You said: "I may be lacking in education but I have far greater knowledge in the things of God than most in these forums."

I don’t know the reason why you have echoed what I have conveyed, but if I read your post correctly, then I say: yes, I boast in having greater knowledge in the things of God for the Lord Jesus is the Greatest Teacher, ever.

2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

J2 you're on the right track,..... but. "I will bless the Lord at all times". and "his praise shall continually be in my mouth".
But,.......... you missed the mark. Sabbath is to A. to remember it. B. rest in it. C. worship God in it, and D. keep it, or be holy in it, right. this was under the OT covenant. only one day was given. but we're a new creation under a new covenant. and under this new covenant, we're to A. to remember it. B. Rest in it, and C. Worship God in it. D. keep it, or be holy in it, right. but in a change of Covenants so dictate a change in the Law. so what are the rules under the NT covenant? let the record speak.

Luke 1:67-75 "And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people, And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David; As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began: That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us; To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant; The oath which he sware to our father Abraham, That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life".

the Greek word for "SERVE" is in these verses above is the Greek word,
G3000 λατρεύω latreuo (la-trev'-ō) v.
to minister (to God), i.e. render religious homage.
[from latris “a hired menial”]
KJV: serve, do the service, worship(-per)

As the KJV can translate it, "Worship-per" or worshipper let's see it clearly. John 4:23 "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth". when did Zacharias, John the Baptist father say by the Holy Spirit/God to serve/Worship him? answer, "That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life". how many days? one day, no ALL the days of our life.

Now our REST. 1 Peter 4:1-3 "Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. (this is exactly what Zacharias said, "ALL the days of one's LIFE"). For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries". so our REST is to "cease" from sin.

the word "ceased" here is the Greek word,
G3973 παύω pauo (pav'-ō) v.
to stop, i.e. restrain, quit, desist, come to an end.
{transitively or intransitively}
[a primary verb (“pause”)]
KJV: cease, leave, refrain

we're to STOP sinning in the flesh, which is our rest. according to Baker's Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology, Sabbath means, to stop, to cease, or to keep. Its theological meaning is rooted in God's rest following the six days of creation ( Gen 2:2-3 ).

as new creation we're in his Sabbath rest which is EVERY DAY of our LIVES. as our brother John the baptist father Zacharias said, "ALL the days of one's LIFE". not one DAY, but "ALL" of them in our lifetime.

so J2, EVERY DAY is holy unto the Lord. and these are those whom the Father seek, they who worship him in Spirit and truth. the Sabbath keepers.

Peace in Christ Yeshua.

It is a common belief that the RCC changed the worship service from the seventh day worship to the first day of the week. THAT IS NOT TRUE! God Himself changed the date.

It cannot be seen in the English Bible translations and why God allowed the miss-translation is beyond me. Perhaps to foster unbelief?

Matthew 28:1 reads: “In the end of the Sabbaths, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week...”

This first half of Matthew 28:1 is what we’ll focus upon.

The word Sabbath in the Greek is the plural word “sabaton” and note the word “week” is also the identical plural Greek word “sabaton.” The word “week” is singular and contrary to the plural Greek word :sabaton.” These is proven by checking the Greek. One does not have to be a Greek scholar to see the mistake in translation.

Anytime we see an italicized word in the KJV, as in the word “day” the translators are warning the reader that that word is not in the original manuscripts.

The phrase “in the end of the Sabbaths mean: an era of Sabbaths (Seventh Day Sabbath) is coming to an end, and the phrase “as it began to dawn toward the first of the Sabbaths mean: a new era of Sabbaths, (Sunday Sabbaths), “in which the first of many Sabbaths is coming.

Note: even in death God rested on the Seventh Day Sabbath as He lay in the tomb.

Let us now put together the first half of Matthew 28:1 and see how it should read: “In the end of the Sabbaths, as it began to dawn toward the first of the Sabbaths...” (underlined words for emphasis). We see now the first part of the passage makes sense.

