Someone posted this on another forum and it was interesting how some people came up with there nickname. How did you chose your nickname?I selected mine because Jesus set me free.

Well, due to some complaints about me being too "anonymous" I was forced to change my nick here to Denver, which is my real name.My usual moniker is SwampFox. I got it from a local Revolutionary War hero General by the name of Francis Marion. I'm a big history buff and I very much respect what was done for my country back in this era as to all subsequent eras of military service and this is may way of honoring someone. I'm also proud of my Southern Heritage in that we might all be a little country, and maybe speak slower, but we're smarter than we look/act.

Well, people seem to take offense that my name was not beside what I have posted on this website and in the studies that I posted up. It's a bit hard for me in that I don't like putting my name out there because all I am doing is studying what's already written and already there. It just seems a lot of people feel that using SwampFox was shady, so to silence them I switched to my real name.As a forum administrator, and particularly as a Christian forum administrator, you're basically walking on eggshells because there is always someone who:A) Knows better...they know how to properly run a Christian forum, you don't.
Feels threatened by some particular aspect of the forum.C) [The least common class.] Just want to find something wrong with what you do and harp on it because you're an evil person as an administrator.I think people, unfortunately enough, would be surprised to know what goes on behind the scenes of a Christian forums and the kind of messages my staff receives on basically a weekly basis. Thank goodness most of the bad apples eventually move on down the road.I apologize for my digression there, but that's a picture as to why I changed my name here.

My screen name is a variation on my real name.... lol. Praise the Lord! He is all-knowing and just!!!
I chose my name because it's the name my friend and I also named our singing group. My favorite Biblical word is "grace". It just has such a beautiful sound to it. Jesus did something for me that I didn't , don't , and will never deserve! He did something that I can't do for myself. It of course comes from Ephesians 2: 8 and 9,"For it is by grace you are saved, through faith, not of works; lest any man should boast."
Well about a year ago I was at a youth group meeting when a verse popped in my head.Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.( John 21:3) I looked it up and ofund it extremley depressing, " and they caught nothing". So I typed it in google and what came up was page after page of screensavers which said " Letsgofishing" I checked back an hour later, all of the pages were gone.I think of it as Gids message to me. Maybe even his name for me?? I don't know. But I have faith
I always wondered what letsgofishing was about. Your testamony really spoke to me. Jesus calls us all to go fishing for men.
I was born again in the early 80s but became very angry with God and felt that God did not hear or answer . Eventually, I became to disbelieve completely so I tried many other belief systems and felt non were truth so I picked Lilith from the Hebrew myth of lilith being Adams first wife. Because she would not submit she was taken from the garden and Eve was then formed from Adams rib.

Mine is not a nickname. My name really is Tim and I am from Pennsylvania. I used to contribute on Christian forums under another handle which had to do with Christ and the Rock, and it was a REALLY neat handle and I called myself by that.But what most people here and other places do not know is I have an extensive web site with about 150 messages using that same Rock handle. So I dropped the Rock handle because I did not want my posts to be associated with my web site any longer, and I tell my readers of my web site that I do not contribute on Christian forums any long under that handle. I have a "split" personality. I'm my real name here (and other Christian forums) but my readers of my web site know me by my handle, although they could easily look me up. I no longer promote my site on Christian forums, but I do have additional geocities sites (like in my signature) to upload essential stuff for others to read.
I chose mine because of 1. Christs' words are in red in our bible. 2. DC talk wrote an amazing song called Red Letters. 88 is my birth year.
Mine are my initials. I've always used this when writing my name, even at school
I think it looks pretty cool. I always call myself this on most forums, or sometimes director958, or simply Matthew Wesley Miller
