I had always believed that the sons of God were angels that had mingled with the daughters of men, but no longer. Even though I had heard of the real explanation that the sons of God were of the line of Seth mingling with other lines of Adam, I had leaned more towards the angels mingling, because of the giants in the earth, but no longer, for the Lord has shown me my error. The sons of God were indeed of the line of Seth.Genesis 4: 25And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew. 26And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.It was written that way above, because of the line of Seth, men were calling upon the name of the Lord, thus were they called the sons of God. From Genesis 4 to the next chapter, it continues the generations of Adam through Seth in why they were considered the sons of God through Seth as one follows it to Noah. Then in Genesis 6, it explained how the off-shoots not mentioned in Genesis 5 of the line of Seth that followed on down to Noah were the Sons of God that mingled with the daughters of men.Angels cannot intermarry even in their fallen state. Matthew 22: 29Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. 30For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. Mark 12: 24And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? 25For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.John 3: 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. So spirits cannot give birth to flesh nor flesh to spirits. No other spirits can create life in the womb. Only God can create life as in bringing forth man out of the womb just as Jesus was conceived by the Holy Ghost. This is so, for God has been known to close up wombs. So God would have prevented results of such intermingling between fallen angels and daughters of men, but it is written that angels can't marry and thus neither can fallen angels. In Jude, the first estate left simply meant Heaven for the fallen angels. "In like manner", it is considered the same for those that commit fornication and other sexual sins listed as an abomination to the Lord.Jude 1: 5I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. 6And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. 7Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.Do note verse 18 as it also applies to unbelievers since God has created marriage to be honored by all.1 Corinthians 6: 15Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. 16What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 17But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.Thus we go back to the real reason God flooded the earth as to the cause of corruption. Do note how those that were intermingling from the line of Seth with other lines of Adam, it was then man was appointed 120 years, but if you follow Adam to Noah, the years are more than 120 years.Genesis 6: 2That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 3And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. 4There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. 5And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. It is stated by God why He repented in making man. Not because of intermingling, but because of the wickedness of man. Here is evidence of the beginning of violence in the earth as it is written how those that do were even using their imaginations in adding to God's word that was spoken.Genesis 4: 23And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt. 24If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold. Then God made His judgment:Genesis 6: 11The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. Because of the command to load on clean beasts, it is obvious to me that living things took on violence in the earth. Were not animals domesticated by man? Then surely, they were trained to violence, and thereby spreaded violence. Today illegal dog fights are a good example of that.We know this because all animals were vegetarians as was man before the flood.Genesis 1: 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 29And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. Thus after the flood, God has given a different decree:Genesis 9: 1And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. 2And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. 3Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. So I see now that there is no intermarrying between angels nor fallen angels. They can't. God repented of "making" man because all man that comes out of the womb is of the Lord. God "repented", because of the need for judgment on the earth for the corruption and the violence of man.Psalm 127: 3Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. This is how the Nephilium were still around after the Flood when the lineage continued outside from Noah to the line of Abraham where eventually a small shepherd boy by the name of David, took on one of the giants, the Nephilium. This would be result of intermarrying of the line of Shem with other lines with Ham and Japheth. The spreading misconception that the commandment of incest in Leviticus 18 declares that there were other races with Adam and Eve is a fallacy.Genesis 20: 11And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake. 12And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife. Leviticus 18: 9The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover...... 24Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: 25And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. 26Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you: 27(For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled) 28That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you. 29For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people. 30Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God.Thus the command given out was to end the practise of marrying within the family as these were things committed before them as Abraham had committed them but he did not sin, because he and everyone before that time in Leviticus 18 was fulfilling God's command to multiply. It's like this... the Ten Commandments was given when? Why not when Adam and Eve started out? And yet, incest was not given out then, because I know why...God gave the command to multiply as there was only Adam and Eve.One is why Eve was called Eve.Genesis 3: 20And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. And it is written how they addressed God the Creator in all of them in how they all had one father.Malachi 2: 10Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?Look at Genesis 2 below and see how God went from the seventh day and that He rested from ALL His labours. Then take note of verse 4 in how it is written about the generations of man in which God had created. Now don't stop there, because He is recapping the story of the creation of man by going into detail what had happened. Proof? Verse 5 stated that there was no man to till the ground. AND.. it is written about how God dealt with that as there was no man to till the ground in verse 6. Thus from that point on, He went into going over the creation of man in more detail.Genesis 2: 3And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. 4These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, 5And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. 6But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. 7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Man. Not Adam as if implying a royal line seperated from the other races for there were no other races nor man. It is written man. Man became a living soul. I read that as the first man to be created to have a living soul. If there were others, why state it as that? Especially after just stating that there was no man to till the ground?Maybe some believers are having a hard time believing Abraham married his sister, but the scriptures do not lie... AND he did not commit incest, because it was not considered incest when the command was to multiply.Romans 5: 13(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Romans 7: 8But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. 9For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.Anyway, if there were other races beside Adam and Eve, how did they inheritted sin and death? It would only follow Adam's and Eve's line, yes? It is by Adam we all inheritted sin and by Adam we were all "fallen" to die because of sin. Romans 5: 12-21Thus I am corrected of the error that fallen angles intermingled with daughters of man in producing the Nephilium, because they can't.So any extra-biblical evidence of giants and present day oddity? http://s8int.com/giants1.html

Do you not realize on the words with Green, say "In the resurrection." We are not in the resurrection yet. And how can the lineage of Adam (starting Seth) marry the "daughters of men" since they are flesh too and how can they birth giants when they are likely at Adam & Eve's height?Oh yea, you might want to double check on the Word because it isLuke 17:26 - And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.Luke 17:27 - They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.Every person of the Adamite race (except Noah and his wives and his three sons and his son's wives) are dead.Jag

In Jude, the first estate left simply meant Heaven for the fallen angels. "In like manner", it is considered the same for those that commit fornication and other sexual sins listed as an abomination to the Lord.
You're making a serious error here because the verses of Matthew 22, Mark 12 and John 3 all speak about angels in heaven - obviously those loyal to God that have kept their estate. You're making a link that's just not there. If you want to do that, that's your choice but you're applying something that is spoken of to the angels also to the fallen angels. Nothing you quoted from Scripture says anything about physically not being able to for the fallen ones, I submit this as a serious error in your interpretation. That is, of course, putting aside the original Hebrew which confirms the daughters of man are the same as Adam and the sons of God are indeed angels, the fallen ones in this case.

