So is what you are saying is if God has said all sin is forgivable upon repentance and you ask for forgiveness then it is not really forgiven? IF one repents are they forgiven or not ? and if they are forgiven where is it that Christ says there is contions on the forgiveness??Making post in large letters doesnt make them any more applicable answer the question please

If you turn from the sin and ask for forgiveness He will forgive you. If you continue to commit the sin and ask for forgiveness He will not.To make a simple analogy: If I punch someone in the face and later tell them I'm really sorry they may forgive me. If however I ask for forgiveness while I'm continuing to punch them in the face, they likely will not.Adultery is a forgivable sin if one turns from the adulterous relationship, but Christ did not die to give us the license to live in adultery without repenting.
IF one repents are they forgiven or not ? and if they are forgiven where is it that Christ says there is contions on the forgiveness??
If they repent then yes they are forgiven, but if they continue to live in the sin then they haven't repented.
Making post in large letters doesnt make them any more applicable answer the question please
I think it make it easier to read.SealedEternal

You are still missing the point for it to be adultry you have to have not been forgiven forthe sin. If one has married when young and not realized the importance of marriage and later divorces. This person then finds the Lord and repents for commiting the sins in the marraige and of not understanding the depth of comitment it takes and repents fortheir ignorance. You say they are never forgiven and can not remarry??If so then you are saying that the repentance was worthless that God will now forever judge them ??That God would rather they stay alone and have no love in their life? And you think this will make on a better Christain???You think having to deny themselves love and a family for the rest of their life because of a mistake that this is the way a loving God would want this person to live?Do you really believe that this person would love a God that denied them happienessbecause they made a mistake once?Sealed I can see you have much biblical knowledge and that is good but you have not yet aquiredthe wisdom that goes with the knowledge of knowing scripture You are half way there keep studying and pray for the wisdom that goes hand in hand with the knowledgeWisdom and knowledge are like a marriage you can not have one without the other.I see many who are on fire with the Word and have great zeal for scriptureBut I have also seen many with little knowledge of scripture that have great wisdomIt is only when these two come together that we find the true understanding of the Lord

That's correct. If you won't repent of your adultery you will not be forgiven.

No, they will be forgiven for divorcing if they repent and come to Christ, but then they must allow Him to be their Lord and remain unmarried or else reconcile with their spouse as He commands. They definitely cannot enter a new relationship which He considers to be an adulterous affair. To suggest that would be to turn His grace into licentiousness.
If so then you are saying that the repentance was worthless that God will now forever judge them ??
No I said they will be forgiven if they repent and make Christ their Lord, and will not if they don't.
That God would rather they stay alone and have no love in their life? And you think this will make on a better Christain???
Keeping His commandments makes us Christians by definition, and rebelling against them makes one not one. He would rather that we honor our covenant in the first place, but our sins have consequences.
You think having to deny themselves love and a family for the rest of their life because of a mistake that this is the way a loving God would want this person to live?
No I don't. I think He'd have us not deal treacherously against our own flesh so that His plan for the family isn't destroyed to begin with. When we allow our wickedness to destroy our family there are consequences that will result.
Do you really believe that this person would love a God that denied them happienessbecause they made a mistake once?
God's primary goal is to make us holy rather than happy. We will be happy when He restores the world to the way it's supposed to be. If you allow a professing Christian to divorce and remarry as the ungodly do, then you set the example that God's word is not to be feared and that we don't have to adhere to His commandments. He is far more concerned about illustrating the need for holiness than He is about happiness. Many of the early Christians were persecuted to death. Was God concerned about their happiness? No, they served as an example to the ungodly to the power of dedication to God. Unfortunately many professing "Christians" today think that God wants them to just live happy easy lives, and they miss the whole point of this world and the gospel.SealedEternal

Kriss,What SealedEternal is failing to tell you is that no one can be saved by obeying the Law. The things of the Lord cannot be found in the law of Moses for grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. The new way is the law within by the power of Gods spirit. For their is no laws against the things of the Spirit. So when in the Spirit you can stop sinning because those who walk according to the Spirit do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. The understanding of the Spirit is found in Christ, love, joy and peace. The true promise of life yet to come whilst being alive to God spiritually. It is the presence of the Spirit in man that makes us fully known to God and him known to us.When walking in the fruit of the Spirit there is no divorce, no hatred, nothing harmful within you because he teaches you to think and speak as a child of God. It is in walking in love you understand that all the laws and teachings of the prophets are based on true love. Love that obeys God and does not harm others. If you would like to know what the Lord and the Spirit can do within you I am willing to talk with you through scriptures so you may have a better understanding.Love Faithful.

