If we're gonna use your measuring stick to determine whether or not the bible is holy, there needs to be something in scripture that states the New Testament scriptures are holy.
Do you believe it isn't?

Do you believe that the OT was holy?

Brother, I would encourage you to rethink that. Just because Walmart sells it or it is translated doesn't mean it is not holy and sacred. What makes it holy and sacred is it is the written Word of God.

And, if you put it in a paper shredder knowing it is the Bible, I wouldn't want to be you.

I'm a Vietnam era veteran. True story...we were sitting around back then smoking some weed. But, we ran out of papers. One of the men said, no problem. And he pulled out his New Testament that they used to issue every man. Because those pages were fine, he ripped some out and began rolling a joint, lit it, took a toke, and passed it around. When it came to me...I said no way...no way man. Even in my most rebellious years, the Bible was holy and sacred.

Do you think God considered this attitude toward His written Word? I do. And I guess that is just my opinon. But Jesus did say, "It is written".

Stranger
I dont Jesus died for us when we WERE IN OUR SIN and sent chrsduit none the less. Gods not waiting to wack you ever. There was nothing held against them for doing it. and nothing gained by you for not doing it. Which was the worse sin smoking da weed or tearing out the page neither.

There are many bible you could burn with good reason because of the lies in them. and verses that have been taken out. NIV for instance. But even the misleading NIV and the misteaching it it. Is still not a reason to burn it.

Jesus is God God Is Holy Holy Holy. and so is His word. If the new testiment is Gods word and. It is Holy and it can not be anything else but holy . Why is this even a question. Great post By Grace thanks. Gods word is so precious. Gods word is Jesus. Through it God the spirit speaks to us directly. with or with out bad translations. If its God its holy just like us :) Even we are holy as we came from God. We are not sin. Bless Jesus.

Really? Who says so? Paul called the scriptures holy in 2 different verses. By the way, what you did was searched high and low to find the one Bible that lined up with your beliefs. The overwelming majority of translation say "holy scriptures or writings

But in any sense, there is not point in debating with you if you are not going to believe what the Bible says

Amd you have done that twice now.

Well... The parts I agree with: thats God. The parts I don't agree with... Thats mans reasoning.

Happy with that answer? Was that what you were looking for?
I wasnt looking for an answer, God needs empty vessels to use but mankind is to filed with himself. You see, you read teh bible and you get "your" understanding, than you go to church you get your pastors, understanding, than depending what church you go to you get that flavour added, and now you have 3 different versions of teh same story. Than Jesus tries to teach you, but He is the truth,He tires to show you what it actually says, give you "revelation" but because His version doesnt match up with" your" understanding you will go tell Jesus that He is wrong because it doesnt line up with teh bible. That is how mankind has elevated the bible to a status greater than God.
v
I have said before of those karate movies, where the teacher gives teh student a glass, and proceeds to fill it till it spills over, and teh student cries out, "what did you do that for". and teh teacher than takes teh glass from him and empties it out, and says, when you become like this glass than I can teach you", problem is mankind is to proud and arrogant. Are you willing to put that book aside, go to Jesus and tell Him that, I know nothing, teach me?? IF you are not all you will ever know is teh bible. God teachers through experience, He isnt a story book character, He is real.

What about the ones that don't? You blew off that verse from the Living Bible. Does that mean it's not holy? And the Message Bible? Is it just as holy and sacred as your King James? I'm thinking not. Am I right? Is it only the King James you believe is holy or do you include "all" bible translations in your belief?

We have one God, one truth, even teh bible declares, Jesus teh same yesterday, today and forever, yet teh bible is in constant change, so how can it be Gods word or from God. Or another way, which god do you prefer, teh NSV version, teh NIV version.???

Yeah, that's exactly what I said isn't it. "I don't believe what the bible says."

I do not believe in Bible hopping. Whats going to happen when a versr from the living Bible doesn't line up with your beliefs? Will you find a different version again?

I am not going to debate scripture with someone who doesn't believe scripture. And again, that the second time you've done that.

Well lets find out:

2 Timothy 3:15-17Living Bible (TLB)
15 You know how, when you were a small child, you were taught the holy Scriptures; and it is these that make you wise to accept God’s salvation by trusting in Christ Jesus.

Which Bible version will you hop to now?

That's a hypothetical question that is attacking not only my understanding but me as a person. I will not put up with such tactics. Talk doctrine or don't bother talking to me at all.

Thats your second warning.

How can that be attacking, its a plain and simple question, and it is not hypothetical, just go read these forums and you will see so many telling God He is wrong because of there understanding, uesd to do it myself, But than if it is not teh truth you desire. Fair enough I wont respond to your posts..

When we elevate it to where it's referred to as holy or sacred, it has in a sense become an ido

Really? Let me check my understanding... If something is called "holy" the it is "in a sense" become an idol? Does that go for all things?

Do you want to put that to the test?

Exo 3:5. Was the ground an idol?
Exo 19:6. Was that a whole nation of idols?
Exo 22:31. Were these men idols?
Exo 28:2. Were aaron's clothes an idol?

My point just because God called something holy doesn't mean it is an idol.