As Denver said you can believe what you will but you are in extreme error and will never fully understand Gods word if you continue down this roadhow to explain these verse's? How is it the human Sons of seth traveled to heaven to with Satan to present themselves to the Lord??Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.Job 2:1 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.

And where do scriptures mention about "fallen angels" that fell on earth anyway? I too agree there is no such thing as fallen angels, I have stated it in another post that sons of God mentioned in Genesis were humans deriving from humans. Period.

Did you read the scriptures I just gave in Job do you read the scriptures in Gen.?? Here let me show you what the hebrew excerts say in the Bible appendix about this subject these are not our words but the Words of the Experts 23. "THE SONS OF GOD" IN GEN. 6:2, 4.It is only by the Divine specific act of creation that any created being can be called "a son of God". For that which is "born of the flesh is flesh". God is spirit, and that which is "born of the Spirit is spirit" (John 3:6). Hence Adam is called a "son of God" in Luke 3:38. Those "in Christ" having "the new nature" which is by the direct creation of God (2Cor. 5:17. Eph. 2:10) can be, and are called "sons of God" (John 1:13. Rom. 8:14, 15. 1John 3:1). (*1) This is why angels are called "sons of God" in every other place where the expression is used in the Old Testament. Job 1:6; 2:1; 38:7. Ps. 29:1; 89:6. Dan. 3:25 (no art.). (*2) We have no authority or right to take the expression in Gen. 6:2, 4 in any other sense. Moreover, in Gen. 6:2 the Sept. renders it "angels". Angels are called "spirits" (Ps. 104:4. Heb. 1:7, 14), for spirits are created by God. That there was a fall of the angels is certain from Jude 6. The nature of their fall is clearly stated in the same verse. They left their own oiketerion. This word occurs only in 2Cor. 5:2 and Jude 6, where it is used of the spiritual (or resurrection) body. The nature of their sin is stated to be "in like manner" to that of the subsequent sins of Sodom and Gomorrha, Jude 7. The time of their fall is given as having taken place "in the days of Noah" (1Pet. 3:20. 2Pet. 2:7), though there may have been a prior fall which caused the end of "the world that then was" (Gen. 1:1, 2. 2Pet. 3:6). For this sin they are "reserved unto judgment", 2Pet. 2:4, and are "in prison", 1Pet. 3:19. Their progeny, called Nephilim (translated "giants"), were monsters of iniquity; and, being superhuman in size and character, had to be destroyed (see Ap. 25). This was the one and only object of the Flood. Only Noah and his family had preserved their pedigree pure from Adam (Gen. 6:9, see note). All the rest had become "corrupt" (shachath) destroyed [as Adamites]. the only remedy was to destroy it (de facto), as it had become destroyed (de jure). (It is the same word in v. 17 as in vv. 11, 12.) See further under Ap. 25 on the Nephilim. This irruption of fallen angels was Satan's first attempt to prevent the coming of the Seed of the woman foretold in gen. 3:15. If this could be accomplished, God's Word would have failed, and his own doom would be averted. As soon as it was made known that the Seed of the woman was to come through ABRAHAM, there must have been another irruption, as recorded in Gen. 6:4, "and also after that" (i.e. after the days of Noah, more than 500 years after the first irruption). The aim of the enemy was to occupy Canaan in advance of Abraham, and so to contest its occupation by his seed. For, when Abraham entered Canaan, we read (Gen. 12:6) "the Canaanite was then (i.e. already) in the land." In the same chapter (Gen. 12:10-20) we see Satan's next attempt to interfere with Abraham's seed, and frustrate the purpose of God that it should be in "Isaac". This attempt was repeated in 20:1-18. This great conflict may be seen throughout the Bible, and it forms a great and important subject of Biblical study. In each case the human instrument had his own personal interest to serve, while Satan had his own great object in view. Hence God had, in each case, to interfere and avert the evil and the danger, of which his servants and people were wholly ignorant. The following assaults of the great Enemy stand out prominently :-- The destruction of the chosen family by famine, Gen. 50:20. The destruction of the male line in Israel, Ex. 1:10, 15, &c. Cp. Ex. 2:5. Heb. 11:23. The destruction of the whole nation in Pharaoh's pursuit, Ex. 14. After David's line was singled out (2Sam. 7), that was the next selected for assault. Satan's first assault was in the union of Jehoram and Athaliah by Jehoshaphat, notwithstanding 2Chron. 17:1. Jehoram killed off all his brothers (2Chron. 21:4). The Arabians slew all his children, except Ahaziah (2Chron. 21:17; 22:1). When Ahaziah died, Athaliah killed "all the seed royal" (2Chron. 22:10). the babe Joash alone was rescued; and, for six years, the faithfulness of Jehovah's word was at stake (2Chron. 23:3). Hezekiah was childless, when a double assault was made by the King of Assyria and the King of Terrors (Isa. 36:1; 38:1). God's faithfulness was appealed to and relied on (Ps. 136). In Captivity, Haman was used to attempt the destruction of the whole nation (Est. 3:6, 12, 13. Cp. 6:1). Joseph's fear was worked on (Matt. 1:18-20). Notwithstanding the fact that he was "a just man", and kept the Law, he did not wish to have Mary stoned to death (Deut. 24:1); hence Joseph determined to divorce her. But God intervened : "Fear not". Herod sought the young Child's life (Matt. 2). At the Temptation, "Cast Thyself down" was Satan's temptation. At Nazareth, again (Luke 4), there was another attempt to cast Him down and destroy Him. The two storms on the Lake were other attempts. At length the cross was reached, and the sepulcher closed; the watch set; and the stone sealed. But "God raised Him from the dead." And now, like another Joash, He is seated and expecting (Heb. 10:12, 13), hidden in the house of God on high; and the members of "the one body" are hidden there "in Him" (Col. 3:1-3), like another Jehoshaba; and going forth to witness of His coming, like another Jehoiada (2Chron. 23:3). The irruption of "the fallen angels" ("sons of God") was the first attempt; and was directed against the whole human race. When Abraham was called, then he and his seed were attacked. When David was enthroned, then the royal line were attacked. And when "the Seed of the woman" Himself came, then the storm burst upon Him. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------(*1) The word "offspring" in Acts 17:28 is quite different. It is genos, which means merely kin or kind, our genus as being originated by God. (*2) In Hos. 1:10, it is not beni-ha-Elohim, as here, but beni-el-chai. Appendix List

