Does the number "seven" have a special meaning in the Bible?
Is there a spiritual meaning connected with the number seven?
I was told by doctors that my heart stopped seven times.
After the seventh time they managed to get things under control.

What do you think?

Haha...I am sure that you already know that it does.
Just as 3 , 5, 8, 9, most all numbers have meaning... Ivor Panin 1855-1942
wrote all about numerology in the bible. Maybe you have read him.
Some like his writings...some strongly don't.
For self I see much merit in it and, we saw numerology in the bible even before we'd heard of him or read his stuff.

There are alot of people who believe numbers have assigned meanings in the Bible, including myself. The problem is there are disagreements about them. I believe the reason is that they numbers aren't so clear cut across the board. For example (and I am not starting a debate about the number), i believe the number 7 to be "abomination or separation". I would 7 the 7 things the Lord hates (with the 7th being an abomination) in Proverbs 6:16. There are 7 things trying to separate us from the love of God in Romans 8. There are a few other things I cpuld cite, but someone else may point out that the 7th day is the Sabbath, and that the Lord rested on the 7th day.

So trying to find what each number means is tricky and a matter somewhat of opinion. Also, what they mean (once you find the assigned meaning) to your situation is hard as well.

As for yoyr situation, I'd focus on the fact that you endured them and the problem was solved after the 7th. You have been delivered from the 7 attacks.

@Triumph1300

As I mentioned one either loves or does not love Ivor Panin.
Quote:- Ivor Panin:-
The Bible has declared man's years to be three score and ten (70). The development of the human embryo is in exact periods of sevens or 28 days (4 x 7). Medical science tells us the human body is renewed cell for cell every seven years.

We're told the pulse beats slower every seven days as if it were in accord with the seventh day of rest proclaimed in the Genesis creation week. And God formed man of the dust of the ground (Gen 2:7); science confirms the human body is made of the same 14 elements (2 x 7) found in your average handful of dust.

The light of the sun is made up of seven distinct colours as shown in the rainbow. In music there are seven distinct notes which climax in a chord or octave at the beginning of a new seven.

In almost all animals the incubation or pregnancy period is divisible by seven. Seven is often referred to as "God's seal" or the number of spiritual perfection. etc

Ivan Panin's—Bible Numerics
Read it and make up your own mind. :)
I got hooked on numbers years ago when first hearing that the bible is written in 7's reading about John 1.1 In the beginning God .etc Everything adds up to sevens.
I remember at that time some believers challenged some unbelievers to write a verse in Greek saying anything they liked, but everything must add up to 7's and or divide by 7's. I believe the team tried between them for 3 months and could not make it work out correctly.

Yes agree all do not agree...it is by no means hard and fast.
But we have the seven Churches.
Seven crowns..of the Overcomer
Seven gifts of the Spirit
Seven trumpets
Seven steps to the Throne...
All was completed on the seventh day!
But as you say also....'seven deadly sins' etc...maybe Seven is the number of perfection godward and perfect evil the other way! Whatever we say...SEVEN is a very important number to God, he uses it more than any other number.

Bless you...H

The number 7 is used throughout the Bible and it does have special meaning otherwise it is just coincidence. Seven is new life, completion, it is rest, it is perfection.

Genesis 2:2, By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.

2 Kings 5:14, So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy.

By Tabletalk: "Did you have any visions?"

I sure did.
I found myself walking in a grassy field.
Every piece of grass was the same height, shape and colour.
No wind, blue sky, no sun.
Walking towards me were: One large figure and three smaller white figures.
I could not see their faces, these were glowing and shining faces...
When they got closer I was pulled back into the emergency room.
I felt really bad I had to leave that field, because it was so nice and peaceful.
Next thing what happened: they wheeled me into the operating room.
They told me later that I was revived by electric shocks seven times.
My heart stopped 7 times.
It was a long recovery, but here I am. Praise the Lord.

Could have been there for real or had a vision.
I don't know... but I know that it was an awesome experience.

Just to clarify: I didn't call them "Seven Deady Sins". Thats something different from what I listed from Proverbs 6. Still... Yea. That too.

3 is a pretty important number too. There is the Father, son and Holy Ghost; heart, mind and soul; spirit, water and blood. Then we have 3 unclean spirits like frogs. Then we have the beast, dragon and the false prophet.

So what do we make of the number 3?

Point is its not a fool proof thing which anyone can pin down. But I am interested in that Russian fella you mentioned.

Yes..#3 is very important too..as it is the number of God. There are hundreds of three's in the bible. Three levels of coming to God in the Tabernacle.
Outer court, Holy Place and Holy of Holies.
Three objects in the Ark of the Covenant , Jar of Manna, Aaron's rod that budded, and the Tablets of Commandments.
27 books of NT 3x3x3
3 days for Jonah, 3 day for Jesus...33 years old when He died. 30 when He started His ministry...etc etc...

Yes Ivor Panin is well worth the read... I used to have his book, maybe I still do somewhere :)
<Ivan Panin's—Bible Numerics > I don't like links much when on a discussion Forum, but this is very easy read. :)

Bless you...H