Well, it seems like a lot of repetition going on, but no one is changing his/her mind. Christians who have weathered a lot of storms and have "aged in the faith gracefully" know that it does take time and patience to develop an even-keeled, confident, unshakable belief that cannot be disturbed because of your knowing the Word and what Christ has spoken to you. He always speaks consistently with His Word, but as we can see, people can have many interpretations. I would like to share some great news about 2 battles Satan lost recently to give this thread a positive turn. A couple in our church divorced a while back and totally shocked everyone because the husband was such a fine upstanding deacon and I absolutely love his wife. A few Sundays ago a sermon on forgiveness was preached and the now ex-wife went to her ex-husband and sought forgiveness through prayer at the alter. Now today in church, our pastor announced that they are remarrying! Isn't that neat. Right after that, another couple went forward and shared that they had been divorced for 6 years, but the Lord had restored their marriage. Satan DOES NOT win them all. I think that is so special considering what has been discussed lately here, so be encouraged!

Well that proves as I said above your knowledge is good but your wisdom is lacking Sealed God is concerned with our heart and the state of our soul When we repent we are forgiven the sin is gone never existed. That is the good news that is the reason Christ diedyou are putting conditions on forgiveness that do not exist.
Yes but you have a false definition of repentance which apparently allows someone to live in the sin they are supposedly repenting of. You cannot by definition repent of adultery and live in adultery simultaneously. Repentance by definition means to turn from the sin you are repenting of.
Once we repent it is done. over gone like the marriage never happened. There is no left over residual effects Therefore we have a clean slate as far as God is concerned we were never married. Therefore you are NOT comitting AdultryIt was a mistake that was rectified in the eyes of God there are no conditions .
That is completely inaccurate. If you divorced your spouse before you were saved God will forgive you for that sin, but getting saved doesn't dissolve your marriage and doesn't nulify God's commandment that you must either remain unmarried or else reconcile. It certainly doesn't give you a license to enter what He defines as an adulterous affair.
God would rather you bless him for his forgiveness and live your life in away that makes you happy so that you can forever worship him for his grace and forgivness he offered you, through the death of his son. this is Wisdom God wants your LOVE above all
Being saved means being saved from your sin by having God's Laws written on your heart and mind so that you no longer practice lawlessness, it isn't a license to break His commandments at will. You have a false definition of what it means to love God and your neighbor:Romans 13:9-10 For this," YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, YOU SHALL NOT MURDER, YOU SHALL NOT STEAL, YOU SHALL NOT COVET," and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.1 John 5:2-3 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.John 14:15-26 "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. "After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. "In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. "He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him." Judas (not Iscariot) *said to Him, "Lord, what then has happened that You are going to disclose Yourself to us and not to the world?" Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father's who sent Me. "These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.Loving God is to keep His commandments and loving your brother is not to sin against them either, so love is the fulfillment of the Law because God's Spirit has written them on your heart and mind so that you no longer violate them and deal treacherously against your neigbors or live in rebellion against God:Hebrews 10:14-17 For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying, "THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEM AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART, AND ON THEIR MIND I WILL WRITE THEM," He then says, "AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE."
Wisdom is from the heart and the soul knowledge is from the mindyou can not understand God with just the mind (knowledge)Wisdom (a right heart and spirit) comes from God. Without a right heart (wisdom) to apply to knowledge one will never understand God
You cannot understand God unless He has regenerated your heart with His Spirit and written His Laws upon it. He said that those who practice lawlessness such as adultery have not, and that they are children of the devil. Salvation is being freed from your sin so that His commandments are no longer burdensome to you because you agree with Him that your sin was wrong. That is when He says you have come to love Him, but those who turn His grace into licentiousness and practice what He condemns do not love Him and have never come to know Him.SealedEternal

Who said anything about the Law of Moses? Jesus fulfilled the Law of Moses by writing the Spirit of His Law on our hearts and minds so that we keep His commandments by choice and do not find them burdensome. We are saved by being freed from our sin through the regeneration of God's Spirit and not by lawkeeping. The fact that one practices righteousness and does not violate god's commandments is the fruit of the Spirit.SealedEternal

Then I suggest you get regenerated because you do not know God in his loving grace and forgiveness you only seem to understand it in the abstarct. You obviously have little life experience and have never been a parent So you have no concept of a fathers Love for his children this is Wisdomwithout it you can never but the words in proper context. All the book learning in the world will not give one what only comes from God that is All wisdomWisdom can not be taught to someone it must be experienced. So again no point going on you can not see what you do not understand

