Sometimes he is indecipherable. My own understanding of him has come from having known him on this and other forums for several years.

This last one, I believe, means something like:

["The fault likely lies at your end of the conversation. I've already amended and corrected previous errors. They were sent with regard to Christians being born again non-Christians."]

Hopefully that helped!
I did not see it that way, but I believe he made a mistake on first post using the word Non-Christian for Christian, or something like that. Later he went back and corrected it.

Here's one definition:

Twinkie ® defense Forensic psychiatry. A legal tack in which a defendant claims that a criminal act resulted from chemical imbalances induced by 'junk food,' and not criminal intent. Note: when the defense was first used, the jury, not surprisingly in California, “bought it” and reduced the conviction.

I've seen this ques before in places....now, am I being naive or out of touch?
I thought it was set clearly in the Nicene Creed...if you do not believe in just one thing
in that you are not a Christian. Am I wrong?
Did i miss some change in definition throughout history?
I know the Pope can change something on a dime, hahahah !! :D

So, if you believe in all that is proclaimed there you are a Christian, period, even tho you may
also be weak, thus, be a thief, a liar, a cheater, etc.

Webster's defines a Christian as somebody who professes belief in the
teachings of Jesus Christ.

According to that definition; it isn't necessary to actually believe in Christ's
teachings in order to qualify as a Christian; it's only necessary to say you do.

People don't even have to know what Christ's teachings are; they only have
to say they believe in them.

Nor is it necessary to put Christ's teachings into practice in order to qualify
as a Christian; it's only necessary to say you believe in them.

As far as I'm concerned; Webster's definition silences all the quarrelling
amongst Christians as to who really is one.

i believe webers is the closest to what a christian actually is. i know many so called christians that i would not trust. so what is a christian? too many people believe christianity is a religion. but in actuality it should be considered a family instead. if you look closely at what religion actually is you will find religion is mixed with domination, manipulation, and control which are all demonic. there will come a time where the church will be divided into the true church and the false church. right now the 2 are mixed and it is hard to tell them apart. right now many believers live in ignorance of the promises of God. thus making them powerless and hard to tell the difference between them and the false christianity. the true christian church should be able to be recognized by it fruit. the supernatural should be common place among them. christianity without the supernatural to support the Word of God is no different then the pagan religions. the supernatural prove that what God says is true. but without the supernatural all christianity is not different then pagan beliefs. look at islam for example, they have similar beliefs as christianity why do we not convert? what is so special about christianity? isn't it what Christ does within our lives that convinces us that Christianity is real?it is a word of knowledge or wisdom or a healing or some other supernatural touch that convinced us of the truth of Christianity.

God bless

******Thanks Mozart,
Marty, That's why I don't care about these dictionaries, they mean nothing in regards to spiritual things.

Great classic movie...still have it! :) So many great actors..and many so young 'back then'. But the first one I ever saw of her's was "The African Queen" I was about 9 years old. 1951 A cold wet day while we were on holiday by the sea. So dad treated us to a movie...a thing that didn't happen that often in our young life. :)

How would Webster know? Was Webster a Christian? Does the world get to define what it is to be a Christian? Jesus said, "you must be born again", and how would someone who hasn't been born again even understand what it is to be born again? Nicodemus certainly didn't get it and he was a preeminent teacher of scripture in Israel.

Now, there is a really true truth: 'the devil made me do it'

'Was Webster a Christian?'

From Wikipedia:
Webster in early life was something of a freethinker, but in 1808 he became a convert to Calvinistic orthodoxy, and thereafter became a devout Congregationalist who preached the need to Christianize the nation.

His 1828 American Dictionary contained the greatest number of Biblical definitions given in any reference volume. Webster considered education "useless without the Bible."[49] Webster released his own edition of the Bible in 1833, called the Common Version. He used the King James Version (KJV) as a base and consulted the Hebrew and Greek along with various other versions and commentaries. Webster molded the KJV to correct grammar, replaced words that were no longer used, and did away with words and phrases that could be seen as offensive.

In 1834, he published Value of the Bible and Excellence of the Christian Religion, an apologetic book in defense of the Bible and Christianity itself.

Oxford dictionary defines a Christian as a person who has received Christian
baptism or is a believer in Christianity.

There's quite a bit of latitude in that definition; and leads one to ask: What
is Christianity?

1Cor 15:1-4 . . I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you,
which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are
saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have
believed in vain.

. . . For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that
Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried,
and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

Paul's definition of Christianity in that instance is good enough for me.
