It's not a Wrath verse.
It's not talking about God's Wrath or the first Trumpet.
It's not even talking about the sun burning the earth.

Now if you want to follow a writer of Bible commentaries who thinks he is a messenger from God, you do so at your own peril.

Likewise, Proverbs 23 is about showing the difference between worldly acquisition, and acquiring wisdom, discernment, and understanding. Anyone who then teaches you idiotic word substitution and leads you to thinking you can buy the Holy Spirit - all so he can interpret a parable in the queer manner he'd like to: is also suspect and not to be followed.

Both of these individuals have one thing in common: to destroy some school of theology or eschatology to which they don't agree.
To set out to destroy a manner of thinking is to share the Scripture with impure motives.

Now I love a debate, and I'll gladly engage in back and forth argument. But you can't fix stupid. I cannot debate foolish people who have an agenda and who flagrantly disregard the words Scripture has written. If they are incapable of rendering interpretation and applicability in small things, how can they be relied to convey great things? Where in the Bible does it explicitly state that Christians will escape the "Great Tribulation" that Jesus clearly referred to as the beginning of the 'beasts' reign of terror?

Conventional teaching is that the sun and stars obtain their energy by nuclear reaction, that is: atoms splitting to become a less complex elements, thereby releasing energy. However there are several things about that theory that cannot be explained, such as: how can this continuing reaction be controlled, so as not to totally explode and disintegrate? Why isn’t the sun just a dead ball of helium by now, or at least showing signs of degeneration? Why do the stars have coronas – something not associated with nuclear explosions?
The fact is that the stars consist of plasma, at least on their surface, which is a kind of fourth state of matter. On earth we are familiar with solid, liquid and gaseous forms of matter. Our sun is at the centre of a heliosphere that reaches out way beyond Pluto and earth is an integral part of the system, with its own magnetic field. Our magnetic field, the Van Allen belt, protects us from most CMEs; just producing auroras and some radio interference. However, we have had the bad news that lately, there has been substantial reduction to; and even holes forming, in our magnetic shield.
The ancient prophet states in Isaiah 30:26-28: that on the Day that the Lord takes action in His creation, to ‘sieve the nations for destruction…the sun will shine with seven times its normal brightness, like seven days in one’. The Lord was ministering to me this morning about these things while I was having breakfast and while I was shopping. Thanks for the reference, but I've always had an interest in amateur astronomy and physics, and have been considering things like Unified field theory, and electromagnetic phenomena all my life (my degree is in biological sciences, but I've been an electronic/radio technician since 1982.)
Back when I was still young, Voyager was the first satellite to make close fly-bys of Jupiter and its moons. We collected a ton of data from its sensors. The major finds were published in magazines like Scientific American and National Geographic, and these included the fact that one of Jupiter's moons demonstrated intense galvanic/volcanic activity on its surface because an intense current was detected running through it from the poles of Jupiter, following the magnetic lines of force. Electromagnetic force tends to guide current through the poles of planets with strong magnetic fields and causes, among other things, volcanism. Pockets of magma can develop convective currents driven by the coreolis effect into what resembles a magnetic storm. Geologists have found changes in the magnetic domains of core samples which they believe indicate reversals of the earth's magnetic poles, however, if these core samples are from igneous rock, you would anticipate the rock to have solidified with magnetic domains spiraling in all directions, due to the effect just described (local changes in magnetic north, not pole reversals. The poles are the result of the earths rotation and the summation of the magnetic fields generated along the axis of rotation).
What happens with Jupiter and its moons happens also with the sun and its planets, the most effected being those with the strongest magnetic fields of their own. A massive coronal ejection will be disastrous for more reasons than one. Scripture tells us that the earth is going to bring forth fire and pitch (much like the wells of the deep brought up water in the days of Noah). The suddenly increased flow of current through our poles will cause massive movements of magma, massive movements of the earth's crust, and when its all over there will be no more oceans and men will be rare indeed. Christ will return with His saints in the establishment of His millennial kingdom, but the face of the globe will be entirely different from what it is now and the men that come through the fire will have a harsher environment to deal with, but the desert places will blossom and our Lord will give rains to the obedient and withhold them from the rebellious.
I just wrote some of this on another posting, but I'll repeat myself here, even though its posted elsewhere. The safest place for people to be during the judgment, are those places that God has already judged by fire and as an example to His church, the plains of Sodom and Gomorrah, but these are by no means the only places where the earth was judged by fire because of the sin of men. While judgment will affect the entire earth, there are refuges around the globe where things are rather harsh now, but will remain to some extent untouched by the judgment. I would suggest that these places are where God will preserve a remnant from the nations to whom He has promised a restoration, as well as other places like Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Dresden, etc.
Jesus gave some signs of His return to His disciples with regard to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the Lord has given me a simple test from physics to determine if a place is in imminent danger of volcanic eruption. Carry a compass and if you see the needle turning in circles you can be reasonably sure that there is a magnetically driven convection current of magma headed in your direction.