I have been regenerated by God's Spirit which is why I love His commandments and don't find them burdensome anymore, and I practice grace and forgiveness to my wife and neigbors by not dealing treacherously against them. You have the concept of licentiousness confused with grace. There is nothing loving about encouraging people to live in rebellion against God and thus ensuring that they will not inherit His Kingdom. That is downright selfish and hateful.
You obviously have little life experience and have never been a parent So you have no concept of a fathers Love for his children this is Wisdomwithout it you can never but the words in proper context.
I have three children and understand this concept completely. Part of my loving them is making sure that they keep my commandments so that they don't end up hurting themselves and others. I show them grace when they repent and ask forgiveness, but punish them when they try to live in rebellion against my rules which are for their own good.
All the book learning in the world will not give one what only comes from God that is All wisdomWisdom can not be taught to someone it must be experienced. So again no point going on you can not see what you do not understand
It is me that is quoting His Word to make my case, because the concept that "He joins a man and woman into one flesh, that we cannot separate, and that if we attempt to and remarry we are committing adultery", are His Words not mine. So who is wise, the one who heeds His warnings and molds their life around His Word and encourages others to do the same, or the one who openly defies His Word and encourages others to enter into what He calls adultery? Wisdom is learned by walking by God's Spirit and heeding His Word. This is the fruit of someone who fulfills the Law of love.SealedEternal

Well I do apologize if you are a parent but then I fail to see why you have so little understanding of the fact if your child makes a mistake you do not punish them forever because they broke a rule. The whole idea of rules is to teach not to punish.I had blamed your failure to understandthe emotions of Gods wisdom on youth but I guess you dont have that as an excuse

That's not at all what I said. I said that grace and forgiveness comes with repentance, but if my children were to decide that they are going to rebel against my commandments and refuse to repent then they will not receive grace but rather punishment. If they break a rule and are contrite and say they will not continue to break that rule, then they will be given some grace and forgiveness, but if they say they are going to do as they please and don't care what I say then I will have to exercise punishment to re-establish order. That is the same way that God deals with us. If we soften our hearts and allow Him to be our Lord, then He will show us grace and forgiveness for our violations of his rules. If we however continue to live in rebellion against him then He will punish us and prevent us from coming into a true relationship with Him and become heirs to His Kingdom.SealedEternal

You are told ALL sin is forgivable that includes the sin of divorce and if one is forgiven they are not only forgiven in part the entire sin is wiped away there fore a re -marriage is not adultry but blessed by God same as the first. for we all fall short and God knows thisIf your child divorced for a good reason And then fell in Love the a wonderful person you would deny them and make them live in misery for the rest of their life beccause they dared to break your rule? And you think that they would love and honor you??They would grow to hate you.God knows this thats why he does not do it.

I John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.JagLovest thou in Christ Yahshua, Lord and Saviour of the world.
That's a great verse to illustrate my point. God says that first we have to be willing to confess our sin to Him and then His Spirit will regenerate our wicked heart and give us the power to overcome the sin so that we are cleansed of our unrighteousness and keep His commandments. If a person is in a relationship that He defines as adultery, then first that person must admit that they are in adultery, and He will come into their hearts and help to cleanse them of the enslavement to sin that caused them to practice adultery in the first place, so that they will have the power to end the affair and no longer commit adultery. If on the other hand the person refuses to confess that their second marriage is adultery, then his Spirit will not cleanse them from their sin, and they will die as an unrepentant adulterer and spend eternity in The Lake of Fire for rejecting the regeneration of God's Spirit, and loving their sin more than Him.SealedEternal