25. THE NEPHILIM, OR "GIANTS"Of GEN. 6, &c. The progeny of the fallen angels with the daughters of Adam (see notes on Gen. 6, and Ap. 23) are called in Gen. 6, Ne-phil-im, which means fallen ones (from naphal, to fall). What these beings were can be gathered only from Scripture. They were evidently great in size, as well as great in wickedness. They were superhuman, abnormal beings; and their destruction was necessary for the preservation of the human race, and for the faithfulness of Jehovah's Word (Gen. 3:15). This was why the Flood was brought "upon the world of the ungodly" (2Pet. 2:5) as prophesied by Enoch (Jude 14). But we read of the Nephilim again in Num. 13:33 : "there we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, which come of the Nephilim". How, it may be asked, could this be, if they were all destroyed in the Flood? The answer is contained in Gen. 6:4, where we read : "There were Nephilim in the earth in those days (i.e. in the days of Noah); and also AFTER THAT, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became [the] mighty men (Heb. gibbor, the heroes) which were of old, men of renown" (lit. men of the name, i.e. who got a name and were renowned for their ungodliness). So that "after that", i.e. after the Flood, there was a second irruption of these fallen angels, evidently smaller in number and more limited in area, for they were for the most part confined to Canaan, and were in fact known as "the nations of Canaan". It was for the destruction of these, that the sword of Israel was necessary, as the Flood had been before. As to the date of this second irruption, it was evidently soon after it became known that the seed was to come through Abraham; for, when he came out from Haran (Gen. 12:6) and entered Canaan, the significant fact is stated : "The Canaanite was then (i.e. already) in the land." And in Gen. 14:5 they were already known as "Raphain" and Emim", and had established themselves at Asteroth Karnaim and Shaven Kiriathaim. In ch. 15:18-21 they are enumerated and named among Canaanite Peoples : "Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims, and the Amorites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites" (Gen. 15:19-21; cp. Ex. 3:8, 17; 23:23. Deut. 7; 20:17. Josh. 12:8). These were to be cut off, and driven out, and utterly destroyed (Deut. 20:17. Josh. 3:10). But Israel failed in this (Josh. 13:13; 15:63; 16:10; 17:18. Judg. 1:19, 20, 28, 29, 30-36; 2:1-5; 3:1-7); and we known not how many got away to other countries to escape the general destruction. If this were recognized it would go far to solve many problems connected with Anthropology. As to their other names, they were called Anakim, from on Anak which came of the Nephilim (Num. 13:23), and Rephaim, from Rapha, another notable one among them. From Deut. 2:10, they were known by some as Emim, and Horim, and Zamzummim (v. 20, 21) and Avim, &c. As Rephaim they were well known, and are often mentioned : but, unfortunately, instead of this, their proper name, being preserved, it is variously translated as "dead", "deceased", or "giants". These Rephaim are to have no resurrection. This fact is stated in Isa. 26:14 (where the proper name is rendered "deceased," and v. 19, where it is rendered "the dead"). It is rendered "dead" seven times (Job 26:5. Ps. 88:10. Prov. 2:18; 9:18; 21:16. Isa. 14:8; 26:19). It is rendered "deceased" in Isa. 26:14. It is retained as a proper name "Rephaim" ten times (two being in the margin). Gen. 14:5; 15:20. Josh. 12:15 (marg.). 2Sam. 5:18, 22; 23:13.& b31 nbsp; 1Chron. 11:15; 14:9; 20:4 (marg.). Isa. 17:5. In all other places it is rendered "giants", Gen. 6:4; Num. 23:33, where it is Nephilim; and Job 16:14, where it is gibbor (Ap. 14. iv). By reading all these passages the Bible student may know all that can be known about these beings. It is certain that the second irruption took place before Gen. 14, for there the Rephaim were mixed up with the five nations or peoples, which included Sodom and Gomorrha, and were defeated by the four kings under Chedorlaomer. Their principal locality was evidently "Ashtaroth Karnaim"; while the Emim were in the plain of Kiriathaim (Gen. 14:5). Anak was a noted descendant of the Nephilim; and Rapha was another, giving their names respectively to different clans. Anak's father was Arba, the original builder of Hebron (Gen. 35:27. Josh. 15:13; 21:11); and this Palestine branch of the Anakim was not called Arbahim after him, but Anakim after Anak. They were great, mighty, and tall (Deut. 2:10, 11, 21, 22, 23; 9:2), evidently inspiring the ten spies with great fear (Num. 13:33). Og king of Bashan is described in Deut. 3:11. Their strength is seen in "the giant cities of Bashan" to-day; and we know not how far they may have been utilized by Egypt in the construction of buildings, which is still an unsolved problem. Arba was rebuilt by the Khabiri or confederates seven years before Zoan was built by the Egyptian Pharoahs of the nineteenth dynasty. See note on Num. 13:22. If these Nephilim, and their branch of Rephaim, were associated with Egypt, we have an explanation of the problem which has for ages perplexed all engineers, as to how those huge stones and monuments were brought together. Why not in Egypt as well as in "the giant cities of Bashan" which exist, as such, to this day? Moreover, we have in these mighty men, the "men of renown," the explanation of the origin of the Greek mythology. That mythology was no mere invention of the human brain, but it grew out of the traditions, and memories, and legends of the doings of that mighty race of beings; and was gradually evolved out of the "heroes" of Gen. 6:4. The fact that they were supernatural in their origin formed an easy step to their being regarded as the demi-gods of the Greeks. Thus the Babylonian "Creation Tablets", the Egyptian "Book of the dead", the Greek mythology, and heathen Cosmogonies, which by some are set on an equality with Scripture, or by others adduced in support of it, are all the corruption and perversion of primitive truths, distorted in proportion as their origin was forgotten, and their memories faded away.

