I am new here, so hello to everyone. I just wanted to bring up the issue of how many people today put a limit on what God can do for them. More often than not, they dont even realize it. God is a faith God who is always far more willing to work for us than we are to work for him. Mathew 12:37 says that its our words that either justify or condemn us (paraphrase). He also says in Mark 11:24 that whatever we ask for in prayer, believe that you will recieve it, and you will. So how come so many (me included...everyone is guilty) pray and then have doubt in their hearts. They say, well i hope God does helps me with my finances.....or i hope God helps me find a new job.......or i hope God heals this sickness. If your hoping and not knowing, then your doubting. God loves us all but cant work with doubt. Any doubt at all limits him. Let your faith soar because when you faith pleases the Lord, you will see mighty things. Here is an example......I live in the south, and there has been a huge drought going on here for a while now. The farmers are having a rough time with it. I heard a story about prayer groups which pray for rain for their crops....then get in their vehicles to drive home from church and hear the weather man say that there is no rain in the forecast......and where does their faith go........goes into the weather man. What can God do with that? That is just an example. People need to look defeat in the face and speak victory in Jesus name. They need to look at things that are not as though they were. Romans 4:17 God-who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did. Lost the doubt and let your Faith soar.........this was just something on my heart that i wanted to share. God Bless

ST PAUL Had a thorne in his side we dont know what it was perhaps blindness.Yes God could cure . But God choose not to.God often times sends things into our life that we do not understand and God allows them to stay. Does that mean God does not love us? or that our trust in God is not pleasing to Him .no , it just means he knows better than us at this time the why of it.what about the widows and her little mite ? she knew God very well !yet she was finacialy poor yet in the kingdom of God worth much more than any amount of money .What about the poor lady who knew Jesus so well that she would not be discouraged by his remark. But trusted in him so very much and was rewarded not by silver or Gold.read about Jesus and this remarkable women who compared her self to the dogs begging at their masters feet.this lady knew what Christianity was all about . we all are but beggers of Gods grace in Christ. in forgivness found only in our savior Jesus. We can ask for things but if Gods answer is no. That does not mean he does not love us . in fact it means he does>What Good father would give things to a certain child they knew in the end would harm them?and What may harm one child may not harm another . God knows each of us so well he even knows how many hairs are on our bodies.and when God needs to ,out of concern for our souls he will even take us to our heavenly home. even if we are asking at that time for him to cure us .Thank him for not being a bad Dad ,and always doing our bidding.HE knew all OF US even before the creation of the universe God even knew before he created any of us How many hairs we would have on our bodies at every moment of our lives .Trust that God will say no or give the nod to our prayers as he sees fit. thats a much better trust.Gods blessings

2 Cor. 12:7 says that his "thorn" was "a messenger of Satan". That sounds to me like it was a "demon" from hell that did its worst to get in Paul's way to prevent him from living a holy life and preaching to the lost. The saying "A thorn in my side" can refer to people as well--atheists who hate God and do their worst to discredit the gospel and Christians. It doesn't necessarily have to mean a physical ailment.

Your right, i actually made a point to mention in my initial point that God loves everyone. And your right, you may not always get what you pray for if it is outside the will of God. But if your prayers match up with God's will, then there is no reason at all for you to not recieve. And God wants his people to be successful.
and when God needs to ,out of concern for our souls he will even take us to our heavenly home. even if we are asking at that time for him to cure us .
Your right, God is an almighty God who can do whatever he wants. But he has to stick to his word. He makes promises in the Bible that he has to stand by. He will take us when it is our time, but I am a strong believer that it is God's will for his people to live long, healthy, successful lives so that they can further his Kingdom. Untimely death is not God's will.....the bible says that good is from God and those things which oppress us are from the devil. So here are my thoughts....disease is from satan, and he is always trying to kill us. And God is always trying to help out his people with their needs....God does the hard work.....all we must do is recieve his blessings, his healings, and all his gifts. I know there are gonna be people who disagree with my point of view and thats fine. I take the Bible as the complete truth, and i just try to call it like i see it.

Hi tmlee, you can locate where people are in faith by what they say, by the way, Mk 11: 24, says, "Whatever you desire when you pray, believe that you HAVE ALREADY RECEIEVED IT, and you shall see the manifestation of it".You are right, people do tend to believe what man has said, rather then what God has said. A person could go to the doctor with a pain, the doc tells them, you have, [whatever] , if you take this medication you will be o k in two weeks, and they believe him. then they confess, "I will be ok in two weeks". But when it come to what God has said, "By His stripes you were healed" and "Jesus has taken our sicknesses and pains".They say, I will believe it when I feel better, or I Hope God heals me. Faith doesn't go by feelings, and hope won't get you healed.By the way,I am healthy, prosperous, victorious, blessed and anointed. because the Bible says I am,I'm not going to argue with God, are you.

I think you are closer to the truth on this matter, Pauls distress at the situation certainly caused him to fervently seek the face of Christ. My own afflictions and weaknesses have humbled me many sickening times.