Hi Marcus, I don't agree with everything Keras has said, but it isn't unreasonable to assume that God will judge the earth (physically) through physical law and I think that his understanding of the judgment has some merit. The reason that I think this is that within the last few weeks the Lord has been giving me answers to matters, both physical and spiritual, that I've pondered over for most of my life and some of these have to do with solar activity, tectonic activity, and the relationship between the two. Did you know that the great spot on Jupiter has started to visibly change? God knew that there would be signs in the heavens that men would be able to detect with technology in our times, and some of these are already troubling to scientists. How will it be that the unbelieving in the world will know to take refuge in the mountains and recesses of the earth from the wrath of the lamb? They don't believe scripture, but they certainly believe science. I'm not arguing for a different interpretation of the verse that you quote above, but consider what scripture does say about the latter time and consider what ways the Lord may accomplish this through what we commonly call "acts of God." These events Keras is pointing to, are a final judgment against all flesh and a final purification of the earth commensurate with the beginning of the millennial kingdom and the return of our Savior, and all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Amen.
I suggest that you find a way to make peace with those you disagree with. Being right isn't everything, being found in His righteousness is. God bless your efforts in righteousness (those are the only ones that He will bless) and learn patience for those who disagree with you (its a tough lesson, but I'm sure that you're able.) Take care of yourself too. I just can't deal with people on a mission to destroy what they can't understand, the inability to see another's point of view, and their complete incompetence when handling the Word of God.

I can't see how or why God won't punish those areas previously hit by a fire disaster. I would think they will all be just as affected as anywhere else. We are told what to do when this CME hits; get under cover for the one Day of its strike.

It's not a Wrath verse.
It's not talking about God's Wrath or the first Trumpet.
It's not even talking about the sun burning the earth.
Now if you want to follow a writer of Bible commentaries who thinks he is a messenger from God, you do so at your own peril.
Likewise, Proverbs 23 is about showing the difference between worldly acquisition, and acquiring wisdom, discernment, and understanding. Anyone who then teaches you idiotic word substitution and leads you to thinking you can buy the Holy Spirit - all so he can interpret a parable in the queer manner he'd like to: is also suspect and not to be followed.
Both of these individuals have one thing in common: to destroy some school of theology or eschatology to which they don't agree.
To set out to destroy a manner of thinking is to share the Scripture with impure motives.
Now I love a debate, and I'll gladly engage in back and forth argument. But you can't fix stupid. I cannot debate foolish people who have an agenda and who flagrantly disregard the words Scripture has written. If they are incapable of rendering interpretation and applicability in small things, how can they be relied to convey great things? There is no difference, like wise there is no difference between a dead in christ and any other dead in christ

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

The pretribs and prewraths have to manufacture "differences" in order for their theory to fly to have the rapture occur before all the dead in christ are raised in the resurrection.