And where do scriptures mention about "fallen angels" that fell on earth anyway? I too agree there is no such thing as fallen angels, I have stated it in another post that sons of God mentioned in Genesis were humans deriving from humans. Period.
How do you explain Satan then? since he is called an angel.(kriss;24776)
I agree with scriptures that God gave us, Denver and Kriss. Not a good path to take Pariah. You can believe whatever you want...but remember we only got one chance in life.Jag

Here are other sourses and explanationsNephilimby Judd H. BurtonGenesis 6:4 states "The Nephilim were on the earth in those days --and also afterwards-- when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown." The Nephilim were a race of giants that were produced by the sexual union of the sons of God (presumably fallen angels) and the daughters of men. Translated from the Hebrew texts, "Nephilim" means "fallen ones." They were renowned for their strength, prowess, and a great capacity for sinfulness. The origination of the Nephilim begins with a story of the fallen angels. Shemhazai, an angel of high rank, led a sect of angels in a descent to earth to instruct humans in righteousness. The tutelage went on for a few centuries, but soon the angels pined for the human females. After lusting, the fallen angels instructed the women in magic and conjuring, mated with them, and produced hybrid offspring: the Nephilim. The Nephilim were gigantic in stature. Their strength was prodigious and their appetites immense. Upon devouring all of humankind's resources, they began to consume humans themselves. The Nephilim attacked and oppressed humans and were the cause of massive destruction on the earth. Two texts of central import to the story of the Nephilim, the Bible and the Dead Sea Scrolls, mention several names for the Nephilim. The diverse kinds of these giants are cited in several passages. They are variously referred to as Emim, or "Terrors" (Gen. 14:5; Deut. 2:10), Rephaim, or "Weakeners" or "Dead Ones" (2 Sam. 23:13; 1 Chron. 11:15), Gibborim, or "Giant Heroes" (Job 16:4), Zamzummim, or "Achievers" (Deut. 2:10), Anakim, or "Long-necked" (Deut. 2:10; Josh. 11:22, 14:15), and Awwim or "Devastators" and "Serpents." Other giants are mentioned in these texts as well, such as Goliath (2 Sam. 21:19), a giant with twelve fingers and twelve toes who is mentioned as one of the Rephaim (2 Sam. 21:20), and a tall Egyptian (1 Chron. 11:23). The passage of Numbers 13:26-33 recounts the Nephilim of Canaan that Joshua and the other Hebrew spies saw. Furthermore, according to Judaic lore, a certain one of the Nephilim, Arba, built a city, Kiriath Arba, which was named for its builder and is now known as Hebron. The wickedness of the Nephilim carried with it a heavy toll. Genesis 6:5 alludes to the corruption that the Nephilim had caused amongst humans and themselves: "The Lord saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become..." Their evil rebellion had incurred both the wrath and grief of God. God instructed the angel Gabriel to ignite a civil war among the Nephilim. He also chose Enoch, a righteous man, to inform the fallen angels of the judgment pronounced on them and their children. God did not allow the fallen angels any peace, for they could not lift their eyes to heaven and were later to be chained. The end of the Nephilim came about in the war incited by Gabriel, in which the giants eventually annihilated each other. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------The Sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose." - Genesis 6:2"Some commentators believe that the expression 'sons of God' refers to the 'godly line' of Seth, and 'daughters of men' to women from the line of Cain." - Commentary on the Living Bible "The Book of Giants was another literary work concerned with Enoch, widely read (after translation into the appropriate languages) in the Roman empire....The 'giants' were believed to be the offspring of fallen angels (the Nephilim; also called Watchers) and human women." - Robert Eisman and Michael Wise, The Dead Sea Scrolls Uncovered In The Book of Giants (i.e., 4Q531, 6Q8 Frag. 2 and 4Q530 Col. 2), "the name of one of the giants is Gilgamesh, the Babylonian hero and subject of a great epic written in the third millennium B.C.E." - Michael Wise, Martin Abegg, Jr., and Edward Cook, The Dead Sea Scrolls: A New Translation (1996) p. 247 The root of Nephilim is nephel which means: "untimely birth, abortion, miscarriage". The Biblical tradition says the Nephilim were on the earth before the Flood and afterwards, but they appear to be missing during the Flood. "The Nefilim were upon the Earth in those days and thereafter too. Those sons of the gods who cohabited with the daughters of the Adam, and they bore children into them. They were the Mighty Ones of Eternity, the People of the Shem." - Genesis 6:4 "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they; bare children unto them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown." - Genesis 6:4 (King Jame's version)"Megalithic monuments, found by the Hebrews on their arrival in Canaan, will have encouraged legends about giants; as in Greece, where the monstrous man-eating Cyclopes were said by