Does anyone remember this one , from the 60's. ( Ray Overholt 1960) It was kind of an anthem of the Charismatic movement. But sounded like something that the Wesley's could have written. :)
At that time it was so very powerful.. I only thought of it again today.

"I heard the angels sing "Glory Hallelujah!"
A mighty chorus way up high;
I heard the angels sing "Praise the name of Jesus!"
Singing in God's choir in the sky.

I heard a thousand trumpets sounding out His Glory,
Telling the story how He came to earth to die;
I heard a million voices praise the name of Jesus,
Singing in God's choir in the sky.

I heard the glorious song coming out of Heaven,
The sweetest music ever heard;
I heard a mighty song sung by all the angels,
My soul thrilled at ev'ry loving word.

I heard a thousand trumpets sounding out His Glory,
Telling the story how He came to earth to die;
I heard a million voices praise the name of Jesus,
Singing in God's choir in the sky.

I fell down on my knees when that chorus ended,
They shouted out a glad Amen!
I fell down on my knees, prayed that when in heaven,
I would hear that choir once again.

I heard a thousand trumpets sounding out His Glory,
Telling the story how He came to earth to die;
I heard a million voices praise the name of Jesus,
Singing in God's choir in the sky. "

What a beautifully written song, thank you so much for that. I had not hear it before.

"Come up in the morning . . and present thyself unto me in the top of the mount." Exod. 34:2.

"The morning is the time fixed for our meeting the Lord. The very word morning is as a cluster of rich grapes. Let us crush them, and drink the sacred wine.
In the morning! Then God means us to be at my best in strength and hope.
We have not to climb in my weakness.
In the night we have buried yesterday's fatigue, and in the morning take a new lease of energy. Blessed is the day whose morning is sanctified!
Successful is the day whose first victory was won in prayer!
Holy is the day whose dawn finds us on the top of the mount!

My Father, I am coming. Nothing on the mean plain shall keep me away from the holy heights. At Your bidding I come, so You will meet me.
Morning on the mount! It will make me strong and glad all the rest of the day so well begun.
--- ---- ---- ---Joseph Parker--- --- --- --- -

. . Give God the blossom of the day. Do not put Him off with faded leaves.

"God is my defence."

"The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; the God of my rock; in Him will I trust: He is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour. - The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise Him."

"When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. - We may boldly say, The LORD is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

"The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever. - Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice."

"For Thy name's sake lead me, and guide me."

No... but it did prompt me to find an old song I was shown many years back that was written by Captain of the Sallies ~ William Booth in 1894

Send The Fire
Thou Christ of burning, cleansing flame,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!
Thy blood-bought gift today we claim,

Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!
Look down and see this waiting host,
Give us the promised Holy Ghost;

We want another Pentecost,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!

God of Elijah, hear our cry:
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!
To make us fit to live or die,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!

To burn up every trace of sin,
To bring the light and glory in,
The revolution now begin,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!

’Tis fire we want, for fire we plead,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!
The fire will meet our every need,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!

For strength to ever do the right,
For grace to conquer in the fight,
For pow’r to walk the world in white,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!

To make our weak hearts strong and brave,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!
To live a dying world to save,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!

Oh, see us on Thy altar lay
Our lives, our all, this very day;
To crown the off’ring now we pray,
Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! [adapted]

. . . . ~Ann Voskamp ~

Hello Friday!?!
I know it hasn't been easy going this week & you're just desperate for some peace.
The thing is, Peace isn't a place you have to find, make, get to today. *Peace is a Person.*
"Now may the Lord of Peace Himself give you His peace at all times & in every situation." 2Thess3:16
*Peace, Himself.* ..........Because Peace is a Person & not a place ---
*No one can steal Peace from you. And nothing can steal you from Him.*

You can’t look in the mirror & think you’ve wrecked your life, you can’t hold up any measuring stick & think you’ve botched it so bad, that you lose Peace, that you can’t get Peace, that you can’t find Peace. *If you have Christ today – nothing can steal your peace today.*
You can feel nothing and still be held through everything.
God's purposes are not so much for me to understand His plans: His plan is for me to understand *Who He is*. And He is my Peace.
If I have Him today -- nothing can steal my peace today.
.. .. By A. V.

He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver (Malachi 3:3).

Our Father, who seeks to perfect His saints in holiness, knows the value of the refiner's fire. It is with the most precious metals that the assayer takes the most pains, and subjects them to the hot fire, because such fires melt the metal, and only the molten mass releases its alloy or takes perfectly its new form in the mould.

The old refiner never leaves his crucible, but sits down by it, lest there should be one excessive degree of heat to mar the metal. But as soon as he skims from the surface the last of the dross, and sees his own face reflected, he puts out the fire.

.......~ Arthur T. Pierson~ .....

He sat by a fire of seven-fold heat,
As He watched by the precious ore,
And closer He bent with a searching gaze
As He heated it more and more.
He knew He had ore that could stand the test,
And He wanted the finest gold
To mould as a crown for the King to wear,
Set with gems with a price untold.
So He laid our gold in the burning fire,
Tho' we fain would have said Him 'Nay,'
And He watched the dross that we had not seen,
And it melted and passed away.
And the gold grew brighter and yet more bright,
But our eyes were so dim with tears,
We saw but the fire--not the Master's hand,
And questioned with anxious fears.
Yet our gold shone out with a richer glow,
As it mirrored a Form above,
That bent o'er the fire, tho' unseen by us,
With a look of ineffable love.
Can we think that it pleases His loving heart
To cause us a moment's pain?
Ah, no! but He saw through the present cross
The bliss of eternal gain.
So He waited there with a watchful eye,
With a love that is strong and sure,
And His gold did not suffer a bit more heat,
Than was needed to make it pure.

Quote:-

"The most deeply taught Christians are generally those who have been brought into the searching fires of deep soul-anguish.
If you have been praying to know more of Christ, do not be surprised if He takes you aside into a desert place, or leads you into a furnace of pain."

Do not punish me, Lord, by taking my cross from me, but comfort me by submitting me to Thy will, and by making me to love the cross.
Give me that by which Thou shalt be best served... and let me hold it for the greatest of all Thy mercies, that Thou should glorify Thy name in me, according to Thy will.

It is not necessary to be always talking to God or even constantly hearing from God, to haveon with Him. There is a fellowship far more sweet than words.
A little child can sit all day long beside its busy mother and, although few words are spoken on either side, while both maybe busy, playing and working, yet both are in perfect harmony. The child knows that she is there, and she knows that he is all right.

Just so, the saint and the Father can go on for hours in silent fellowship of love, and he be busy about the common things of life, and yet also conscious that every little thing he does... is touched with the consciousness of His presence. ✟

Many of us, swimming against the tides of trouble the world knows nothing about, need only have some praise or encouragement - and we will make the goal.
1 Sam 30
6 "And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God."
Often we have to take take ourself by the scruff of the neck...and Praise!
Praise will bring down the walls of the enemy...as in Jericho.
Praise gives the victory! ✟
