Thanks for sharing.Your belief is that once you have received HS, He is going to live in you forever regardless of who you are and what you do.Please answer thefollowing questions for me.1. A man believes in Christ and baptized. He calims to have received the HS.A few years later he changes his religion. He abandons Christianity and worships idol and practices all kind of evil spiritualism.Do you think HS still in him?2. A man claims to have received HS, but he rapes a girl.Do you think HS is with him when he rapes a girl?3. A welknown preacher claims to have HS but comits adultery and homosexuality.Do you think HS is with him when he is having sex with other people's wife?Thank you.(Dunamite;29810)
John 14: 15 "If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans;"
The Holy Spirit comes from the Father. He is only known to those who have been given into Jesus care by the Father (John 10: 28) and once given can never be removed. The Holy Spirit resides in us.
26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
The Holy Spirit is our teacher. He connects us with Jesus as a constant reminder. He gives us peace and assurance.
Ephesians 1; 3 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of his glory.
The Holy Spirit is our guarantor of salvation. There is only one way to lose your salvation and that is to grieve the Holy Spirit. This is because he is a person. He can be grieved. It isn't easy to do this. You have to consciously go out of your way to grieve the Holy Spirit. So for all intents and purposes we are saved once and for all.For those of you who believe otherwise, it doesn't matter whether you believe it or not. I cannot convince you of this. You can only be convicted by the Holy Spirit.John grapples with so-called lost salvation.
1 John 2: 18 Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us. 20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. 21I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. 22Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist—he denies the Father and the Son. 23No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. 24See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. 25And this is what he promised us—even eternal life.
You can't lose something that you never had. He says if they belonged they would have remained with us. Jesus says the same in John 10. He says that nobody can snatch Jesus' sheep from his hands and I believe him.Blessings,Dunamite

John 10:28 Says a man can never Lose Salvation. WITH THAT SAID, those that ARE TRULY saved can never lose Salvation, THOSE THAT PRETEND, or a Term I like Make Believers, THOSE THAT ARE MAKE BELIEVERS can lose Salvation. A truly saved Man CANNOT according to This! Make Believers, those that can appear as Christian as can be, can deceive you into thinking he's a Saved man, yet inside he is short of Salvation cause of his make belief. Don't let the fall of make believers think a TRUE SAVED can lose salvation.

Amen. Similar here.I studied myself. I was like a recluse. Never went out. Only left my roomfor b'fast, lunch and dinner. The rest of the time I was in my room reading and studying the bible. Its then I realized the church was deceiving me. I started actually on March 19, 2007 and ended it 31 Dec 2007. I had gone thru' the bible countless times. I denied my self most of the worldly pleasures and comforts. I had practically no distractions. I did not deal in money at all. I didn't keep a penny with me. I didn't buy anything except have somebody buy me shaving blades and cream and toiletries. It was an awesome experience. But this did not make me a pundit or a holy one. I am the same with the knowledge that I believe that I can discern the Word of God if I compare the Word of God with nothing but the Word of God itself.I want to ask why people want to deceive us when they do it.I want to worship & praise God as He has asked me to do.Be Blessed Always.P.S. I have to go for lunch now. Be back after an hour.
Jip,I believe you have experienced God and received the gift of the Holy Spirit, gift of discernment, so that you know the church is deceiving you.If we don't have the gift of the discernment we may tend to believe all what the preachers, pastors and other people said.Pray that all Christians may have the gift of discernment so that they may not be deceived by cunning preachers, pastors and others.

