Rom 6:22-23
22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
NKJV

Rom 7:6
6 But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.
NKJV

Rom 7:17-18
17 But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.
NKJV

Eph 2:12-13
12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
NKJV

Col 1:26-27
26 the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints.
27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
NKJV

Heb 9:24-28
24 For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;
25 not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another —
26 He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.
27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,
28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
NKJV

well, i agree there, yet nonetheless i don't think that works can then just be ignored, if we are to be judged by them. So this required some soul-searching at "works" for me, just what "works" exactly means, etc.
***

Works are not those that men do for show to other. Many time a work lead by the Spirit is not made with soundings of a trumpet and look what I did. They are before God and most of the time the child of God does not know that he/she did them. Like Paul the only boast I will make is faith in Jesus' work on the cross. Funny part is that the religious just won't accept that.

Again you are putting your words in my mouth that I did not say just to get a response. Well the response is that you lie because I did not say that.
Instead of complaing like a child would do,
why don't you ADJUST what your words are.
Am I a really mean person,
or maybe I just misunderstood you?

Here's my post:

And you think the word BUT means that God is replacing a law?
So God made a mistake the first time around???

Think again.

Here's YOUR post, no. 89:

To understand it a person has to see that things recorded in the past are, in many cases, replaced by new revelations. Many time this is shown by using the word “””BUT””. which indicates that what was mentioned before has been replaced. The word that usualt follows is but now or but God.

This is important to me because I'm very careful in quoting what persons say. This does not mean I'll never make a mistake, but, as you can see, I didn't make a mistake with you.

Would you care to explain how in many cases things are replaced by new revelation by using the word """BUT""".
Jesus used the word BUT.

My point is, was He correcting an old law?
Had God originally made a mistake?
What revelation from the past has been replaced by using the word BUT?

Yeah.
Paul was not an easy one to understand.
I'm afraid he's made many problems for those of us who are not theologians and not as intellectual as HE was.

So much is misunderstood.
What, exactly, does Romans 7:6 mean?
That there is no law?
That I can break any of the 10 commandments?

I'm really getting tired of Mathew 5 Chapter 6 being misunderstood.

Could you do me a favor and list 2 or 3 things that I would do to show to other men..

And then 2 or 3 things that I would do for God?

Thanks.

well, even you would surely admit that understanding that Paul was a pariah and on the run from the authorities when he stated that kinda puts his declaration in a different light than ours there
Funny part is that the religious just won't accept that.
strikes me as the religious' anthem, so i guess we would have to agree on what "religious" means now

Why do you think I would not take offence in your comment?? You do those same thing but no one makes this comment to you. You are just another poster, nothing else just as I am. Are you complaining, yes you are since all you do is to make me spend more time to over come your so called miss-understandings. But I understand that you think making a derogatory and belittling comment such as this gets you more responses by those that resent the comment and do as I am doing so I see it as just one of you ploys. Have a great day sucking on your pacifier

What I see is how easy it is for many to twist the scriptures to make them mean what they want them to mean. I took a simple scripture and pointed out that the words do not mean a future group of sheep and look where it has gone. Perhaps you should listen and see how much you can actually trust the ideas of others. If Jesus' simple words ""I have"' Do not mean He has them already then perhaps the Holy Spirit should have been more specific for many. But what does it matter; people will always twist the scriptures to get then to say what they want them to say.

I didn't twist anything, I used the words and their meaning to show a very clear message.
Apparently, you did not hear me when I explained that Jesus did not speak incorrectly - but rather you heard it incorrectly: Jesus spoke from His timeless position of things that occurred before the foundation of the world (before time).

You, on the other hand, have read time into it, when you should have heard Him in spirit - not on a worldly timeline, and not from the perspective of those who are perishing.

More importantly - these things are not for us to debate, and reason does not give us a voice that is respected by God. What is true with God is not negotiable among men.

I saw a small few here who understood this: other sheep = lost house of Israel that never returned to the land. They, too, would accept the gospel message one day.
Jews were mainly from the house of Judah and are not the house of Israel.
This is why the Jews made fun of Jesus when he said where I go you can not come. True Messiah would gather all the tribes of Israel and bring them back to the land. So they were being sarcastic by claiming he was going to the nether regions to find them (which, of course they did not take seriously).
Later on the apostle Paul understood that Gentiles would be included in this calling, no doubt with the national base of Israel. It is believed some of the Galatians were from the house of Israel, and historically they know they were the forerunners of today's Celts.

shall we stop the bickering by seeing and understanding what Jesus said and not what Paul or John and others say and supposedly said and is misunderstood - Jesus clearly said to us all, them and us, "if you love me you will keep my commandments" and Jesus further said no new commandment do I give you other than those I gave Moses on Sinai - twinc

there is obviously a large disconnected going on in trying to discuss "works of the law" with believers who rely on the Rule of Law for their security, anyway...similar to our lack of agreement @ "religious," i guess
