In Acts 9:4-5, Jesus identifies His very SELF with His Church:

Acts 9:4-5
He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting ME?" He said, "Who are you, sir?" The reply came, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.

Notice that Jesus DOESN’T say, “Why are you persecuting the Church?” (which is EXACTLY what Paul was doing).
Jesus chose to equate the Church with himself.

In 1979 James and Deborah Green entered their "prayer closet" and claim that God was in there and spoke to them about assembling an "Army". The self-proclaimed "Generals" are leading people like YOU away from the true Gospel with their bizarre beliefs and man-made doctrines.

The Catholic Church, on the other hand was instituted by Jesus Christ, circa AD 33. to which He gave Supreme Authority on earth (Matt. 16:18, Matt. 18:15-18, Luke 10:16, John 16:12-15, John 20:21-23). His Word is revealed in Scripture and Sacred Tradition (2 Thess. 2:15).

There is simply NO mention of your man-made cult before 1979.
In fact - there is NO mention of ANY Protestant sect prior to the 16th century.

Unfortunately for YOU and most Protestants who have been spoonfed the fallacy that ALL tradition is wrong - you have misinterpreted this passage. I kn you thought that this was a "trick question" - but it's just a failure on your part to understand what Jesus was saying.

Jesus wasn't condemning ALL tradition. He was condemning the traditions of the Pharisees because they nullified the Word of God. They were placing their man-made and uninspired traditions on the people. Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit - St. Paul puts the Sacred Tradition of the apostles ON PAR with Scripture:

2 Thess 2:15
"Stand firm and hold fast to the TRADITIONS you were taught, either by an ORAL STATEMENT - or by a LETTER from us."

Jesus gave His Church SUPREME AUTHORITY - that WHATEVER it ordained or held bound on earth would be ordained or held bound in Heaven (Matt. 16:19-19, matt. 18:15-18, Luke 10:16, John 20:21-23).
Why?? Because He promised His Church that it would be led to ALL truth by the Holy Spirit (John 16:12-15).

This is Authority that the Pharisees were NEVER given . . .
