How many sins are we allowed to commit and repent of before God willno longer forgive us?I won't say how many because if I am correct the answer would beGod's not mine.It was not until after the natural children of Israel had rebelled10 times that God forbade the promised land to them.In the case of Moses, only one rebellion resulted in him not beingable to enter the promised land.But...see the following verses:"Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brothersin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but,Until seventy times seven." Matt 18:21-22Jesus told Peter to forgive his offending brother 490 times, butmaybe that just means not to set a limit on how many times weforgive our brother. How many times will the infinitely merciful Godforgive those that sin against Him? It was ten for the naturalchildren of Israel and only one for Moses. For us it should be..."But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given,of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much,of him they will ask the more." Luke 12:48Moses was given more than the others who came out of Egypt with himso the one offense was all he was allowed while those other receivedten. How much leeway we are given or how many times God will overlook oursins and receive our renewed repentance should also depend on howmuch He has given us to deal with our situation. Only God knows theanswer to that for each person and therefore He alone can say howmany sins will be allowed before He will finally reject a person.

Seventy x seven = four hundred and ninety times. This is just showing off that God's forgiveness is limitless. It's unlimited. God will always forgive sins, that asked to be forgiven.JagLovest thou in Christ Yahshua, Lord and Saviour of the world.

IF there is repentance. Asking for forgiveness for selfish reasons or just for show won't fool God. He knows our heart and thoughts and knows if we are sincere. We can fool ourselves and others, but we cannot fool God.

And the fact that we are so weak and human...we sometimes miss the same mark (comitting the same sin) without realizing it. We must keep on asking forgiveness our sins. (even though, you may not know which sin you committed)JagLovest thou in Christ Yahshua, Lord and Saviour of the world.

We are sinners by nature. We have always sinned and will continue to sin! We will commit the same sin many times over, everyone does. Nobody lies just once, or has sinful thoughts just once, we just aren't like that. God knows this, he made us, he will always forgive us no matter how many times we sin!

1 John 5:18 WE KNOW that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him. 1 John 2:3-6 By this WE KNOW that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, "I have come to know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. BY THIS WE KNOW that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked. Matthew 7:16-23 "YOU WILL KNOW them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? "So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. "A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. "So then, you will know them by their fruits. "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' "And then I will declare to them, 'I NEVER KNEW YOU; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'1 John 3:7-10 Little children, MAKE SURE NO ONE DECEIVES YOU; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. NO ONE who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Or DO YOU NOT KNOW that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? DO NOT BE DECEIVED; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such WERE some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.SealedEternal

We must be returning His love. This, of course, begins in our hearts, but it will also be reflected in what we do or we do not do even though we stumble some along the way. David was God's servant long before he was king of Israel. He made some mistakes after he was king, the worst perhaps being with regard to Uriah and Bethsheba,. but unlike Saul his predecessor, David did not try to justify himself or to shift the blame to someone else. He admitted his faults, repented and accepted the chastisement that was laid upon him. God recognized that his heart was right even if in his weakness he had failed. What is in our heart will also be the basis for God's judgment on us. If, however, somewhere along the way after He has forgiven us we pursue our sins with the idea in the back of our mind that He will forgive us no matter what we or how many times we do it, we are looking for trouble. There is an end to God's mercy and many have found it before us.

We will continue to sin as long as we believe that we will. "Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." Matt 17:19-20"But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible." Matt 19:26The secret, of course, is to fully trust in God always. In our own flesh we do not have the power to have that kind of faith, that kind of trust. So then what can we do?"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" Matt 7:7So haven't we been asking? Yes, but if we are not where He wants to be yet, then we need to keep on asking. We wouldn't be the first ones who needed more than one touch from God."And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly." Mark 8:23-25Will it take more than one touch or more than two? And if it does would we not be willing to ask Him yet again and again and again?

Salvation is being freed from our enslavement to sin and born of God through the washing of regeneration and renewing by His Spirit:Romans 6:1-2,6-7,11,14-15,17-18,22 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? Knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin. Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace. What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be! But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed, and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.John 3:3-7: Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, You must be born again.”John 1:12-13 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.Titus 3:5: “He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Spirit.”God washes and regenerates our hearts so that we can be His children and inherit His Kingdom. The Apostle Peter states in 1 Peter 1:3: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…,”Again Peter says in 1 Peter 1:23: “For you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.” Summarizing what we have just read, we are BORN the first time physically of the “flesh,” from the “womb.” We then become our parents’ child (Water baptism has absolutely nothing to do with either birth). We are BORN AGAIN spiritually, becoming adopted children of God, when God regenerates us which means that He has fundamentally changed our wicked heart to one that loves Him and desires to do His will. Adam sinned and received a fallen heart that we have all inherited from him which causes us to desire to rebel against our Creator. The only way we can be reconciled to Him is by having our heart renewed or circumcised by Him:Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God. Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.1 Corinthians 15:48-50 As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly. Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly. Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Romans 8:5-17 For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even ableto do so,and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh-- for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "Abba! Father!" The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. Galatians 4:5-7 so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!" Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God. Only those hearts have been renewed by God are His children and can inherit His Kingdom. Anyone who still lives according to their flesh is not a child of God because they have not been reborn. You know you are a child of God by your fruit:Matthew 7:16-23 "YOU WILL KNOW them by their fruits. "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?'"And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'1 John 5:2-4 By this WE KNOW that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. 1 John 5:18-20 WE KNOW that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.1 John 2:3-6 By this WE KNOW that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. 1 John 3:2-10 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. NO ONE who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him. Little children, MAKE SURE NO ONE DECEIVES YOU; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. Such WERE some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.It is absolutely clear that you know you are reborn by the fact that you no longer practice sin. That does not mean that you will be perfect however because you still live in your fleshly body, but if you are born of God you have the power to overcome every sin. You will have a heart that loves God and desires to keep His commandments because they have been written on your heart:Hebrews 10:15-17 And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying, "THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEM AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART, AND ON THEIR MIND I WILL WRITE THEM," He then says, "AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE."John 14:15-26 "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but YOU KNOW HIM because He abides with you and will be in you. "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. "After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. "In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. "He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him." Judas (not Iscariot) *said to Him, "Lord, what then has happened that You are going to disclose Yourself to us and not to the world?" Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father's who sent Me. "These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you."2 Corinthians 3:2-18 You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men; being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, cared for by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. Such confidence we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. But if the ministry of death, in letters engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the sons of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, fading as it was, how will the ministry of the Spirit fail to be even more with glory? For if the ministry of condemnation has glory, much more does the ministry of righteousness abound in glory. For indeed what had glory, in this case has no glory because of the glory that surpasses it. For if that which fades away was with glory, much more that which remains is in glory. Therefore having such a hope, we use great boldness in our speech, and are not like Moses, who used to put a veil over his face so that the sons of Israel would not look intently at the end of what was fading away. But their minds were hardened; for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains unlifted, because it is removed in Christ. But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart; but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, thereis liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.Jesus warned that many who think they are Christians, (some even thinking they are BORN AGAIN), will be shocked at what He will say to them on judgment day because they were never BORN AGAIN. In Matt. 7:22-23Jesus says: “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I NEVER knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’” InJohn 10:27-29Jesus knows those who are BORN AGAIN: “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”SealedEternal
