VATICAN CITY (CNS) — It makes no sense to lament the problems of hunger and forced migration if one is unwilling to address their root causes, which are........................

Which is the heart of man which is deceitful above all things, because its from the heart that you get evil thoughts, murders, fornication's, adulteries, thefts, false witness, haughtiness, and blasphemy. If the Pope wanted to be honest about the root causes of the worlds problems, he would be quoting the word of God on the matter.

Yet....the majority of American Catholics who voted, voted for Trump, Kepha31

Which speaks more to what's in their heart more than anything else, and this is not to say that Hillary Clinton would have been any better. The two have been friends for a reason and hung out with each other often, because as the saying goes, you are the company you keep.

Maybe you should quote scripture over those dead children, or the millions of starving refugees.

The Pope is quoting the word of God in an indirect way, and seeking real, concrete ways of solving the world' problems. You are just too prejudiced to see it. Your blind to the word of God when it is applied because all you can do is read it. Worse, your non-church or whatever you call it is impotent in world affairs, so you criticize the Pope when he speaks out for solidarity and justice. The Pope didn't explicitly say, "Fulfill the law of Christ" but the meaning is there. That's just one example you didn't see.

A majority of Americans voted for Trump. It's called democracy.

Contrary to the psychotic ramblings of anti-Catholics, the Church doesn't tell people how to vote.

Well, actually it is called a representative process, not a democracy - if we were a democracy, the majority would have put Hilary in the White House.

My point was that the majority of Catholics ignored the values of the Pope and elected Trump, who defies everything taught by our church

Yes, blame everything on Catholics, who didn't want an abortionist in the presidency. I'm, not even an American and care not for politics, but maybe Trump is the lesser of 2 evils. I suppose you think an abortionist like Hilary supports the Pope's values. Give your head a shake.
HILLARY TO CHURCH—CHANGE ON ABORTION
CHILD-ABUSING BIGOTS ENDORSE HILLARY

When Hillary Clinton was recently a guest on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” she said the following about abortion:

“Under Roe v. Wade, as you know,” “there is room for reasonable kinds of restrictions after a certain point in time.”
She did not say why she has never found a restriction she could support, including the reasonable restriction on stabbing the skull of a baby who is 80 percent born (otherwise known as partial-birth abortion).

PRAYER POINTS FOR SUDAN
http://www.persecution.org/?s=sudan&x=21&y=16

A Pastor's Commentary

This evening, in prayer, we want to sow seeds of peace in the lands of South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and in all lands devastated by war. I had already decided to visit South Sudan, but it did not prove possible. Yet we know that prayer is more important because it is more powerful: prayer works by the power of God, for whom nothing is impossible.

“The risen Christ invites us, alleluia!” ... As Christians, we believe and know that peace is possible because Jesus is risen. He gives us the Holy Spirit, whom we have invoked.

As Saint Paul reminded us shortly ago, Jesus Christ “is our peace” (Eph 2:14). On the cross, he took upon himself all the evil of the world, including the sins that spawn and fuel wars: pride, greed, lust for power, lies… Jesus conquered all this by his resurrection. Appearing in the midst of his friends, he says: “Peace be with you (Jn 20:19.21.26). He repeats those same words to us this evening: “Peace be with you!”

Without you, Lord, our prayer would be in vain, and our hope for peace an illusion. But you
are alive. You are at work for us and with us. You are our peace!

May the risen Lord break down the walls of hostility that today divide brothers and sisters, especially in South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

May he comfort those women who are the victims of violence in war zones and throughout the world.

May he protect children who suffer from conflicts in which they have no part, but which rob them of their childhood and at times of life itself. How hypocritical it is to deny the mass murder of women and children! Here war shows its most horrid face.

May the Lord help all the little ones and the poor of our world to continue to believe and trust that the kingdom of God is at hand, in our midst, and is “justice, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Rom 14:17). May he sustain all those who day by day strive to combat evil with good, and with words and deeds of fraternity, respect, encounter, and solidarity.

May the Lord strengthen in government officials and all leaders a spirit which is noble, upright, steadfast and courageous in seeking peace through dialogue and negotiation.

May the Lord enable all of us to be peacemakers wherever we find ourselves, in our families, in school, at work, in the community, in every setting. “Let us wash the feet” of one another, in imitation of our Master and Lord. To him be glory and praise, now and forever. Amen

Maybe you should first understand what I was saying. There are no real concrete solutions to the worlds problems unless that solution starts with a major change within the heart of humanity. Its really as simple as that.

I wholeheartedly agree. Why is it that when the Pope says essentially the same thing, he is ridiculed by radical Protestants?

Well, he needs to come out and just say it and stop dancing around the real issue, like Jesus Christ would want him to do, because I don't recall global warming for instance being apart of Jesus Christ's ministry, that in of itself is based on "science" that is suspect to begin with.

Global warming is biblical though, since it is mentioned as a consequence of a failure on the part of mankind to destroy Babylon when many kings and their armies went into the land lead, by the king of the north, but instead decided to attempt to heal the land. This decision has lead to creation groaning and showing her displeasure.

The False Prophet: There is yet one more person of whom you need to be made aware. This man is (will be) a renowned religious leader who will bring together, under his leadership, a merging of all the world’s religions – an “ecumenical uniting of all “religions.”
This man will be satanically inspired and controlled, but he, like the AC in the beginning, will give the appearance of being a humble “man of peace” as well. He will appear as a great uniter of “faiths.” He will come across as having the meekness of a lamb, but will in truth have the heart and ruthlessness of a “dragon.” He will be utterly consumed by and be a worshiper of Satan himself.
This “religious leader” will be allowed by God to be granted from Satan great power, along with abilities to perform dark, supernatural acts. This religious leader will align himself with the Antichrist; it will be he (this global, religious leader) who will put into place a global religion that will mesh with a global government, all controlled and enforced by a global, military power. The Bible calls this man the FALSE PROPHET. You can read about this imposter in Revelation chapter 13. Watch out for him.
He may appear to be humble, wise, and benign in the beginning; however, he is anything but benign. He is wicked and deceptive to the core, and his outreach and influence will be vast.

And this kind of nonsense is what you get when you treat the Book of Revelation as prophecy which is assuredly is not.

That doesn't answer the question in post #47.

So you are using the Trump defense.......just blame everything on Hillary.

Hillary has nothing to do with Trump’s appalling moral standards, xenophbia, environmental record, or despising attitude toward people making under 500,000 a year. The Pope is totalling opposed to Trump’s policies except the only thing Catholics seem to care about, completely irraticating abortion. One issue voters elect monsters.

Because Trump apparently held the Catholic vote, you have an excuse to bash Catholics. Some claim that Hilary really won the election, why don't you blame her alleged loss on the Jesuits? You can initiate a whole new conspiracy theory.

I am Canadian, American politics is a game show IMO.

IS NOT AN ANSWER. Because radical Protestants are idiots, that's the answer.

I'm done with your cheap shots and circular arguments.