The sins you commit against your spouse are wiped away when you are regenerated by God's Spirit. Your marriage is not wiped away by God's Spirit and there is nothing whatsoever in scripture that even remotely implies that being saved dissolves your marriage.God has said that marriages are joined by Him for as long as both shall live, and only the death of one of the parties will dissolve that marriage. Therefore He also said that any remarriage while the person lives is not a marriage at all but rather entering an adulterous affair. Our ungodly culture allows adulterous unions to have the blessing of the Law, but God has said that He does not recognize them as marriages, and that people are simply living in adultery regardless of what the civil law says. You're trying to turn God's grace into licentiousness and use Him as a justification to live in what He calls adultery. He doesn't save us to give us a license to live in sin, but rather He died to free us from our enslavement to the sin itself. Those who are born of Him no longer practice adultery because His Spirit has cleansed us from our unrighteousness, and we do not find His commandments burdensome anymore. A true child of God would never live in an adulterous so-called "marriage".
If your child divorced for a good reason And then fell in Love the a wonderful person you would deny them and make them live in misery for the rest of their life beccause they dared to break your rule?
I would tell them to fear God and make Him your Lord so they don't end up spending eternity apart from Him. Their happiness in this world is a distant second to living according to God's commandments and becoming His child. He will not cleanse them of their unrighteousness and make them His child, if they won't submit to His Lordship and be willing to turn from our lawlessness.
And you think that they would love and honor you??They would grow to hate you.God knows this thats why he does not do it.
Most people hate God and His rules because they have a sin nature that is naturally rebellious against Him, and they are so arrogant as to think that they should be their own lords as Satan and Adam and Eve did. You can either follow this path with Satan and most of humanity, or take the narrow path to God's Kingdom that few have found. He doesn't really care if we like His rules or not because He is God and is infinitely more wise than any of us, but if you prefer to be your own lord He gives you the right to that choice. Just understand that if you do so you will not be welcome in His Kingdom. God is not going to set aside His commandments to adhere to our desires. He is Lord not us. We must conform our lives to His standard and not vice versa, and He was gracious enough to send His Spirit into our hearts to give us the power to do so, if we are willing to walk by Him and allow Him to cleanse us from our unrighteousness.SealedEternal

May almighty God open your eyes and ears that you may listen to him.The facts are that Christ taught that every man should remain married to their wives and that though Moses allowed divorce it was only because men were hard to teach. Now in the Spirit men have no excuse for the Spirit is life for those who walk according to the Spirit and not after the lusts of the flesh. The flesh commits adultery as does the eye. In fact Christ went as far as to say that if you look upon a woman lusting after her you are already guilty of the sin in your heart. In christ forgiveness with true repentance is available. But those in the Spirit who walk according to the Spirit do not do the things of the flesh.Galations 5:12-15.12.I would they were even cut off which trouble you. 13.For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14.For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15.But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. SealedEternally is not false and the conflict here is not who is right but who has recieved what truth from God? If a kingdom fights itself it falls. 16.This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. This is the truth that SealedEternal is trying to convey to those here. That you cannot trust your flesh. That the only way to be sure of not giving into the flesh is to examine yourself and make sure you are listening to and walking in the Spirit. 17.For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18.But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. being in spirit means we are not under the law. Kriss trying to make this point but not clearly. 19.Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20.Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21.Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Now the Spirit is the power by which we live according to the laws placed within by God as in the new covenant. Today many men have hidden the truth that all men are equal in CHRIST. That it is Gods will for all men to be saved by the truth of Jesus and that each in love should receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit as counsellor to guide them and to keep them in the love and knowledge of God making them able to do the work God has planned for them. The latter point of verse 21 is what SealedEternally was trying to tell you but too much emphasis on the not inheriting the kingdom bit. 22.But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23.Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24.And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25.If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26.Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. The above are what you will display in your lives if in the Spirit you are walking with him. To believe that a person in Christ born of the Spirit is above others or that each is different in anyway or has a right or wrong teaching is not walking in the truth. The fruit of the Spirit as in Galations is the work of the Holy Spirit when transforming our character and we bear these fruits in us. This means we stop deliberately sinning and are transformed. As King David has shown us, we do not become robots but we are capable of making the Spirit sad. He sinned against God and in psalm 51 he asks for forgiveness he also says, " Restore unto me the Joy of thy salvation and take not thy Holy Spirit from me." We see the contrast when Saul followed his flesh. The Spirit has always been the seal of Gods ownership on the believer.Ephesians 1:13-14 Ephesians 4:30 Romans 8:38-39.Christians are commanded to be continually filled with the Spirit.Ephesians 5:18 and Acts 4:31.Now a child of God stops sinning when in the Spirit. Why?1 John 3:7-12 7.Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9.Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10.In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. 11.For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 12.Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteousNow God willing I will share with you why so many are lost the point which sealedEternal was trying to make.Jude 1:14-25. God may they read and see the truth in Jesus name.14.And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15.To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. 16.These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage. 17.But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18.How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. 19.These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. 20.But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21.Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22.And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23.And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. 24.Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25.To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. You can have life in your mortal bodies by the power of Gods Spirit within you. Do you remember the dead body thrown into the cave and touched the prophets bones? It came back to life.God can keep you safe from the evil one and give you a life of love and freedom from sin. You need the faith to believe the truth.2 Thessalonians 2: 10-14,10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 13But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord wants each person here to be saved and receive the Holy Spirit through faith in the truth of Christ Jesus who taught us that we should love God and one another. I implore you in the name of Christ Jesus that if you have ears to listen to what the Lord is saying to you personally. If the Son sets you free you are really free.Sin cannot hold you any longer.Faithful.
