So this country is your country?
Then where do you stand in the Kingdom of God?
Or is that all make believe to you?

I have plenty of posts in other categories you can read and make up your own mind concerning that.

I'm in the wrong timezone for NFL anyway, it's hard to follow sports going on abroad outside of Australia, as it's either late, or during work hours, there was a time a year or 2 ago I managed to get to watch a bit of a game of nfl tho, it was the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers, and that was a pretty good game, they got a lot of ads though.... Even though I agree with you and reckon sports should not get involved in political movements, but it's still good clean entertainment and fun to watch. I wouldn't complain about the NFL, American national sports leagues have just about more display of the gospel then anywhere else in the world, you wouldn't go to an Aussie sports game and see Bible verses painted on people's faces and supporters at a game with a banner saying John 3:16 or Jesus loves you, and I don't think people see it in the English Premier League soccer either.

We got our own kind of Football here in Aus though, that isn't rugby, Gaelic football or soccer, it's an Australian invention. :D

All of these overly paid football players are using their popularity, due to sport, to further a political advantage. Then when Trump voices his opinion that they should be fired for doing so, then everyone is whining about Trump bringing politics into football. Trump didn't bring politics into football. The disrespectful players did.

I am an avid football fan. But the NFL has literally squashed any desire on my part to watch them even on TV. Much less pay money to go to the games. And I don't think I am alone in this.

If these 'stupid', and yes I emphasize 'stupid', football players think they own the people, then they need a rude awakening. My advice, boycott all NFL football games . Not only do not buy tickets, but do not even watch it on TV.

I'm from Texas. As far as I care now, the Dallas Cowboys can finish last. It doesn't matter to me. I don't care to watch any game of theirs, or any others.

I'm originally from Pittsburg don't live there any more but was always a Steeler fan. yesterday morning after the players refuse to honor the flag and country I toke off all the Steeler paraphernalia on the jeep.

football's a kids game that these people have the freedom to enjoy getting paid to play. there are thousands of people who would love to take their place if it burdens them to honor the country that protects them.

one's politics is no excuse to dishonor such, unless maybe one should live in another country, and you are in the wrong country.

thing is if I wear a Steeler, shirt for example then I agree with their politics, sorry I can find something else to do. it seems that every form of entertainment influenced by media is now a stage for estrogen politics.

Good point, and in an ideal world, everyone would boycott.
But I think you are over reacting.
I remember back in the 70's, the big thing was to boycott grapes because all the grape growers in California were using illegal immigrants.
So I boycotted and I told others, and after a very long time I realized that my boycott was meaningless.
I was missing out on grapes for nothing was going to change.
Then there were other boycotts, most notable was walmart, which got no where because America lives at walmart.
Hollywood stars have been expressing their political views for decades and now millionaire athletes do the same.
So what?
Give up watching a good game of football because of ideals?
You'll find you are all alone in life with no entertainment.
Your sentiments are understandable...but this sounds like a rationale for not voting.

The point is, they have publicly voted. Shall we just stay home and let them have their way?

Stay home if you want, but I'm going to vote.

My hats off to you. Stick to your guns. Go to the NFL.com and give them a piece of your mind, in no uncertain terms. Go to the Pittsburgh webb site also, and give them the same.

That is what I did. Don't hold back.

your heart may be in the right place but the only thing that will get them to see the light is that their revenues start to fall, and their ratings start to fall and the sponsors either will insist on paying less or not at all. the ratings are most effective. the media is the problem with the NFL in the first place. way to much money and influence.

so an actual boycott would be the best way. they want to tell you how they feel about you being a fan or not. well then maybe we should let them know how it feels if we the people ignore their multi billion dollar kids game.

Okay...I guess I need clarification...

I am not a sports fan, so I am not sure just what the knee-taking players are trying to say. I have just taken it as a disrespectful slam of hatred on America...

What exactly is their beef?

How strange.

That's kind of the definition of "arrest." Police "force" is the job description. "Peace" officer is not. Peace is the object, force is the means...by design.

Do you mean against blacks...or in general?

Your guess is as good as mine. If not for this forum and a little blurb on the non-sports news, I wouldn't be aware there was a problem. There are always so many problems in the eyes of people...

I guess I am not making the connection: Police brutality vs. the flag? ...Why not a hunger strike, for crying out loud?

My point is really that men often get hung up on problems which stem back to the real problem which is that people do not really know or walk with God.

Hey, I am not against honoring the flag, nor am I in favor of police brutality, nor am I against men working to fix men's ways [as if that were possible without God]. There are simply too many people [as I see it] who really do not understand what is really important, and then too many of them don't really care so long as it doesn't seem interfere with their own selfish ways.

I really don't like football, but I have no quarrel with others who do. My son-in-law cannot understand my position, but he is not where I am with God. Not liking football makes it more difficult for me to understand people who do and who also are at least in some measure believers in Christ. A quandary for whom?

Black people are tired of being pulled over for no reason and being subjected to excessive use of force and watching police officers not held accountable. I dont think the protests are unreasonable at all. Where hare you been, Scott? You haven’t noticed this?

And never have in its history. Just saw this going to see a movie, and this of course wasn't in an area occupied by a black majority. I was just 100% certain that the people that cop pulled over was black. And lo and behold, she was. What a damn surprise. HA!!!! I would love to know the reason why that cop saw the need to pull them over.
