What is wrong with this picture? Men in a pissing contest; Mine is holier than yours. Testosterone is shed more than humble tears. "I am right. You are wrong." Puffed up, argumentative men; claiming superior knowledge and their truth as the ONLY way. But they have forgotten their first love. What does He say about pride? What does he say about arrogance and vain arguments? What does He say about strength being made perfect in weakness? What does He say about knowing them by their fruits?

What is wrong with this picture? THe stench of piss is stinking up the place...

Let them be castrated before you, Lord. Let them enter as a bride.

When I first joined this Site it did worry me...I wasn't used to it.
But now I am convinced that they enjoy the arguments...it maybe the reason that gets them out of bed in the morning!! :)
They see it as fun. I no longer care any more...but I do wish that there were just as many good positive Threads to join in with. I'm not very good at starting new threads myself.

I look at it as it is probably better for them to be on here disagreeing than just sitting watching some mindless TV show, or the forever stuff that they call "The News"!!

I don't think Father God is sitting 'wringing His hands.'

We know that James and John wanted to be 'top dogs' ..
"Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Him. "Teacher," they said, "we want You to do for us whatever we ask. "What do you want Me to do for you?" He asked. They replied, "Let one of us sit at Your right and the other at Your left in your glory."
Peter and Paul also heatedly disagreed.

Just my two cents. ( but not quite sure why this is in the testimony Forum ? )

This is a part of the problem. Posting in the appropriate forums. Someone could be pouring out their heart and soul in the Praise forum and someone else will come in and walk all over them.

There needs to be more moderators.

Yes true...a person for sure needs thick skin to lay their heart out in the open.
Risky business on this forum. LOL

But I have been on forums elsewhere, when there has been 'heavy' moderating.
That too can be risky...posting your heart and then squashed buy a mod for some reason... It stifles the forum, people hold back from posting.
I'll take the easy light moderating of this forum over any that I have been on previously. :)

Yes, I agree . I don't believe in heavy moderating either. But I think the site should have more than one.

I would prefer certain topics to be unpolluted by arguments; such as the ones you should find in the testimony and prayer/praise forums. But I think most everyone has the same expectations, and will jump to the defense of someone pouring out their heart.

How can pouring out your heart be risky. If its risky then you aint dead. if your hurt same if your anything but love your not dead to self. We all grabbed the going to heaven deal, but dont want the pick up your cross deal. Total selfishness that comes from misteaching. Most people are told say this prayer and your going to heavan. Its not moderators we need its die and grow up.

Yet every time I see a Christian get rebuked in any way they are ready to wipe the dust from their feet and run away.

Yeah I suppose.

o

I think they probably just trust that they will get a 'reported post' flaged, if someone is 'out in the left field' on here...then they can read the comment we write with the report, and judge for themselves if they agree with us or not.
I have used the report button...then I just leave it to them to decide. :)

even with Moderators we have to eventually ask 'who guards the guards' - twinc

Twinc...if we walked in a true and good heart we wouldn't need moderators.
We have moderators because we act like kids in a playground.
The Moderator is within each of us...and Love "should" moderate our responses.
We all fail...that is why we need a Saviour. ✟

well victoryinJesus it seems you have the a typical American view of what a Christian ought to be. when Paul was preaching in synagogues and the Jews would peruse him, should he be weak and timid for their approval or maybe not stand in Christ and submit to their versions of what the Lord is about? then there would no friction and unhappiness.

this week timid feeble wimpy definition of Christianity is way bogus

its one thing to be humble before the Lord, that is the appropriate thing to do, but to not take a stand in the Lord is not a Christian requirement only a requirement of people that take your position. if you don't like the T then don't tango with it.

Christianity isn't about making one feel good, the devil has that market cornered to the point that people commit slow suicide with drugs and such to feel good. its really about peace and contentment in the Lord our God that is promised to be forever. sure the guys get heated once an a while, so what.

I agree. I am not suggesting tender men. You are wrong when you assume what I believe or want. The man is strength. He is the head. He is a leader. He represents Christ. Believe it or not, I want every single man to be all God wants him to be. Families need strong men. I am okay with the woman as the weaker vessel.

I don't argue the roles that are meant to display Christ and His Church(His body). These are earthly roles within a marriage that display Him. The roles are vital. Households led by a strong spiritual leader; a woman bathed, cleansed, and nourished by the word of God. Children under the protection of a strong spiritual leader. You don't see that much. imo. If I had to name the weapon the enemy uses most often against the necessary leader and headship of a home...or a church leader: it would be pride. Think of Satan's number one attribute. Strange, that he attacks the head of a home; the one that resembles Christ the most and gives him an attribute the total opposite of Christ. Then their are homes where there is no man(becoming more and more common today) or the man doesn't want the role as leader, and the woman has to step into the position. Or she wants it. Then comes pride.

Strength is not succumbing to the weakness of pride which is of the flesh.
Is there a difference between strength and pride? Can a man be strong yet humble? Yes, I can think of one. Jesus Christ.

What were Jesus' attributes, DPMartin.

I don't think the corrupt version of husband and wife has ever came close to displaying to the world the relationship of Christ and His Church. What we are displaying, is not glorifying that union very well. It is kind of a mess. It doesn't seem the "sit down and shut up, woman, and fix me a sandwich," version of old didn't work either. Marriage is supposed to be a partnership. A sacred union. The husband providing necessary strength and protection to the wife. The wife "another" thriving part of the husband, so they can accomplish twice as much for Kingdom. Man and woman are not meant to be enemies in a battle.

So, yeah, maybe wishful thinking but I would like for both genders to thrive in the roles God choose for them. Inside homes. Inside churches.

Let them be castrated before you, Lord. Let them enter as a bride.

When I say the above, I mean. Let them(Men) put their Head, which IS Christ, first.
First and foremost let them realize that in the kingdom of God there is no more gender. No arguments. Christ as Head over all.
Maybe then, here, the battle over who has the better role will become none important. And here, we will happily serve Him where He placed us: either as male or female. Supporting and encouraging one another.