Wow awesome testimony. Are you catholic by any chance? Well I know the existence of the Holy Spirit.I was talking about the spirit within us. The two are very different. And I wanted to knowif there is a way we could sense the spirit withinus as this what some say, as though they are sensingthe spirit within us. I did not ask to locate the siprit.I also did not ask what the spirit does. But till today no onecould tell me how I could sense my spirit but tell me I amsupposed to walk in my spirit, worship in my spirit, livein my spirit.
Dear JIP, I am assuming that when you say how can you sense your spirit within you that you mean how can you experience or be aware of the spirit within you. If so, I believe the following information may help you. TO EVIDENCE THE 'WITHIN' YOU When we received the holy spirt, we receive "power from on high." Many Christians believe that pneuma hagion holy spirit is automatically received "into manifestation" the holy spirit at the time of salvation. They believe that when a person confesses Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and savior, he receives eternal life which is pneuma hagion. There is something more to salvation for the Christian. Once you are born again of God's spirit you have the God-given ability to operate NINE wonderful manifestation of that spirit of which speaking in tongues is one.
Speaking In Tongues is the believer's external manfiestation and proof n the senses realm of the internal reality and presence of the power of the holy spirit.
When speaking to the Apostles, Jesus made a distinction between the spirit being with and the spirit being in. John 14:17, spoken before Pentecost, says of the pneuma, "for he dwelleth with you [active, present tense] and shall be in you [furture tense]." The pneuma hagion, holy spirt - the power from on high, entered into the Apostles for the first time on the day of Pentecost. The primary purpose of receiving the holy spirit "into manifestation" is to give us power for abundant living. As Acts 1:8 says, "But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost [the hagion pneuma] is come upon you . . . ." speaking in tongues is a constant reminder even in the hours of bereavement and sorrow, temptation and trouble, that Christ by way of God's power is in you (Colossians 1:27). Therefore, you have victory over the enemy in every situation because as 1 John 4:4 states; "greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world." There has been so little clear-cut Biblical teaching about the wonderful blessing of the holy spirit that many people have no idea as to the great value of its manifestation. Should all believers speak in tongues? In Mark 16:17 Jesus said that believers in his name "shall speak with new tongues." Notice that the Bible does not say, "Speak in tongues until the death of the original disciples and apostles." In I Corinthians Paul by revelation said, "I would that ye all spoke with tongues." Remember that the Epistle to the Corinthians was written to the Church. I Corinthians 1:2 stipulates, "Unto the church of God." Thus it was written to you and me. who are believers, who belong to the Church of the Body. Every place in the Book of Acts where the holy spirit was received and the initial external manifestation is mentioned it was always speaking in tongues. ----------------------------------------------------- TO WORSHIP GOD IN THE SPIRITJesus Christ himself taught about worshipping God in spirit and in truth according the Book of John.John 4:22-24Verse 22 --- Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. Verse 23 --- But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Verse 24 --- God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. In verse 22, "In spirit and in truth..." is the figure of speech hendiadys, which means "two nouns used but one thing is meant". "Spirit" is a noun and "truth" is a noun. The double noun is being used to doubly emphasize that it is spiritually true, or truly spiritual. God seeks true worshippers to worship Him --in spirit and in truth. What does it mean to worship God by the spirit? What does God's Word declare to the born-again Christian? Religion may teach one thing; however, it is God's Word that always has the ultimate and final say. It is the Word of God which liveth and abideth forever. What matters is what God's Word teaches, which is not according to the doctrines or commandments of men. Christianity is not religion. Christianity is Christ in you, the hope of glory. It is a loving relationship that the Father has with His children. To worship God by the spirit, we must operate, by our free-will believing, the spiritual manifestation of the holy spirit. This manifestation of the spirit which produces true worship is speaking in tongues.Speaking in tongues is worshipping "in [by] the spirit and in truth." It is true worship whereby God who is Spirit is communicating to his gift of holy spirit which is His new creation in you. God's Spirit speaking to your spirit as evidenced by speaking in tongues, is true worship. It is God's will for His born-again believers to know about His gift of holy spirit and to operate the manifestations of His gift in order that we may evidence the power of God in our day-by-day living. If you have any questions, please let me know.Love in Christ,Agape

A truly saved man can be deceived. I know many wonderful Christians that love God with all their heart but.....they are being misled by people in authority. Just as children are misled in school by their teachers and are taught that evolution is a fact, that homosexuality is just a normal way of life, etc., etc., so are others taught they will be raptured or they must pass snakes around or they must call a man Father....it goes on and on.Because they aren't taught truth, because they trust their teachers and believe they are doing what is necessary by going to church each Sunday, tithing, being baptized, loving their neighbors....that they are safe. THEY ARE NOT!Father tells us that Satan will deceive the world and they are being set up for that deception now. How many will know that Satan comes first pretending to be Christ? How many will worship him never realizing who he really is?Our Saviour will never turn His back on us but we can certainly turn ours on Him and that can even be done unknowingly, all the while thinking it is Him we follow. So.....believers that are truly saved can lose their salvation because when they follow Satan they are no longer saved to Christ.........Whirlwind

I agree Whirlwind that even the elect can be deceived if possible. Also we must remember that we can not know everything in the bible whatsoever. So its or may be hard to follow all truths in the Truth. Only Christ knows everything.JagLovest thou in Christ Yahshua, Lord and Saviour of the world.

