Well, I can't say my weekend is going to improve much on any of yours, though I won't be watching garden furniture flying around.

Well I live in Calif. so Im waiting for a medium to large eathquake or a volcano in the Cascade range to erupt over the weekend if you can call that exciting
This is the kind of message us calif. people have to look forward to this weekend from our geologists friendsHello all:For the past 72 hours, I've detected very strong fundamental harmonics within the range between 0.5 and 0.6 Hz. This particular harmonic frequency range indicates a strong seismic event is pending along the Pacific and North American Plate Boundary. You are advised to keep monitoring this for the release of the next Critical Situation Update. Today's earthquake activity included a strong M6.5 seismic event epicentered off the coast of Peru, and a M4.5 epicentered in Northern California near Cobb / Clear Lake, CA. The timing for the M4.5 (17:00 UTC) is inferred to be related to an increase in convective currents at the Pacific Plate's Stress Center in Polynesia, which was triggered by an increase in Solar Energy reaching the Core-Mantle (c-m) boundary. The most recently detected MT Trigger Pulse occurred at 06:22 UTC (10/20/06). It immediately affected the stress level in an area near Oaxaca, Mexico and probably pushed the Peru region closer towards having a strong earthquake within a few hours afterwards. You can now see just how dangerous it's become to anyone who lives around the circum-Pacific "Ring of Fire." Yet no word of it is coming from an official government geological source. That is important information for us all, and adds extra-value to the services provided here and on all of the various message boards dedicated to predicting earthquakes. The New Moon is closely approaching its next arrival, and that is going to add even further increased stress to the Pacific Plate over the next couple of days.GeoSeismic Labs

Well so as of Saturday we had a 4.9 along the N.Calif.coast felt from San Francisco to Clear Lake Ca. about 100 mi radius. MT St.Helens send a cloud of ash 4000 ft in the air and created rockfalls after a 3.5 mag.quake the casade mt range is a string of Volcanos that runs along the plate boundry, that runs through calif.,oregon,washington. So we shall see what today brings

Anybody mailing out packages this Christmas season?I suggest that if you use the post office, you get insurance and signature confirmation.I've had two packages lost by the post office and never again will I mail out another package from the p.o. Delivery confirmation means nothing. One package was sent to me that was "lost". Forget about a trace-they do nothing. There's no accountability.I've received a lot of misdirected mail and I will mail it at the post office again, usually with " wrong address " on the front. But a lot of people don't bother and just throw it in the trash. ( wrong-unless it's junk mail )People that have packages dropped at their home which are clearly not theirs,( return receipt is no one they know ) It's called stealing.Finders keepers, losers weepers only pretains to things that can't be traced; not packages with return addresses on them that are misdelivered.A relative had 3 packages misdelivered to her home and she being honest, remailed them; not everyone is honest.

I never ship things from the PO. Things always get lost out here, too.Me personally... I use FedEx for every package. Makes my life so much easier.I hate that thigns get lost so darn easily in the PO. I've had some letters take two days, some take two months. Aaron

I got some letters ( sub delivering I think ) and I ripped them open thinking that they were mine ( in my mailbox ) and see that they belong to the people across the street. Oh no, one's a installment bill; yikes.Don't know them very well, tape up and bring to post office to redeliver.I was afraid a mistake would be mistaken for nosiness and neighbors---you know you got to sometimes walk on eggshells to keep things going smoothly. I bet most of the problems with neighbors are caused by misunderstandings.Didn't want that so I brought the mail back to the post office. Now, I look at the address before opening the mail.

A big snowstorm is going to slow down the mail here. All the roads are closed. Good thing we got all our stuff out.

Hi everyone, I didn't realise I'd been away quite so long. Largely due to the move of my forum, so we are now hosted by our good friend Gibby. Been spending a lot of time getting the forum restarted and currently spending a lot of time with Link Referal trying to get new members. We've had about 190 visitors to the site from LR and a couple have joined up, though only 1 is set to be a regular poster and has taken on our 'men only' forum as Moderator. He's also brought a friend to the forum. Anyway, I'm hoping to get back to posting here and look forward to meeting any newbies that have arrived since I was last here.Hope everyone had a great Christmas.:grouphug:

kriss, sorry to hear about your hubby, my father did the same thing. he was putting stain on the house and the ladder gave out from under him and he fell. didn't nock him out, but according to my brother (who was there when it happened), it stunned him, he ended up breaking his heel( actually shattered the bones in it. had to have major surgery done to it. was off work for 6 months ( still off work) and that includes the churches. there's a lady in one of his churches that is a "lay" speaker. so she's been doing the sermons for my dad at both of his churches. but because he can't stand on his heel, he can't do the services. the only thing he likes about this, is he gets to use a handicap sign in his truck/or in my stepmom's jeep. but he has to get rid of it when his heel is back to where he can walk and stand on it. GOD has been with him threw all this, and i'm glad!ros777- you've got some interesting ideas for meals. and now that i know of someone who has the magic bullet, i may get one. talk with you all later, jessica

kriss that recipe sounds good, i'll have to try it. i'm so in to mexican food. here's one for you from me. take an type of meat (i usually use chicken or beef, but pork is real good in this also.) shred meat (like you would to make bbq beef or pork), cook it all down. in a seperate skillet cook up some red, yellow, green, and orange peppers. (make sure they still have a little "crunch" to them), add A can of corn. 1 small can of mushrooms( if you like mushrooms). toss around until corn, peppers, and mushrooms are mixed together well. use faijta mix. put just a lite dusting of faijta mix in with meat and veggie mix. open a can of refried beans and take a little spoon full of beans and mix in the meat. add taco sauce or salsa, a teaspoon of sour cream, to the meat. now combine veggie/pepper mix with meat and toss together. goes good on tortillas( i prefer corn tortillas you heat up in skillet), yellow, spanish, or dirt rice. i like to put the rice on the tortillas then add the remaining warmed up beans, and then top with meat and peppers, top off with lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, sour cream and shredded cheese. shopping listmeat of any kindred, yellow, green, and orange peppers( 1 of each)(use as much or as less as you want)faijta mixsalsa/taco saucerefried beansone can of cornone small can of mushrooms( if you like them)sour creamshredded cheese(i like to use chedder or monteray/jack)tortilla( corn or flour)* you may season beef/meat with a little garlic, papricka, and onion powder*i cook this a lot. my mother has started to bring home the ingrediants, as a hint for me to make this. i have a recipe for hot bean dip if you would like it also. this recipe and others are for everyone. hope your hubby is doing well. i'll pray that GOD heals him soon so he can finishe the "honey-do-list" you've got for him (lol)in GOD we trust, jessica
