Hi Beano, No, Jesus didn't have a sin nature. He was not born from a human father. That's why He couldnt have a sin nature from Adam. The Scripture tells us plainly that He was conceived in Mary's womb by the Holy Spirit . . . the third Person of God.We see this explained clearly in Luke 1:26-35, "In the sixth month the angel Gariel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin's name was Mary. And he came to her and said, 'Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you! But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what kind of greeting this might be. And the angel said to her, 'Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. . . And Mary said to the angel, 'How will this be, since i am a vigin? And the angel answered her. ' The Holy Spirit will come upon you ... Therefore, the child to be born will be called holy -- the Son of God.' "I have shortened the quote for easier reading. You can read it in its entirety in your own Bible. That's why Jesus did not inherit the sin of Adam. Yes, Jesus is the Second Adam, but the one without the sin of disobedience as was found in the First Adam. It is because he lived a holy and sinless life that He could qualify to offer Himself to the Father on the cross in our behalf and take OUR sins upon Himself there and be punished by His Father for the sins of men, that we might go free, just by believing in Him.waynemlj

Did Jesus Have A Sin Nature just wandering as he is the 2nd Adam, Well we all know what happened to the first Adam. Jesus was tempted by Satan in the wilderness. Surely there was no point in Satan Tempting Christ if Christ could not succome to the Temptation.Kevin
Jesus never had a sin nature, The devil tempted him, but He never gave in to the temptations. Jesus was tempted in all things that we are, but he remained sinless. Jesus was full of the Holy Ghost,[God]. If you have ever been full of the Holy Ghost you know that you wont even think about anything sinful. He purifies you and gives you stregth to overcome temptations. So if you are full of the Holy Ghost, you will know something of the way Jesus resisted sin.

Jesus never Sinned nor did He have a Sin Nature but took our sin on himself on the cross. Now this is the bit I Struggle with.If the First Adam Aquired a sin nature because of of the temptation of the Devil then Surely? Jesus could of aquired a sin nature if he hadn't of resisted the temptations the Devil was throwing at him. Neither Christ nor the Devil were ignorant of each other, so would the Devil had tempted Jesus if Jesus could not of succumb to the temptation.thats really the question I'm trying to ask!!Kevin

Yes Beano,As a Man Jesus could be tempted. If we make a distinction between external and internal temptation perhaps your problem goes away. Before the fall, Adam did not have a nature which allowed an interior temptation. In his mind, soul and body are at peace. One aspect/result of the fall is an internal war. So in the same sense Satan could tempt Jesus externally, which is what we see happening. Hungry, then turn this to bread. Highly favored, prove it by tempting God. Want all this, disobey God and it is yours. These are not thoughts in Jesus mind, but real temptations offered by Satan. If we hold Jesus to be 100% then that nature has a free-will to choose, so as a man that temptation is possible. However He is also 100% God, two natures. In the second nature it would not be possible to sin, which is why I suggested Satan could not really have been certain this was the Son of God until He passed this "test". Note twice Satan keeps saying “ If you are” the Son of God.