The nature of the Seventh Day Sabbath was not to do any kind of work. By contrast, the Sunday Sabbath is to do work. "Spiritual work" that is. As God declared in Isaiah 58:13-14!

The work we are to do are: study the Bible, write letters to love ones about the Gospel, visit hospitals or prisons to share Gospel, attend service at church, give our tithes, and so forth.

Some Christians go to ball games, picnics, movies, or play sports on Sundays after worship, and these activities are against Isaiah 58:13-14.

There are aspects of salvation that can be seen in both the Saturday and Sunday Sabbaths of the Lord. I hope and pray this will be realized in this thread.

I am not at all trying to belittle this discussion which is very important but my question is this. If someone sincerely believes in their heart that Sabbath is Saturday or Sunday and they do honor the day accordingly, will God condemn them?

I don't think there are many who think that Shabat is Sunday. It is clearly the first day of the week which is widely acknowledged and shown within the NT. For it was upon the first day that they were gathered together to break bread [cf Acts 20:7], upon the first day that Paul stated to take up a collection [cf 1 Cor 16:2] and upon the first day, that the tomb was found to be empty.

It is for such as the above, that Christians gather together upon that day. This can be a good thing, nor is there anything wrong with it.

As for a day of our own choosing, we should perhaps learn the lesson of Jeroboam:

1Ki 12:32 And Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Judah ... 33 which he had devised of his own heart ...

Thus, we can not "rest" upon the first day, and think to ourselves that is our "Shabat". Nor can we think to attempt to change the set times and law. Either we do, or we don't.

Most say that Jesus is now our "rest". However from my perspective:

Heb 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest hath himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with meeting upon the first day of the week. Nor do I judge those who consider Shabat as Sunday or in Jesus.

But for myself. Shabat is Shabat. Either you do or you don't.

1Ti 1:5 But the end of the charge is love out of a pure heart and a good conscience and faith unfeigned:

Amen! God is looking to our hearts rather than so much at our doctrines, and at our routines and at our church attendance [and/or the lack thereof].

The moment you said “belittle” that is exactly what you meant!

To answer your question, yes! Unless you believe God changed the worship day from Saturday to Sunday.

Welcome to CB.

Colossians 2:16 & 17

Verse 17 answers verse 16 in that all the feast days mentioned in verse 16 are nothing but a shadow of things to come completed in Christ.

"Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way". Romans 14:13

Have I violated Romans 14:13 because you are not spiritual?

Consider 1 Corinthians 2:15:

"But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man."

Scripture teaches (doctrines) that if we preach (doctrine) another Jesus than that of the Bible, let him be accursed!

When God looks at our hearts He finds a heart that is desperately wicked, unless we have become saved.

To God Be The Glory

"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing." I Cor 13:1-3

Without charity all of that knowledge of mysteries and knowledge does us no good whatsoever. Effectively we can have the Bible memorized and all of the doctrines of our church group but lack charity it is all for nothing. This is not another Jesus, but the scripture, which effectively when quickened by the Holy Spirit is the Word of God. Is Jesus not the Word of God?

And indeed, give God the glory!

Whoa! Slow down. Is not the subject matter about the heart?

Why then change it and speak about love? I was responding to post #90.

My point is simple! You have what you believe are correct doctrines, whatever they are, but without charity in your heart they mean nothing at all. The heart is where God looks without regard to the rightness (or wrongness) of your knowledge or your doctrines, etc.:

"Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts." Prov 21:2

Is this not where God separates the chaff from the wheat? God is looking at our hearts before he pays any attention to doctrines.

Not saying that you are right or wrong that the Lord is not to concern about our doctrine. Revelation 2:15 "So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate".

Proverbs 16:25 "There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death".

peace in Yeshua.

I did not say He was not concerned about them. I was rather emphasizing the importance of charity/love. Without it the best of doctrines held are worthless.
