No, it is not done away, nor is the speaking in tongues. Some people don't believe in tongues today. Some people misuse or even deceitfully mimic tongues, but in spite of this, I know that they still exist. Daily I speak to God in tongues. That is part of my gift and it is part of my testimony.

The other manifestations of tongues also still exist even if everyone does not personally experience them or even believe in them. How much of God's Way do any of us know? How much do we not know?

The truth is the truth even any part of it which we do not know. If we are faithful toward God and we need to understand more of His truth will He not provide everything that we need?

The dividing of tongues in the Holy Ghost experience relates also to the double-mindedness spoken about by James and to the confusion of tongues at the Tower of Babel.

You sight 1 Cor 13:8
"Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away."
As long as there is a Church Body in function on this earth....prophecies will not ceased yet..tongues have not ceased yet, and knowledge has not yet 'vanished away.'

This is correct. what God separated at the tower of Babel, he mended at Pentecost. many people don't understand the Spirit. I speak with a new tongue. not another, or other language, or unknown tongue NO, "A NEW TONGUE". scripture Mark 16:17 "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues". a NEW TONGUE need no interpreter. a new tongue is a Revelation of a mystery not understood. example, "Diversified Oneness". not nothing different, nor "new", but misunderstood by lack of knowledge. it's new to these itching ears of today. because they haven't heard the truth before concering the Godhead. so to them it's a "new" tongue. the Holy Spirit is revealing new thing all the day long. revelation after revelation. we must and need to just STOP and listen to God/the Holy Spirit/JESUS, and learn of his way. as you said, amadeus, "The truth is the truth even any part of it which we do not know. If we are faithful toward God and we need to understand more of His truth will He not provide everything that we need?" this is a true saying, amen.

do you understand "Diversified Oneness?", no.... lack of KNOWLEDGE. Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children". so you're rejected.........

Lets see if this clear out any devils. let me help you out. Revelation 1:8 "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty”. I say that this is the Lord Jesus. But is not the LORD all caps the Almighty?, and many say that the LORD all caps, is GOD the Father, who is almighty. Let’s see scripture, Genesis 17:1 "And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect”.

I is a single designation. Can there be two Almighty’s? no.

so twinc, is the Lord Jesus the Son the almighty? yes or no.

is it reasonable to assume that a Son with a Bride would have progeny, thus making him a Father? yes or no.
No, assume no thing. would have could have again don't assume. I have seen many brides that never had progeny.

I'm glad you brought that up. now if the Father as some say is everlasting, and the Son, as you said, "assume" have children and is everlasting. would that not be "TWO" fathers? yes or no. but before you answer that read, Malachi 2:10 . now please tell us how many "EVERLASTING" Father do we have. I'll be waiting for that answer.

you made a bo-bo again, this is the Lord JESUS before his flesh. I suggest you read 1 Corinthians 10:2 -4. and 1 Peter 1:10 & 11. which proves that the Lord Jesus was the ONLY GOD in the OT... (smile).

PS now Revelation 1:8 is this your father? yes or no

People are confused to the extent they don't understand God's will for them so they walk according to their own will. If this is due to anything within believers it is their quenching of the Holy Spirit. Consider these words spoken by Jesus:

"For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children." Matt 11:18-19

Jesus was not confused by the two seeming opposite thoughts about himself and John the Baptist. The difficulty was not in Jesus or in the Baptist, but rather in those who had sought unsuccessfully to diminish them both.

You should spend more time in prayer and in seeking God's help in dealing with what you do not know or understand rather than in continuing to try to blindly tear down other people. I know you have problems with the Catholic Church, which is supposedly your church, but even they are not officially against tongue talkers today. A lot of Catholics do speak in tongues.

What is the gift of tongues? What happens when heard by people of different languages? Is it necessary if people all speak the same language?