When Revelation is read in a normal. unbiased manner, it can be understood as a sequence of events, with more details interspersed.
The sequence of the Seals, Trumpets and Bowls is inviolate. Everyone knows that Seals must be removed before a scroll can be unrolled. So shuffling them is wrong. It's plain historical fact that we have experienced the effects of the first five Seals. How many wars, famines and plagues are needed to convince people of that truth? And the obvious fact of the millions of martyred saints since Stephen.
But the cosmic and earthly effects of the Sixth Seal have never happened, so this is the next prophesied event we can expect. It matches with Psalm 83, where the Lord destroys the enemies attacking Israel with fire, paralleled by over 100 other prophesies describing in vivid detail how the Lord, will reset our civilization to a similar degree as He did in Noah's day. This time, most will survive the terrible fire, earthquakes, storms and tsunamis, and the secular peoples will form a One World govt, while all true Christian believers will be motivated to travel to and live in all of the holy Land, being at last, God's witnesses to the nations. I didn't mean just any fire disaster, like the brush fires that happen out west.
When Jesus spoke of the judgment of towns in the galilee He compared their judgment to that of Sodom and Gomorrah. That land is currently uninhabitable for the most part and has already been judged by God for its defilement. When we talk about towns, we typically think in terms of the people in them, but I believe, although this isn't explicitly stated in scripture, that angelic beings, powers and principalities in the heavenly places, have responsibilities for the ministry of God's justice as well as the ministry of grace, and have specific territories or lands that they were created to govern until the coming of Christ's millennial kingdom. When God judged the cities of the plains of Sodom, He was passing judgment, not just on the inhabitants of the land, but upon the angelic beings entrusted to be His ministers over them. God's final judgment is more than just a judgment, but a purification of the land, as I described previously as per the Law given by Moses. The scripture also tells us that God promises a restoration of the remnants of some of the neighboring nations to ancient Israel (such as the descendants of Lot). If these were Christian, then they would be part of the church and glorified in the kingdom, but the Lord talks about men having increased life spans once more in the millennial kingdom, so that a man who dies at 120 years of age will be reckoned to have sinned. These would most likely be survivors, but again, rare. Its even possible for the upper atmosphere to retain a larger percentage of the vaporized oceans and thereby reduce the ionizing radiation at the surface of the earth, prolonging life. It doesn't matter all that much how He does it, but we are told the end results. If this were true, it doesn't sound like we'll have all that much to govern, but again, I believe that we will be put in authority in a manner similar to the angels, taking over their responsibilities upon the earth for the millennial reign, so that the Lord may demonstrate the superiority of His Son over the angels, by the superiority of His ministry through the glorified church. A thousand years will be plenty of time to repopulate the earth, given that the rule of law will be Jesus Christ our King. The non glorified survivors of God's judgment, the remnant of the peoples will still have retained their fleshly nature, and there would be no reason for Christ to rule with a rod of iron if rebellion wasn't still within them.
There will also have to be plant and animal life that survives somehow, because God has promised a place for all the unclean creatures among the ruined places. He could supply all their need miraculously, but since He doesn't do that now, I wouldn't expect Him to do that then.
This amounts mostly to informed speculation, but as I said, scripture tells us about the end results, not everything about the process. The only reason that I posted anything about the transition to Christ's kingdom in its fullness, is because I believe that there will be men who survive, probably even some that visit Christian web sites and believe themselves saved by their works, rather than receiving Christ by faith. There may be people who fear God without knowing who He is, not having heard the gospel or seen a bible. Perhaps information like this would help them to stay alive. I don't know, and this could just be an exercise in academic futility. However, there are clearly people on this site and elsewhere who call themselves Christian, but do not believe what the scripture says about judgment, Christ's return, or the millennial kingdom, and I think that exposure to this information may help them to understand what will happen and possibly give them a greater trust of the scripture, rather than using it like some ancient Ouiga board and forcing it to conform to their preconceptions.
