SNOW!

Yep...our first came in late Oct.
It has been mild for the last week, so some has melted which has left us with ice. The nasty thing is...when the real snows come...the ice will get hidden and then it dangerous underfoot!!
I am hoping for a brown Christmas. One can but hope

I'm from where most people call the deep south, snow is rare here. but a couple of weeks ago we got some snow, that shock us. in all my life living in the deep, deep south only twice I can remember getting snow in December, once in February, and twice in April, and March. we usually don't get any snow year round. it may have snow here where I live maybe 7 times in several, several decades. it gets cold enough but rarely snow. so when we get it, it's a big event for us. probably for you it a headache. I inserted some pic of the snow, first time placing pic's hope they show up. if not someone will tell me how to post a pic.

A brown Christmas is one where we have had a month of snow already. Then we get a thaw...exposing all the dead brown grass and earth. Not fun for the kids who are off school and want to play sledding...but much nice for not having to do snow removal.
The bylaw here is, the walkways and sidewalks must be cleared of snow within 24 hours of the snows arrival. And grit and salt put down for none slipping. ( which is horrible to "have" to do when the temps are minus 20 deg)

And you 101G in the 'deep south', I am sure snow must make a mess and bring roads to a standstill as it used to when we lived in England. But here in Canada, it is just a way of life. We can have 5 months of it!! It may be pretty but can be very boring...we long for spring, which comes in May here.
It has turned cold here today, and we been told that it will indeed be another white-Christmas.

Snowfall occurs in the north most part of this nation and only a few visit due to security reasons. At the most we have fog or heavy fog but never snow here. It is nice to watch fog too. Sometimes planes are delayed due to fog. Most of us like winter as the summers can be around 50 degrees centigrade/celsius maximum.

Probably, Aus has summer at this time!

yes indeed, we're really not equipt for it. I remember a few years back Atlanta got some snow and it was so bad people abandon their vehicles on the road, and walked home. but this time it did not stick to the roads, thank God.

I'm not a complete stranger to snow. I was station in Germany for three years, and it snowed a lot. thank God for the South.

Oh good, finally we can see the photo's!
I don't like snakes, bugs, spiders etc...so I think I would rather have our snow. Haha!!

GINOLJC, to all. Glad to hear that Grams. Spring is coming, I guess we must be like king David, "Wait I say, wait on the Lord"... (Smile). God knows what he is doing, just trust him and everything will be alright.