Are you saying without speaking in tongues there is no salvation?
Acts 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.4.And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.5.And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.6.Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.8.And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?11.Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God."Every man understood what was being said....EVERY MAN UNDERSTOOD. It is not an unknown tongue in that no one understands but it is a tongue, a language, the speaker himself was not familiar with but he as well as all others understood it. 1 Corinthians 14:2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he spaketh mysteries.4.He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.5.I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. What is Paul talking about? Here the "unkown tongues" mean some can speak foreign languages. That is their gift, just as Paul was able to speak many languages and it was a wonderful gift when teaching....an interpreter wasn't needed.But...Paul tells us that those that don't speak the language of those he is teaching or preaching to is simply "edifying himself," not the church and it isn't a good thing at all. He is not saying we must bable in some unknown to any human being language. Certainly, no one is saying you must speak in tongues to be saved. I hope not as I barely passed Spanish.Adios Amigo.........Whirlwind

Don't get me wrong, I believe in speaking in tongues(languages unlearned by the speaker). I did not understand it to be if you did not, then you did not have the Holy Spirit in you.

That's ok, no need to apologize, but there is no other spirit unless you believe that soul and spirit are one and the same? If so, I did a post which explains the body, soul and spirit. If you are interested or curious I provided a link for you to get there. It's the third post down.http://www.christianityboard.com/can-saint...57.html?p=29265Love in Christ,Agape

Hi Agape,I was talking about this spirit. The separation of the Body, Soul, and Spirit has to be seen and kept separate for the Word separates them. (1 Thes 5:23, and Heb 4:12).1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus ChristHebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.Spirit, Heb. Rauch. The Gr. Pneuma. The primary meaning for both these words is “invisible force”. The spirit of man is the intellect, will, mind, conscience, and other invisible faculties that make him a free moral agent and a rational being. Both soul and spirit of man are immortal. They are so closely related that it is hard to distinguish the finest details of difference between them, but there is a difference. This is clear from 1Th.5:23; Heb.4:12. In general we can say that the spirit is that which knows (1Cor.2:11),and the soul is that which feels (Job 14:22 But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.). Both makes the inner man which leaves the body at death ( James 2:26). James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.Soul, Gr. Psuche, life, soul or spiritual part in contrast to the material body; a departed soul; also the spirit which still retains the shape and size of its living owner; the seat of the desires; feelings, passions, appetites and emotions. Psuche is the only word translated soul- 58 times, life- 40 times, mind-3 times, and heart, heartily, us and you once each. in the NT. The example we have is at the time of Jesus’ death. 1. He yielded His Spirit to the Father(Luke 23:46, Eccl 12:7, Acts 7:59)2. His Soul went to Hades (Acts 2:27)3. His Body was in the tomb (Matt 27:57-61) This separation continued until the Spirit and Soul reentered the body at His resurrection. So Agape its this spirit I am confused about now. How do i segregate this spirit to do the works i want as said in the bible.Be Blessed AlwaysJIP

That's WHERE THE THREE TYPES OF BELIEVERS COME IN, Un-believer, True Believer, and the Make Believer. The Make Believer who despite all what it says in the bible, will go with man made creeds and will listen to the pastors only rather than the Holy Ghost. Who will appear and profess themselves as Christians yet are far from it. DID YOU NOT READ WHAT YESHUA HAMASHIACH HIMSELF SAID, NO MAN SHALL SNATCH HIM OUT OF MY HAND!! Satan, no Man, CAN TAKE A TRUE BELIEVER AWAY FROM THE HANDS OF YESHUA HAMASHIACH! WHO can take away from the Hands of God. NO MAN or Angel, let alone a dirty demon.:angel5:

Brothers and friends after I became a Christian I abandoned sin however having a history of addiction to pornography I took a wrong turn and bought a video and watched it and while I commiting this detestable act of masturbation I felt the holy spirit leaving me "I prayer to God that instant!" I said "God PLEASE don't take your Holy Spirit from me!" I felt a presence leaving me and turned immediately from the sin destroyed the video by fire and have not commited the sin since praise God! I don't want to ever lose the Holy Spirit dwelling inside.

He will always be in You, but you will not always feel his Security, that fullness of Goodness. You will not always feel as if you are alone, even when you are living right, you may not even feel him. I tell you this Brother, REPENT, WASH YOURSELF IN THE BLOOD OF YESHUA HAMASHIACH, JESUS CHRIST, and Surrender.

That is true. How many of the "make believers" realize they are make believers? There are many charlatans but there are many that believe they are the true believers......it's very sad, isn't it?So...who of us are the True or the Make believers? Who will be with the Father or who will be asking mountains to fall on them?......Whirlwind

That's why a Man should never call himself Anything, just like the Men who were building the Tower of Babel. Men want a Label, not a Seal(Holy Ghost). If a True Believer is a True Believer, he would let his light Shine by the Holy Ghost, not by his Appearance or Mouth. Amen? Amen. Humility.