story-tellers ignorant of ramps, levers and other Mycenaean engineering devices, to have lifted single- handed the huge blocks of stone that form the walls of Tiryns, Mycenae and other ancient cities." - Robert Graves and Raphael Patai, Hebrew Myths: The Book of Genesis On a parchment fragment 4Q201(En ara) copied ca. 200-150 B.C.E. found at Qumrum: 13. [They (the leaders) and all ... of them took for themselves] wives from all that they chose and [they began to cohabit with them and to defile themselves with them]; and to teach them sorcery and [spells and the cutting of roots; and to acquaint them with herbs.] And they become pregnant by them and bo[re (great) giants three thousand cubits high ...] - Book of Enoch (from Translation by J. C. Greenfield"Later Jewish tradition has it that their seduction was at least partly their own fault since they had taught the girls the art of cosmetics, and so had begun the awful progress of mankind to degeneracy and sexual abandon. More important, 'they taught them charms and enchantments, the cutting of roots, and make them acquainted with plants..." (Enoch 7:1ff)." - John M. Allegro, The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross "The Hebrew word for giants (nephilum) literally means the fallen-down-ones because these tall celestial beings fell from the sky. Their half-breed progeny and their descendants are often mentioned in the early books of the Old Testament until the last of them were finally killed off. They were known as the Rephaim [Hebrew for 'phantoms'], Emim, Anakim, Horim, Avim, and Zamzummim. Some scholars speculate that this tradition of giants born from the union of gods and humans formed the basis for the demigod of Greek mythology." - Raymond E. Fowler, The Watchers "Those giants...are termed n'philim (lit. 'those who have fallen' or 'perished'). A similar tradition mentions such a race of primordial giants in the Rephaim." - John Gray, Near Eastern Mythology "The Nefilim ('Fallen Ones') bore many other tribal names, such as Emim ('Terrors'), Repha'im ('Weakeners'), Gibborim ('Giant Heroes'), Zamzummim ('Achievers'), Anakim ('Long-necked' or 'Wearers of Necklaces'), Awwim ('Devastators' or 'Serpents'). One of the Nefilim named Arba is said to have built the city of Hebron, called 'Kiriath-Arba' after him, and become the father of Anak whose three sons, Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai, were later expelled by Joshua's comrade Caleb. Since, however, arba means 'four' in Hebrew, Kiriath-Arba may have originally have meant 'City of Four,' a reference to its four quarters mythically connected with the Anakite clans: Anak himself and his 'sons' Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai." - Robert Graves and Raphael Patai, Hebrew Myths: The Book of Genesis "And there we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, which come of the Nephilim: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight." - Numbers 13:33 "The Emim - a large and numerous people, as tall as the Anakim - had formerly inhabited it [Moab]. Like the Anakim, they are usually reckoned as Rephaim, though the Moabites call them Emim.""Now only King Og of Bashan was left of the remnant of the Rephaim. In fact his bed, an iron bed, can still be seen in Rabbah of the Ammonites. By the common cubit [63.5 cm/25 in] it is nine cubits [5.7 m/18.75 ft] long and four cubits wide." - Deuteronomy 2:11, 3:11"Our skills and behavior are finely attuned to our size. We could not be twice as tall as we are, for the kinetic energy of a fall would then be 16 to 32 times as great, and our sheer weight (increased eightfold) would be more than our legs could support. Human giants of eight to nine feet have either died young or been crippled early by failure of joints and bones. At half our size, we could not wield a club with sufficient force to hunt large animals (for kinetic energy would decrease 16 to 32-fold); we could not impart sufficient momentum to spears and arrows; we could not cut or split wood with primitive tools or mine minerals with picks and chisels. Since these all were essential activities in our historical development, we must conclude that the path of our evolution could only have been followed by a creature very close to our size. I do not argue that we inhabit the best of all possible worlds, only that our size has limited our activities and, to a great extent, shaped our evolution." - Stephen Jay Gould, "Sizing Up Human Intelligence," Physical Anthropology 96/97, pp.150-51 "The tradition in Genesis 6.4 may reflect the Canaanite myth of the birth of minor gods from the union of El and human women. The conception of the Rephaim as supermen may reflect the Canaanite tradition of defunct kings as rp'um, or Dispensers of fertility. The identity in tradition of 'the fallen ones' of Genesis 6:4 and the Rephaim is supported by the nature of the latter in Proverbs 2:18; Job 26:5 and Phoenician funerary inscriptions." - John Gray, Near Eastern Mythology "For her house leads down to death and her paths to the spirits of the dead." - Proverbs 2:18 "The dead are in deep anguish, those beneath the waters and all that live in them." - Job 26:5http://www.nwcreation.net/nephilim.htmlhttp://bibleprobe.com/nephilim.htm

