveries to mankind; and also inform them that there was another pillar of brick erected by them. Now this remains in the land of Siriad to this day.

This prediction of Adam was implied by Kefa (Peter) in 2 Peter 3:

2 Peter 3:1-14
3 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: (the FLOOD)
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? (the FIRE)
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
KJV

However, God doesn’t need a “CME" to do any of this! And, if He DID use the sun to perform this, it wouldn’t be a CME; it would be a SOLAR FLARE! But, we have this word that supersedes even that:

Deuteronomy 4:20-24
20 But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.
21 Furthermore the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance:
22 But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but ye shall go over, and possess that good land.
23 Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.
24 For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
KJV

Deuteronomy 9:1-4
9 Hear, O Israel: Thou art to pass over Jordan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than thyself, cities great and fenced up to heaven,
2 A people great and tall, the children of the Anakims, whom thou knowest, and of whom thou hast heard say, Who can stand before the children of Anak!
3 Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD hath said unto thee.
4 Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the LORD thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the LORD hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD doth drive them out from before thee.
KJV

Hebrews 12:18-29
18 For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,
19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:
20 (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:
21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)
22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
29 For our God is a consuming fire.
KJV

Why are we looking for some astronomic source of fire when GOD HIMSELF is a CONSUMING FIRE?!

Interesting post, Retrobyter.
But why insist that what God will use is not a CME? How can you be so sure of His plans?
BTW - A CME is a type of solar flare.
Many prophesies say how the Lord 'will rain fiery coals upon the wicked', Psalm 11:6, it all matches with the Sixth Seal; worldwide devastation, in a similar way as the Flood, instigated by God.

The Fiery Blast of the Lord

Ezekiel 22:15-16 I will disperse you Israelites among the nations, scattered over all the earth. I shall sift you to get rid of your defilement. Deut. 29:28, Amos 9:9-10
The exile of Israel and Judah from the Holy Land was done in ancient times. Throughout the ages, righteous people have kept the faith and shone the light of the Gospel around the world and now we look expectantly for the fulfilment of the wonderful promises to all those who love the Lord and keep His commandments. Part of Judah has returned to a part of the Holy Land. They will be judged first and all the Land cleared of ungodly peoples.

Ezekiel 22:17-22 To the Lord, all of the House of Israel are but a debased alloy. So I shall gather you all into the Holy Land, as metal is refined in a crucible. I will fan the fire of My anger and wrath until you are melted. You will know that I the Lord, have poured out My anger upon you. Isaiah 41:1-10
This forthcoming fire judgement will affect the whole world, then as Ezekiel 20:34-38...I shall take you Israelites out of the nations.....gather you and judge you....those who rebel against Me will not enter the Land. Deut. 30:1-10

Ezekiel 22:24 The Lord says to the land of Israel: You have become like a land on which no rain has fallen, on the Day of My wrath. Zephaniah 1:18, Ezekiel 20:47-48
The Holy Land becomes ‘scorched and untrodden’ - Jer. 9:10-11. ...’dry and ruined, for fire has burned the trees and pastures’ - Joel 1:15-20]

Ezekiel 22:25-29 The leaders in the Land are like lions that take what they want and the priests give rulings that violate My Laws, they profane what is sacred. The people do not keep My Sabbaths in truth and God is dishonoured among them. Their prophets and seers speak lies and the common people use extortion and commit robbery, oppressing the poor and the alien, denying them justice.
This is the situation worldwide, but particularly in all the area of the Holy Land. Jeremiah 25:29-30, Isaiah 22:12-14, Ezekiel 7:2-4]

Ezekiel 22:30-31 The Lord searches for anyone righteous who could stand before Him and plead for the people, to avert the destruction of the Land, but no such person can be found. Ezekiel 6:11-12 So the Lord will pour out His wrath upon them and utterly consume them in His blazing anger, thus bringing down upon them the punishment they deserve. Ref: REB, NIV. Some verses abridged.
The great and terrible Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath. This is prophesied over 100 times in the Bible and clearly described as a Coronal Mass Ejection sunstrike. Isaiah 30:26....the sun will shine seven times stronger. All that area of Greater Israel will be cleared and cleansed, after that many prophecies say how the Land will be quickly regenerated and then how the Lord’s people will gather and settle there. Great will be the Day!