Mischievous Angels or Sethites? by Chuck MisslerWhy did God send the judgment of the Flood in the days of Noah? Far more than simply a historical issue, the unique events leading to the Flood are a prerequisite to understanding the prophetic implications of our Lord's predictions regarding His Second Coming. (1)The strange events recorded in Genesis 6 were understood by the ancient rabbinical sources, as well as the Septuagint translators, as referring to fallen angels procreating weird hybrid offspring with human women--known as the "Nephilim." So it was also understood by the early church fathers. These bizarre events are also echoed in the legends and myths of every ancient culture upon the earth: the ancient Greeks, the Egyptians, the Hindus, the South Sea Islanders, the American Indians, and virtually all the others. However, many students of the Bible have been taught that this passage in Genesis 6 actually refers to a failure to keep the "faithful" lines of Seth separate from the "worldly" line of Cain. The idea has been advanced that after Cain killed Abel, the line of Seth remained separate and faithful, but the line of Cain turned ungodly and rebellious. The "Sons of God" are deemed to refer to leadership in the line of Seth; the "daughters of men" is deemed restricted to the line of Cain. The resulting marriages ostensibly blurred an inferred separation between them. (Why the resulting offspring are called the "Nephilim" remains without any clear explanation.)Since Jesus prophesied, "As the days of Noah were, so shall the coming of the Son of Man be," (2) it becomes essential to understand what these days included.Origin of the Sethite ViewIt was in the 5th century AD that the "angel" interpretation of Genesis 6 was increasingly viewed as an embarrassment when attacked by critics. (Furthermore, the worship of angels had begun within the church. Also, celibacy had also become an institution of the church. The "angel" view of Genesis 6 was feared as impacting these views.)Celsus and Julian the Apostate used the traditional "angel" belief to attack Christianity. Julius Africanus resorted to the Sethite interpretation as a more comfortable ground. Cyril of Alexandria also repudiated the orthodox "angel" position with the "line of Seth" interpretation. Augustine also embraced the Sethite theory and thus it prevailed into the Middle Ages. It is still widely taught today among many churches who find the literal "angel" view a bit disturbing. There are many outstanding Bible teachers who still defend this view.Problems with the Sethite ViewBeyond obscuring a full understanding of the events in the early chapters of Genesis, this view also clouds any opportunity to apprehend the prophetic implications of the Scriptural allusions to the "Days of Noah." (3) Some of the many problems with the "Sethite View" include the following:1. The Text ItselfSubstantial liberties must be taken with the literal text to propose the "Sethite" view. (In data analysis, it is often said that "if you torture the data severely enough it will confess to anything.")The term translated "the Sons of God" is, in the Hebrew, B'nai HaElohim, "Sons of Elohim," which is a term consistently used in the Old Testament for angels, (4) and it is never used of believers in the Old Testament. It was so understood by the ancient rabbinical sources, by the Septuagint translators in the 3rd century before Christ, and by the early church fathers. Attempts to apply this term to "godly leadership" is without Scriptural foundation. (5)The "Sons of Seth and daughters of Cain" interpretation strains and obscures the intended grammatical antithesis between the Sons of God and the daughters of Adam. Attempting to impute any other view to the text flies in the face of the earlier centuries of understanding of the Hebrew text among both rabbinical and early church scholarship. The lexicographical antithesis clearly intends to establish a contrast between the "angels" and the women of the Earth. If the text was intended to contrast the "sons of Seth and the daughters of Cain," why didn't it say so? Seth was not God, and Cain was not Adam. (Why not the "sons of Cain" and the "daughters of Seth" There is no basis for restricting the text to either subset of Adam's descendants. Further, there exists no mention of daughters of Elohim.)And how does the "Sethite" interpretation contribute to the ostensible cause for the Flood, which is the primary thrust of the text? The entire view is contrived on a series of assumptions without Scriptural support. The Biblical term "Sons of Elohim" (that is, of the Creator Himself), is confined to the direct creation by the divine hand and not to those born to those of their own order. (6) In Luke's genealogy of Jesus, only Adam is called a "son of God." (7) The entire Biblical drama deals with the tragedy that humankind is a fallen race, with Adam's initial immortality forfeited. Christ uniquely gives them that receive Him the power to become the sons of God.(8) Being born again of the Spirit of God, as an entirely new creation, (9) at their resurrection they alone will be clothed with a building of God (10) and in every respect equal to the angels. (11) The very term oiketerion, alluding to the heavenly body with which the believer longs to be clothed, is the precise term used for the heavenly bodies from which the fallen angels had disrobed. (12)The attempt to apply the term "Sons of Elohim" in a broader sense has no textual basis and obscures the precision of its denotative usage. This proves to be an assumption which is antagonistic to the uniform Biblical usage of the term.2. The Daughters of CainThe "Daughters of Adam" also does not denote a restriction to the descendants of Cain, but rather the whole human race is clearly intended. These daughters were the daughters born to the men with which this very sentence opens:And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.Genesis 6:1,2It is clear from the text that these daughters were not limited a particular family or subset, but were, indeed, from (all) the Benoth Adam, "the daughters of Adam." There is no apparent exclusion of the daughters of Seth. Or were they so without charms in contrast with the daughters of Cain? All of Adam's female descendants seem to have been involved. (And what about the "sons of Adam?" Where do they, using this contrived dichotomy, fit in?)Furthermore, the line of Cain was not necessarily known for its ungodliness. From a study of the naming of Cain's children, many of which included the name of God, (13) it is not clear that they were all necessarily unfaithful.3. The Inferred Lines of SeparationThe concept of separate "lines" itself is suspect and contrary to Scripture. (14) National and racial distinctions were plainly the result of the subsequent intervention of God in Genesis 11, five chapters later. There is no intimation that the lines of Seth and Cain kept themselves separate nor were even instructed to. The injunction to remain separate was given much later. (15) Genesis 6:12 confirms that all flesh had corrupted His way upon the earth.4. The Inferred Godliness of SethThere is no evidence, stated or implied, that the line of Seth was godly. Only one person was translated from the judgment to come (Enoch) and only eight were given the protection of the ark. No one beyond Noah's immediate family was accounted worthy to be saved. In fact, the text implies that these were distinct from all others. (There is no evidence that the wives of Noah's sons were from the line of Seth.) Even so, Gaebelein observes, "The designation 'Sons of God' is never applied in the Old Testament to believers," whose sonship is "distinctly a New Testament revelation." (16)The "Sons of Elohim" saw the daughters of men that they were fair and took them wives of all that they chose. It appears that the women had little say in the matter. The domineering implication hardly suggests a godly approach to the union. Even the mention that they saw that they were attractive seems out of place if only normal biology was involved. (And were the daughters of Seth so unattractive?)It should also be pointed out that the son of Seth himself was Enosh, and there is textual evidence that, rather than a reputation for piety, he seems to have initiated the profaning of the name of God. (17)If the lines of Seth were so faithful, why did they perish in the flood?5. The Unnatural OffspringThe most fatal flaw in the specious "Sethite" view is the emergence of the Nephilim as a result of the unions. (Bending the translation to "giants" does not resolve the difficulties.) It is the offspring of these peculiar unions in Genesis 6:4 which seems to be cited as a primary cause for the Flood.Procreation by parents of differing religious views do not produce unnatural offspring. Believers marrying unbelievers may produce "monsters," but hardly superhuman, or unnatural, children! It was this unnatural procreation and the resulting abnormal creatures that were designated as a principal reason for the judgment of the Flood. The very absence of any such adulteration of the human genealogy in Noah's case is also documented in Genesis 6:9: Noah's family tree was distinctively unblemished. The term used, tamiym, is used for physical blemishes. (18)Why were the offspring uniquely designated "mighty" and "men of reknown?" This description characterizing the children is not accounted for if the fathers were merely men, even if godly. A further difficulty seems to be that the offspring were only men; no "women of reknown" are mentioned. (Was there a chromosome deficiency among the Sethites? Were there only "Y" chromosomes available in this line?) (19)6. New Testament Confirmations"In the mouths of two or three witnesses every word shall be established." (20) In Biblical matters, it is essential to always compare Scripture with Scripture. The New Testament confirmations in Jude and 2 Peter are impossible to ignore. (21)For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell [Tartarus], and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; (2 Peter 2:4-5)Peter's comments even establishes the time of the fall of these angels to the days of the Flood of Noah.Even Peter's vocabulary is provocative. Peter uses the term Tartarus, here translated "hell." This is the only place that this Greek term appears in the Bible. Tartarus is a Greek term for "dark abode of woe"; "the pit of darkness in the unseen world." As used in Homer's Iliad, it is "...as far beneath hades as the earth is below heaven." (22) In Greek mythology, some of the demigods, Chronos and the rebel Titans, were said to have rebelled against their father, Uranus, and after a prolonged contest they were defeated by Zeus and were condemned into Tartarus. The Epistle of Jude23 also alludes to the strange episodes when these "alien" creatures intruded themselves into the human reproductive process:And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 6,7)The allusions to "going after strange flesh," keeping "not their first estate," having "left their own habitation," and "giving themselves over to fornication," seem to clearly fit the alien intrusions of Genesis 6. (The term for habitation, oiketherion, refers to their heavenly bodies from which they had disrobed. [24] )These allusions from the New Testament would seem to be fatal to the "Sethite" alternative in interpreting Genesis 6. If the intercourse between the "sons of God" and the "daughters of men" were merely marriage between Sethites and Cainites, it seems impossible to explain these passages, and the reason why some fallen angels are imprisoned and others are free to roam the heavenlies.7. Post-Flood ImplicationsThe strange offspring also continued after the flood: "There were Nephilim in the earth in those days, and also after that..." (25) The "Sethite" view fails to meaningfully address the prevailing conditions "also after that." It offers no insight into the presence of the subsequent "giants" in the land of Canaan. One of the disturbing aspects of the Old Testament record was God's instructions, upon entering the land of Canaan, to wipe out every man, woman, and child of certain tribes inhabiting the land. This is difficult to justify without the insight of a "gene pool problem" from the remaining Nephilim, Rephaim, et al., which seems to illuminate the difficulty.8. Prophetic ImplicationsAnother reason that an understanding of Genesis 6 is so essential is that it also is a prerequisite to understanding (and anticipating) Satan's devices (26) and, in particular, the specific delusions to come upon the whole earth as a major feature of end-time prophecy. In SummaryIf one takes an integrated view of the Scripture, then everything in it should "tie together." It is the author's view that the "Angel View," however disturbing, is the clear, direct presentation of the Biblical text, corroborated by multiple New Testament references and was so understood by both early Jewish and Christian scholarship; the "Sethite View" is a contrivance of convenience from a network of unjustified assumptions antagonistic to the remainder of the Biblical record. It should also be pointed out that most conservative Bible scholars accept the "angel" view. (28)Among those supporting the "angel" view are: G. H. Pember, M. R. DeHaan, C. H. McIntosh, F. Delitzsch, A. C. Gaebelein, A. W. Pink, Donald Grey Barnhouse, Henry Morris, Merril F. Unger, Arnold Fruchtenbaum, Hal Lindsey, and Chuck Smith, being among the best known. For those who take the Bible seriously, the arguments supporting the "Angel View" appear compelling. For those who indulge in a willingness to take liberties with the straightforward presentation of the text, no defense can prove final. (And greater dangers than the implications attending these issues await them!)For further exploration of this critical topic, see the following:George Hawkins Pember, Earth's Earliest Ages, first published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1875, and presently available by Kregel Publications, Grand Rapids MI, 1975.John Fleming, The Fallen Angels and the Heroes of Mythology, Hodges, Foster, and Figgis, Dublin, 1879.Henry Morris, The Genesis Record, Baker Book House, Grand Rapids MI, 1976.Merrill F. All I can say from here is if the Experts and the Words of God to not allow you see Gods truth then God has not given you the eyes to see this For reasons Only he knows I do not mean this as an insult but God does not allow some to see things untill they are ready and there may be other things one has to learn first. Put it on the shelf of your mind and move on

What, precisely, makes you "experts" as you say? How is it that your, and only your, interpretation of scripture is the correct one? Many of us have pointed out the literal, and quite likely most correct, intrepretation that can be made. Maybe its just me but I see a pattern here where any time anyone questions you or has a different point of view than you you say that they're wrong and throw a bunch of scripture at them along with what you believe them to say, and then declare yourself to be right.I'm by no means a scholar, all I have is the common sense and logic that the Lord God blessed me with and it tells me that something isn't right in what you are saying.

Jkdr25If you read I didnt say we were the experts I posted articles from several differnt sources including 100 year old bible appendix I might ask you where you get off with your attitude this is our site and our beliefs if you dont agree you are free to go any site you like Seems no matter what we post you have a problem with it So the question begs to be asked what right to you claim that you are right and we can not post our views on our site without your approvalyou got that right you are by no means a scholar in fact I would say you have only surface knowlege yet you continue to act as if you know it all you are a literal text reader well guess what God dosent just teach that way its why he calls Angels Stars, Candlesticks churchs, Waters means people all explanations that God word gives itself because it interptets itself it is why Christ talks in parables so that the surface reader doesnt fully comprehend untill he gains futher knowledge.you also obviously have no knowledge of Hebrew and this may come as a shock to you but the Bible wasnt written in English in fact did you know there are 19 different words hebrew words used for the word "mark" and each one means somthing different in Hebrew yet they are all translated as the same word into English. No I didnt think so This is a BILBE STUDY SITE not a your religious belief site we study scripture we dont just read the literal texts cause its easy we study scripture in depth that is obviously over your head sense you dont understand any of itWe quote from scripture to make a point because that is Gods Word on it you do nothing but give opinions of your own and swear they are right and Gods word is wrong. Now if you dont want to hear the Word thats your choice but get off your high horse and stop claiming your opion is knowledge we follow the Word of God not the Word of JKdr25

Hi Jag!
Do you not realize on the words with Green, say "In the resurrection." We are not in the resurrection yet.
The point is.... if angels cannot marry, neither can fallen angel. Doesn't matter if we are not in the resurrection yet, fallen angles cannot mate with us.
And how can the lineage of Adam (starting Seth) marry the "daughters of men" since they are flesh too and how can they birth giants when they are likely at Adam & Eve's height?
Who is to say Adam and Eve were not the tallest humans there were? If they were made perfect, it would stand to reason that since the fall, everything would be less in varying degree branching out from them as result of sin, and certain traits cropping up again. At least one can see that in tracing genetic traits in the family tree even now.

Hi Denver!I am surprised that you haven't chosen the nickname of Aslan to match your avatar!

You always read noble when you post. Maybe it is just my imagination spurred on by the avatar. Here I am digressing again....Anyway, thanks for sharing what you believed to be an error on my part, but I do not believe it is. And by the same token in which you are stating, are you not doing the same thing in assuming that fallen angels can? It is more of a stretch to believe that they can when they couldn't in the first place when they were angels. They left their first estate as it is written... they left their habitation... the Heaven. Doesn't mean that since they left Heaven and being in a fallen state, they can mix with humans.Remember God's decree for the animals? They can only produce after their kind. So it is with man. There is alot more said against fallen angels intermingling than for it as God has said plainly and set commands in place to make it so.

Hi kriss,
How is it the human Sons of seth traveled to heaven to with Satan to present themselves to the Lord??Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.Job 2:1 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
I read that as I read this below.Genesis 4: 3And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. 4And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. It did not say that the sons of God were in Heaven. If you are assuming that because of these verses...Job 1: 7And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it... 12And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD. and Job 2: 2And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it....7So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown. All that is written is that Satan went from the Presence of the Lord.. not from Heaven. The sons of God presented themselves to the Lord as Cain and Abel made their offerings to the Lord when He came. Just so you understand how I am reading this.

that is not what it says Pariah if you read more in Job you will see Satan was an angel free to travel to and fro upon the earth Why would Seth keep company with Satan? As I said you will never be able to make sense out of all the Word if you dont get these things all you will do is find confusion and contradictions you can not explain And God is not the author of Confusion and there are no contradictions in his Word only mens misunderstandings of what is said. I am sorry you feel that way Pariah because as you can see we do not agree but you are free to believe what you like I have provided information here and links I hope you will continue to study this matter on your own. I appreciate your attitude in consideringthings you have not learned before and may God guide and Bless you in your futher studies.

Hi Jonous!
And where do scriptures mention about "fallen angels" that fell on earth anyway? I too agree there is no such thing as fallen angels, I have stated it in another post that sons of God mentioned in Genesis were humans deriving from humans. Period.
Not so much as on, but in.Job 1: 7And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. Job 2: 2And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. I did point out by the grace of God, that neither one of those chapters mention Heaven, but just the Presence of the Lord. I read that the same as when the Lord visited Cain and Abel when they made their offerings. They didn't go to Heaven either when they made their offerings so why does it mean that the sons of God did? Probably because of the verses involving Satan. One would have to wonder why the "angels" would need to present themselves. In the conversation about the sons of God, they mention Job; not angels. Another thing I just realized now.. Satan did not mention Heaven as part of his roamings. Its pretty clear that the sons of God were not in Heaven when they were presenting themselves to the Lord. The Lord came to them as He did to Cain and Abel.
